"House Elves serve wizards and witches, and must do everything that their masters command unless they are freed. A House-Elf can only be freed when his master gives him a piece of clothing such as a sock or hat." Kurumi paused for a moment. "Wizards have put them under themselves, but they have more powerful magic. I've seen the Hogwarts House Elves Apparating in and out of the kitchen. Apparating is said to be impossible to do within Hogwarts!"
