Okay, that was fast. "Good."

"Close, yes. Good guess." Feel a dream. That's basically what they were doing.

Um... Sentient. Beings. Us. "I see where you get that, but it's not quite the same. Good guess, though."

If anything, she was less Ravenclaw than most of her House, so that comment probably wasn't directed at her. "Somnium is probably based in the Latin somnus, to sleep," she recited, and then she got to the actual questions she wanted to ask.

"Professor, while the charm was still active, what would have happened if we walked past where one of the walls should have been? Would we, like, walk into it, or go past it somehow?"
Oy. Good question. "That depends on the strength of the charm and the limitations the caster has put on it. For example, beginners at this spell, such as you, will probably have quite a hard time expanding the classroom to fit such a large landscape as I did. The more you practice, the more you can create the illusion that there really are miles and miles of open air. No, you won't walk through walls and float through thin air. Once the charm wears off, you'll still find yourself inside the classroom. The more you practice, the more you can expand the physical reality and create the illusion of a big open field. For now, you may create an illusion of the open sea, but if you try to row your boat across the ocean, you're going to run into a barrier. Also known as the back wall of the classroom." Hopefully that made sense.

Well....... "Yes." He did mention the fact that they would be learning a daydream charm.

So, are we perhaps going to create vivid daydreams of things that have scents and have smells in the daydream as well".
Hm. "Interesting deduction, but not quite. The word scent doesn't come from this latin word. But we will be creating daydreams, yes."

Whatever, it made you daydream. That was the point of it.
"Yes, very good. Not quite summoning, but the other part was right."

SPOILER!!: DEAF STUDENTS

His vision was a bit blurry and he squinted his eyes trying to see the words that had been written on the black board. But even when he did he still couldn't read it.

The young Gryffindor with the gray hair and wrinkles around his eyes leaned forward in his desk, trying to see how to write it. "DID YOU DO SOMETHING ELSE TO MAKE THE LETTERS ON THE BLACKBOARD BLURRY?" He SHOUTED throughout the classroom without raising his hand in the air. He wasn't really realising he was doing it though because it sounded normal in his own ears and then slowly, holding his lower back, he walked to the front to stand near the blackboard. "AH MUCH BETTER!"

Everything was going alone fine, as fine as things could go given the circumstances when all of a sudden it was as if somebody turned the volume down.

Was she going mental. She could see lips moving, but that was it. "Professor, why are you whispering? I can't hear you!" What was he playing at anyways? Didn't he know that she would already not in the mood?

Oh, okay. He had deaf students? No, because he KNEW they could hear. "OOOOIII, STOP YELLING!" he shouted right back. What was their problem? "If you can't bother paying attention the first time, feel free to leave." Maybe they should get their hearing checked, Merlin. AND their eyes. Piers squinted at them. "I didn't do anything to the blackboard. Go back to your seat, kid."

Anyway...

"Onto the practical portion! Everyone get out your wands. You will be charming your water goblets and then drinking it. If applied correctly, you will be taken to whatever daydream you wish. To perform this spell, you will say the spell while circling your wand over the water. While doing so, create a CLEAR IMAGE in your mind of what you want your daydream to be like. Once you do, you can take a drink of your water to test out the charm. If you want, you may choose a partner to have drink your water." That could be dangerous. And also entertaining.

"Everyone watch me." Wand in hand, Piers stepped over to his desk where a goblet of water was to demonstrate on. Imagining the daydream in his mind, he pointed his wand at the water and circled it around a few times. "Sentio Somnium," he said, and a pale purple string of light slipped into the goblet and then disappeared. "Just like that. Everyone give it a go and test it out. If it didn't work, try again."

OOC: Feel free to make as many posts as you want (within reason), but you have to make at least three posts for full credit. If you have questions, just ask! You have about 36 hours to complete this -- PLENTY OF TIME.
