She was okay with hugs though. Glad for them even. In fact, the hug and apology came SO quick. No work at all. She thought this over while snuggling into his embrace.

Jake smiled, but didn't laugh. He knew that laughing at an issue a girl had was NEVER a good thing. He found that out when he was a couple of years younger. Wow.
So yeah. He gave a small smile and snuggled Neptune back. "You'll be pretty... I promise. In my opinion, I don't think you need to try. But," he added hurriedly, because it sucked when someone brushed off your concerns. "If you really want to keep trying... I'm sure we'll find something for you that you'll want."
Wait a second...
"I mean... you will find something... if you find it's easier like that?"
She had after all said it would be a surprise or something. She could clearly tell he wasn't good with all of this stuff; costumes and parties and all that. And now maybe it was obvious he sucked at the boyfriend thing?
