Some stuff for independent studying... Huh, it wasn't actually a conversation he could continue on. "Huh." he nodded trying to put on his good How interesting face.
Now this was difficult. Should he be honest and say he was in a depressive mood since all his friends were MIA? Should he say that he had just ended up in the library because it was quiet? Nah, then he would sound stupid... Then again, if he would tell her he looked for something then she would help him search and he would have to borrow it... Ugh, decisions, decisions. "No not really." he admitted with a grin and scratched his neck. Nope, he was just a random dude scanning the library shelves. He should have lied.
"So, you're in your sixth year right?" he asked to keep the conversation going. Even though he already knew the answer.
Iris nodded at the boy and smiled. Um.... Now what? The prefect took another glance at her books.
Looking at Alex, Iris cocked her eyebrow slightly at his expression. Did he think that she was insane or something, for studying something that wasn't to do with school?
... Probably.
"So... You're just in the library for the heck of it?" She asked, simply. By the looks of it, he had something on his mind. Maybe the library was just somewhere he liked being? Just as how Iris likes being in the pumpkin patch.
And... he knows her year, too? ... Oooohkay. Either this kid's a mind reader, or a stalker. PLEASE let it be the former! (Or... y'know, the logical. There's the Who's Who thing in the common room. He might've read it.)
"Yeah... I'm a Sixth year." Iris frowned.
"Don't expect me to be able to guess your year like that, though." She said, grinning.
