Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Daisy had been lured by the delightful smells that were coming from the food stands. Her stomach gave a small rumble as she headed over to order some food. The number of choices was a bit overwhelming and she was having some trouble deciding. She hoped that she would meet a certain former Charms professor. Daisy was missing Gaston. Could she call him Gaston now?
Rylee shrugged her shoulders a little bit in reply to Stefan. "I don't know... maybe? But that's why we're getting something to munch on first." That way even if they get bored with waiting in line... which they wouldn't cause she was Rylee and she would find something to do while waiting... they at least wouldn't have to be hungry. "I wonder what type of rides they even have here... do you think there's a coaster?!" That would be epic. From the top of a roller coaster they could see all of the carnival!
This place was sooooo hectic it was a little hard to focus on just one thing. Her mind was running a million miles a second, the sounds, smells, lights and people. It was overwhelming and if she hadn't learned to somewhat control her urges to wander off towards anything shiny and interesting she would have been long gone. Good thing she was still holding onto Stefan's hand rather tightly to remind herself not to disappear on him.
While standing in line though she pretty much took notice to everything! "There's games and a petting zoo! Where going to stop there too, right?" There was a near pleading look in her blue eyes as she fixed her gaze on the boy at her side. Pleeeeease! She had to go see the creatures!
Hmm? Oh, yeah, yeah. Right. They were getting food. With a little bit of effort she pulled her thoughts together and turned back to Stefan. "Uhhh... Do you want to share a frappe or fizzing lemonade with me?" Look at her offering to share a frappe! And as for food... "Split a cheeseburger? Oh, they have chocolate frogs and blood pops, Stef!" Rylee cast him a look, a small smirk playing across her lips.
"A coaster? Umm, I don't see any muggle ones here. But I heard there's a "Zouwu" coaster. We should head there and see how it is. It sounds really cool!" Stefan told her. "Imagine riding on a legendary creature's back!" he grinned, feeling excited.
Lots to see and experience in this carnival, he thought. Stefan couldn't wait to explore them with Rylee. He nodded, agreeing with her. And awww...how could he say no to her puppy-looking eyes. "Of course we can, Lee. But we need to finish the food first. And yeah, let's share the fizzing lemonade and burger. That way, we can have more time seeing the other sites." The quicker they finished their food, the better.
Did she say blood pops? Stefan couldn't help but smirk back at Rylee. "Let's buy two. Cece might want some." His little sister would throw a tantrum if he didn't bring back home some goodies from the carnival. Best to be prepared for the unexpected.

"Well of course there isn't a muggle coaster here, silly, this is a wizarding carnival after all," Rylee teased lightly grinning at him. "A Zouwu coaster?! We have to go have a look at it! We have to!" It was a creature. And a coaster. There was noway she wasn't going to go over and have a look. "Why just imagine it if we can do it? I say we ride it!" Mhmm. It was decided. They were going to ride that Zouwu coaster.
Eeeeeee! Rylee squealed in delight, literally bouncing on the heels of her feet. "Yes, yes, okay, right. Food first and then... we can go pet all the creatures!" Beaming brightly at Stefan she nodded fast in agreement to them sharing a a fizzing lemonade and a burger.
Yes, yes she did say that. "I knew you wouldn't turn that down." Giving him a gentle nudge, the smirk still in place on her lips, she moved up a few steps in line. They were next and it was a good thing too as now she was getting hungry also!

Mr. Balloons laughed a hearty laugh and rubbed a blown balloon against the girls hair. "Darling, y'want hands? I give ya hands!" He could. He would.

Siobhán didn't get to finish her sentence because then the balloon man did THAT. "OI! That's my HAIR!!!!" Not funny. She did not appreciate it. Not one bit. She frowned at the balloon man and took a step back.

Palmer felt uncomfortable and he had been trailing behind Drewett for a while now. They'd been given permission to go off and explore the carnival themselves and to return promptly to their care workers at a certain time... but Palmer did not want to explore by himself. The thought made him sick. And so he stuck with one of the only people that he cared to be around. Drewett Slinkhard.
One of the only other residents that Palmer trusted.
Usually, Palmer found speaking quite difficult and it would be normal for him to walk alongside someone without speaking but as he fell into step with Drewett.. his voice fell out strong. "Food is very expensive.."
Mr. Balloons knew when a girlie wanted a balloon. And that girlie was a girlie that wanted a balloon. With a wave of his hand and a laugh from his gut, he was beside her and her friend.
"Ya girlie wants a balloon. Whatta y'want, girlie?"

He got in line behind a girl who looked about his age. It was as if she couldn’t decide what to have. He sat thinking about if he should even say something. But he figured it wouldn’t hurt anything. “Funnel cakes dusted are my favorite thing to get at somethin’ like this.” he stood a fair distance away as to not come off in a weird way. But he was sugggesting food and now he felt so ridiculous.

She much preferred her own company. So she wasn't really into talking. People mostly annoyed her, and she didn't have the longest fuse. She often would open her mouth too. It wasn't good. Hopefully it would be okay today. She would get her food, and be on her way. Maybe she could bring back Miles another time. He was the only person she didn't mind the company off.
She looked behind her as someone talked to her. Did she look like she wanted to talk? No. That was thhe answer to that. "Funnel cake sounds weird" She mused. That was probably the only thing she was actually going to say. Yep. That was all you are getting mate.

