Upper FloorsIt becomes more airy as you make your way to the upper floors of the castle. Here the tallest towers can be accessed and just maybe you will discovery somewhere that if you have to ask, you'll never know but if you know, you need only ask.
The legendary portable swamp created by Fred and George Weasley was once large enough to consume the entire fifth-floor corridor. Needless to say, this greatly irritated the notorious Dolores Umbridge when there were no instructions on how to remove it and the then teachers didn't seem to mind that it was there. Today a small section of the swamp remains, roped off in tribute of the redheaded twins' historic act of protest.
When you are getting close to this reserved section of the corridor, you will know without question. The remaining swamp still smells like an authentic swamp, look like an authentic swamp, bubbles like an authentic swamp, and will indeed suck you in if you cross over the rope and step in it. Avoid the Weasley swamp with care is the best advice you should heed while on the fifth floor, especially if you're running late to class. While it must have been an impressive and humorous sight back in the mid-90's, just praise Merlin that you don't have to make your way across today.
Xerxes was still having trouble locating the Charms classroom. He had wandered up through four more floors, as well as several moving staircases and a trap door, when he came upon a most unusual scene.
Laid out before him was a small patch of real live SWAMP! Xerxes couldn't make heads or tails of it. Nothing like this had been observed by him thus far on his meandering journey through Hogwarts Castle, while he attempted to find his first class.
Xerxes wearily approached the small patch of marshy swamp. The smell was unbelievable. A large gas bubble expanded and then popped, releasing even more foul odor into the surrounding air.
How was he ever gonna find the Charms classroom at this rate???
"Hello? Can anyone help me? I really need to find the Charms classroom. I don't wanna be late on my first day? Hellllllllllloooooooo? Anybody there?" Xerxes yelled out the corridor at large.

"Wrong floor, home fry!" One of the benefits of having not one, but two parents that had gone to school in this giant castle? They had made sure she knew where things were. Most things, anyway. Definitely her classes. One thing they couldn't have prepared her for, though? Just how bad that swamp smells. Blegh!
"They should slap an air hazard warning on that thing." Or weren't there some charms (ha, speaking of charms!) they cast to get rid of that smell? Because, ew.

"Wrong floor, home fry!" One of the benefits of having not one, but two parents that had gone to school in this giant castle? They had made sure she knew where things were. Most things, anyway. Definitely her classes. One thing they couldn't have prepared her for, though? Just how bad that swamp smells. Blegh!

“Oh geez. I must have missed it. I’ve already been to more than half the floors in this giant castle. Thanks for the help. So what floor should I be on?” Xerxes asked politely. He thought to himself that a map of this place would sell big. Or else sign posts or a floor guide. He pinched his nose because the smell was really starting to get to him.
“My name is Xerxes by the way. I really appreciate the assist. I’m running late as it is. It’s a good thing I left the Great Hall after breakfast early today.” Xerxes explained, smiling at the girl and extending a friendly hand to shake hers with.

"They tend to practically draw you a map of the place." Actually, she was pretty sure that if her dad had any artistic skills, he would've drawn that map, but anyway.

“What a thoughtful and analytical question; I’m impressed. It was, in fact, from the Entrance Hall up. So therefore, yes, I must have passed it already without knowing it. But now I know exactly which floor I need to be on, so it’s full steam ahead, I suppose.” Xerxes replied, smiling and returning the firm handshake offered by the young student.
“It’s really a pleasure to meet you, Kayla. That’s great about your parents. Make sure and tell them how much you appreciate them, now that you’ve seen what it looks like when you don’t have parents quite as informative as your own. Are you on your way to Charms too? I’m not sure if the Hufflepuff’s have Charms with the Gryffindor’s or not; it’s my first lesson.” he inquired of his new acquaintance. While he was patiently waiting for an answer, he did however start to slowly meander back toward the Moving Staircase so that he could make his way down to the third floor in time for Charms class.
