Well, that's them. She wasn't surprised. They just wrote to let her know they were alive and she had to return to them and their prison after school. Maybe Joshua's would be better: Quote:

I'm so glad you're having fun. Belle sounds like a great friend and I'm glad she has your back! Wait, you made 3 friends?!?!? That's fantastic!!! I'm sure I'll meet Belle, Alice, and Charley when you get off the train in June. I heard your mum and dad say that they were leaving you in school over Christmas. That sucks. I was hoping to see you. I'm happy that you found out what your condition is. Rare, huh? I told you you were special!
This school I'm going to is so boring! I'm learning history and math and other dull stuff. I'm so jealous about the water balloon fight! Can you do magic when you get home? Maybe we can have another epic fight again!

Yep, you can definitely see the difference between her parents and her best friend. Her parents didn't want her around because she was chaos. Her best friend thought she was fun because she was chaos. She felt she was missing something though she was not sure what it was just yet.
