You see, soon before I left you I met another man. (I won’t mention his name.) I married him and had a son, Adam Burn, just a year or two older than you are. He is your half-brother and looks a bit like you. He is only a few years old now. I hope that one day you boys can meet. But if you can, please don’t let your father know. At least not until I feel comfortable seeing him again. I’m just… not ready for that kind of drama. That’s why I left. There’s far too much drama in being with your father.
But anyway, please won’t you keep a secret for your mum? I can tell right now that Adam is going to be such a nice person. If you ever meet him, which I truly hope that you do, perhaps we may be reunited as well.
Like I said, you had a right to know. And now you do. I think you and Adam will get along quite nicely. You are brothers, after all.
