He didn't blame them, it wasn't a pleasant experience at all. His parents had just given him reason to look back on it with amusement. That and the whole situation was rather absurd and death hadn't resulted, so why shouldn't he laugh at it.
A small smile was given to Arya and a wink was tempting, but he had the feeling Lafay would have something severe to say against such a gesture, so he refrained. "Wouldn't want to bore you, now would I?"
And then his eyes were back to Lafay. Not instant? Well, it had taken several minutes for his breathing to go south, so not deadly instantaneous, but quick enough. "It depends on the poison, Professor. For those affecting respiration ventilators are used. Other times if the poison gets into the digestive tract vomiting is a good idea to try and expel it from the system." Hopefully she wasn't looking for an answer like the ancient cultures used to utilize, like bleeding a patient out. And why exactly was she saying good to those that had been poisoned and smirking at those that hadn't?