Perhaps Drewett still needed to work on his being observant, because he didn't notice that Palmer was following him around until he had paused in front of one of the food stands to check their menu out. When he heard the younger Ravenclaw's voice, his head immediately turned to his side and he left out a tiny breath. Maybe he should have expected it, as Drewett knew Palmer well enough. Being alone in a seriously crowded place didn't sit well for the both of them.
But he didn't mind. The younger boy was allowed to trail behind him anytime. Drewett used to do the same when he was younger too, whether it be behind Jordan or Mercy before she was adopted. He still kind of missed having her around. "....Are you hungry?" the fourteen-year-old asked, scanning the menu yet again. "We can sssplit... if you want." He hoped each serving was big, otherwise Drewett would have a serious headache and problem with the overpricing in here.

Why did this kid keep talking to her? Though he did appear to get that she didn't want to talk too much since he didn't come too close to her when the line moved. That was good. Her body language was obviously saying that she did not want to talk. Good work there. "Some of that food looks pretty normal" Melody shrugged, motioning towards the menu. Hamburgers and chips were pretty normal. They were some of Melody's favourite food to be honest. Maybe she would get that.
She eyed the boy one more moment, before turning back away and looking at the line. There were still far too many people for her liking. It was a bad idea coming to this carnival, especially when she didn't like people. Maybe she'd get her food and then go back to Stemp House. That sounded like a plan

This particular former lion was on duty. Ronan felt like he owed it to his training since he'd bailed out on that security sweep the other day. Not that he'd heard much about it aside from Mr. McCullough's raised brow, but still. So, here he was sitting at a table with his order of loaded nachos and a fizzing lemonade, trying to blend in as much as possible while also keeping on eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Which wasn't actually that hard, to be honest. Most of the people around here were either Hogwarts age or his own age and he actually recognized a few from his own not-so-long-ago Hogwarts years. Basically, it was almost like being on rounds back when he'd been Head Boy.
Hmm...wonder who held that distinction now...?

Clutching at his grandma's fingers with one and his other hand, his thumb in his mouth, Apollo was just waddling alongside her. His attention EVERYWHERE at the sights and sounds and smells. And then he spotted it. "...'loon" he removed his thumb from his mouth to point at the balloon man. Cause what four year old didn't want a balloon? Not this one!
Torii had already watched a big show, and now she and her aunt were wandering around looking for something to eat. She was starving! Stumbling upon the menu, the fourteen-year-old stopped to figure out what she wanted to eat. Mac and cheese in a waffle cone? Eww. That sounded awful, but who knew? Maybe it was good. Torii didn't want to be the one to experiment with that, though. Street tacos sounded good, and so did the nachos.
Spotting the queue, Torii joined it, positioning herself behind some lady who was suggesting the mac and cheese in a waffle cone for a little boy. Poor kid. Did he say 'loon'? At first, Torii thought he'd been calling somebody a crazy person, but apparently he meant balloon. Ahh. That made sense. "He can have mine if he wants," Torii said. She held a red balloon in her hand, a gift from her aunt that she honestly felt silly holding.

The card shark tucked some of her dark hair behind her ear. She then went back to shuffling the cards in her hands as her eyes scanned the area. She, so far, hadn't had many bites, but that was fine. Some days were better than others.
She perched at an empty seat across from someone with... nachos.

She held a red balloon in her hand, a gift from her aunt that she honestly felt silly holding.
Amelia was already quite ready to go track down the Balloon guy because she would give her grandson the world if she could, but then some girl apparently offered hers and Mia did a double-take to see if it was one of her best friends kids. Nope, it wasnt. But the girl might be a future student, or judging from her young appearance maybe a friend of one her friend's kids. "Oh, awfully kind of you dear. Thank you. Say thank you, Apollo." She lookes at the toddler sternly who happily took the balloon and Mia quickly worked to tie the end around his wrist. "You go to Hogwarts, dear?" When had she started calling people dear?
The young boy looked from his grandma to the other girl who offered him her balloon and he found himself confused. She didn't LOOK familiar and yet surely Grandma wouldn't be trusting of anyone, would she? And yet next he knew she was tying the string around his wrist and he grinned. Which was as good a thank you as any from the small child. Until his grandma said something that redirected his attention from the balloon "'ogwarts!!! 'Ogwarts!"Clearly one of the first words he learned.

"They do their job," Ronan replied with a shrug. Honestly, it wouldn't hurt the cook to be introduced to the concept of salt and pepper, at the very least, as the meat was pretty bland. But he was polite enough not to say so out loud.

She nodded slowly, her eyes still on the plate of nachos. She figured that was about as glowing a review as was possible. It was a shame. It would be more convenient for her if the food nearby was edible, but at least she hadn't come to the revelation herself.
She shuffled the deck in her hands again, this time, atop the the table.

Do you want to share a milkshake or something?" Or they could each get their own, it was just that Indigo wasn't all that thirsty so sharing one would be fine. Plus, sharing could be romantic.

He followed the scent to several nearby food stands. the closer he got, the more his mouth watered and his stomach growled. Shifting Desiree to one arm, he checked his watch and saw it was well over an hour past lunchtime. No wonder Desiree was so cranky!
He got in line for the stands, perusing the menus for something Desiree could eat, and while he was looking, he thought he saw someone familiar. Was that-? "Daisy?" he said, and his face brightened as he got a better lok at her. "Hello! How's your summer going?"

She paused. "Is this your daughter? What a sweetheart! Hello, my name's Daisy," she said with a smile.

Not that Ansel always won, but he'd asked Indigo on this date. He wanted to be the one to pay for it and to make sure that Indigo had the best time ever. It wasnt often that a carnival came into town, and he had a boyfriend to share that with. He gave Indigo a quick cheek kiss and smiled. "Nachos it is! Ill get us a drink to share." Because sharing was caring after all.
Ansel went up to the food vendor and ordered a large drink and then some nachos. He paid for it and grabbed the food before returning to Indigo shortly. "Wanna see if we can find a bench to sit on and watch some of the action going on while eating?" He asked while handing the nachos over to Indigo.
