Aw man… poor Brae was in for it now. Looking completely uneasy as he watched his friend's temper grow so high and heated that he could melt the ice they stood on, the boy took a couple steps back. Yeah, Deus was not very welcoming when he was mad.

Forty-seven owls!? What in the world was he talking ab-- OH. Oohhh. Oh. Oh Merlin. "I--I-- It was cold last night! You couldn't have possibly expected me to keep the window open all night!" said Braeden in his defense. He had wanted to keep the window open, he really did, but his roommates were all threatening to throw him out of it if he didn't close it. All the snow was getting in and no one was very happy. It was understandable. Not to Deus, though, it seemed.

"I've been here! I went to look fo--" A hussy?! Braeden's jaw dropped. Hey, that wasn't very nice! But it was no use arguing with Deus when he was in one of his 'moods'. "I--I--I was hoping I'd meet you here, I mean… I just-- she fell, I had to help her up!" explained the Gryffindor boy, who seemed to shrink in size the more Deus scolded him. Surely his best mate didn't think he had forgotten about their plans just to go meet girls or something! Deus knew him; he should've known Brae wasn't like that. Boo hoo. He was hurting the little lion's feelings; the poor boy looked like he had just been slapped across the face.

"You're not seriously upset, are you?" he asked in a low voice, warily. Of course Deus was upset. But Braeden still held hope that this was only his friend kidding around not being honestly, truly angry with him.
Amadeus scoffed, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. He almost felt bad for the random girl caught in between the lovers' quarrel, but now was no time to feel sympathy for strangers that Amadeus had never met, "What do you think?" He gritted his teeth, raising an eyebrow as he wordlessly dared Braeden to respond with another silly question. Wasn't it obvious that the Ravenclaw was in a rage? He didn't cross his arms over his chest for just anyone, or get into public spats, at that. Deep inside, Amadeus knew that it was only logical for Braeden to have shut his window the night before and to have waited to speak to Deus later, but the impatient Ravenclaw wouldn't stand for any impudence. "Couldn't you have sent me an owl back telling me that it was time for you to turn in?" He inquired, taking a step forward until the only thing separating them was the poor girl caught in the middle.

"I would have understood... Brae." He returned to calling the Gryffindor by his nickname, which was a good thing. When Amadeus called Braeden by his last name, you knew that things were getting ugly.
