No manners.

"Well, good. If that's all it really is, then I'm relieved," said Braeden as the girl assured him she'd be fine. He'd just saved himself a trip to the hospital wing and the possible accusation from one of the nurses about him being the culprit behind the attack to this Ravenclaw girl.

It was just as the girl released his hand that Braeden, too, realized she had still been holding on to him for the past few seconds. He didn't mind or even pay much attention to it, though; Brae was kind of oblivious to the fact that hand-holding was a little friendly. He'd hold the hand of a crazed goblin if he had to; though he'd rather not. Goblins were cranky. GAH, and then the girl was looking all... wobbly again! Braeden was just about to get a hold of her again when she decided best to lean back against her attacker (something which he frowned upon; he didn't trust this tree just yet. It seemed nice now, but who could guarantee them it wouldn't attack again?).

"If I were you, I'd choose a different tree to lean on," said Braeden. "Actually, no, that's a lie. If I were you, I'd be pretending everything was a lot worse than it really is just so that I can skip classes for a couple days and have breakfast brought to my bed," he confessed with a lopsided grin. Yeah, that would've been the Braeden-like thing to do. But this girl was definitely not as opportunistic as him. Admirable.

As the girl then introduced herself as Ivory, Braeden remembered - he hadn't introduced himself yet, either. Fail. Though in his defense, that tree had sort of sidetracked them from having a normal conversation with introductions and all. "I'm Braeden Stonem," the boy shared, unable to help but chuckle as Ivory described herself as a klutz. "Nah, I still think that tree was out to get you. You just probably hit your head so hard that it's got you thinking you were at fault," he said matter-of-factly, feeling so smart for coming up with this theory. He should become a healer. "Anyway, if it makes you feel any better, you're not the first to be attacked by nature. I could write you a guide on '101 ways to provoke and be attacked by trees, giant spiders, cats, and all sea-dwelling creatures'." That was going to be the title of his book.

Braeden paused for a moment, examining this new character for a second. Poor Ivory still looked a mess. "So. Ravenclaw, huh?" he asked, unable to help but notice the colors on her uniform that was still covered in leaves and twigs. He'd help her, but last time he tried to help a girl get twigs out of her hair she kicked him in the shins and ran off. He wasn't going to risk it again.
A different tree to lean on.

Patting the tree again, Ivory grinned. "No, I think he learned his lesson."
She'd been about to elaborate on how the tree probably knew better now when she heard the rest of his sentence and with that she let out a genuine laugh. "That is an idea. Breakfast in bed...mmm." Smiling mischievously, she pretended to think about it, even though as nerd-like as it probably sounded she was actually excited for the start of new classes. "Think you'd back up my story, killer trees and all."

Hearing his side of the pleasantries, Ivory reached out a hand. This time, you know, for actual shaking and greeting. "Well, it's nice to meet you Braeden." Smiling again, she shook her head laughingly. "I think I might take you up on that, just to know what not to do to trees, cats, giant spiders," Ticking off the things with her fingers, she held up the last one and wiggled it in the air for emphasis. "Aaand sea dwelling creatures." She'd had more run ins then were deemed necessary in life so although he was probably joking, a book like that would be useful. Besides there were bound to be moments in life when one needed to provoke one of those things. Sure, she couldn't exactly think of a reason right at this second but she were sure those reasons existed.

Huh? Her eyes widened slightly. How on earth had he known she was in Ravenclaw? Did she in reality actually elude a nerd like aura? It was probably because she had a book with her. Or well she'd had.

Following his gaze for a second, she smiled ruefully understanding his appraisal now. Oh yes. That made sense. Not only was she wearing the Ravenclaw colors but her badge albeit a little dusty was still pinned there. Dusting off a little more a bit self consciously now, she nodded giving him a quirky grin as she shrugged her leave covered hair over her shoulder. "Yup. Although the wit obviously didn't encompass watching out for stationary trees." Looking him over now and his general non-nature covered-ness she added. "And you're in Gryffindor." Or so it would seem. He could be borrowing a friend's robes because his were in the laundry for all she knew.
