Basically," he went on, feeling like he should explain it and clear up the confusion. "Before the formation of a proper system of classification, spells were just that." Spells. There hadn't been rigid regulations and definitions in existence, then. "Aguamenti was termed a 'conjuration charm.' Later, as different branches of magic developed and fixed laws were formulated, charms and transfigurational spells were separated, and aguamenti officially came under the heading of the latter. It is however, as you might already know, still taught as a Conjuration Charm sometimes."
"Of course. I'm in the Practice Hall after classes, so if you head there later today or tomorrow, we could work one of those spells."
"Oh, okay, I think I get it now." she said after the mini lesson. And she was relieved to know that she hadn't been totally off the mark. Now she just had to remember all of this long enough to write it down in her notes.
Hearing that she would be allowed to learn the drying and siphoning spells, the girl smiled.
"I would appreciate that Sir." She glanced at the other girl before saying,
"Well, I guess I should go." She grabbed her bag and headed for the door. When she reached it, she turned around
"Thank you for everything Professor D." With that, she opened to door and headed out. It was time to go practice.
