Jake felt that highly unpleasant flip in his stomach that he'd felt at the feast when Truebridge told him to come up here.
He did sit up slightly, even though it was only 'if he pleased' and continued staring at the desk.
"Because the staff all called me rude and you were the only one who realised otherwise?" Jake tried, quite serious, but at the same time knowing he was probably being bitter... and the thought made him smile ever so slightly.
"Other than that? I got nothing."
