Dallin was too buys grinning like an idiot to realize that someone was talking to him. He heard the girl say something, but he didn't see that it was directed at him until he looked at her, and she was looking back. Ah. That's kind of embarrassing.

He smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, I'm new. Fourth year, though. And my name's Dallin." He shook her hand over the table, bumping his arm on one of the shiny gold plates. He eyed her robes, and guessed that she wasn't new here. "It's nice to meet ya, by the way." He added quickly.
