Shifting slightly in a rocking motion, he nodded at the deck. "You can take the top card or split the deck and take the top card from the bottom half." He wasn't sure exactly if that was how things were supposed to work, but he maintained that the reading would work better if the energy of the one getting the reading was with the cards. And for that, shuffling was best.
