 Tucked amid London's busy streets and buildings, being a roughly six-minute walk from the Ministry entrances, is St. James's Park. Covering 57 acres and featuring a small lake with two islands, there is plenty to explore. Entering the park from Horse Guards Road to the east, one will find themselves near a park pavilion and quaint cottage. From the Mall to the north is a gate kiosk, drinking fountain, and a tiny coffee shop. Walking far enough west, one will stumble upon the Vitoria Memorial, Buckingham Palace, and the park's playground. The rest of the park provides a number of trails and a bridge that gives access across the lake from the south end of the park to the north.
On a sunny day, the park is a perfect getaway, especially during one's lunch break or after clocking out of work. It is is an excellent place to have a picnic under the shade of a tree, enjoy watching the waterfowl and resident colony of pelicans idly swimming in the lake, or go for a stroll or a run along the trails with a friend before having to venture back into the loud, bustling city.

It is a beautiful summer day at St. James Park. Its calm lake waters are littered with waterfowl who lazily bob up and down with the occasional gentle undulation of the water caused by ripples from a stone or two tossed into the lake by children playing on the bank or oars from one of the many row boats gracing the surface of the water. The entire scene seems as though it has leapt right off a postcard, completely picturesque and ---
...oh...
The stillness and serenity of the lake vanished as every feathered friend suddenly took flight all at once and dispersed among the trees and grassy bank circumnavigating the lake. Another kind of stillness gripped the scene and if you were of particularly remarkable hearing you may just so happen to hear the slosh of water against the bank or burp of a muddy bubble. The water rose, a couple of centimeters...then a meter...then three, and the bank collapsed into sudden drop offs here and as grass disappeared beneath lake water.

After leaving the Muggle Studies post at Hogwarts, Kaysha had gone back to teaching in the Muggle World. But no. You’d be wrong if you thought that she had forsaken the Wizarding World. How could she? Having magical blood was who made her who she was as much as having muggle blood.
On this fine day, she decided to take a stroll in the Park that would culminate with her meeting her adopted daughter later in Diagon Alley for some shopping. Afterwards, the forty eight year woman had planned to take the younger woman to a surprise dinner. Mother-daughter dates were-
The hasty departure of the waterfowls easily won her attention. Instinctively, she reached for her wand, half expecting another Dark Wizard to make an appearance, much like the ones she had fought at Hogwarts a few years ago. Kay stood still, heart thudding in her chest. The thudding made it difficult to hear clearly the bubbling and slosh but she was sure she heard… something. There was a rather audible gasp from her as bits of the bank and grass disappeared in water. WHAT THE ACTUAL -???
