Default Rules and Expectations

IC RULES
  1. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Professor Eris’ classroom door closes promptly at the start of the lesson, opening it will result in the loss of house points.
  2. Wear your school uniform. Please make you are presentable before entering the classroom.
  3. No snacks, unrelated material or other distractions will be allowed inside his classroom. Water is permitted as long as you are careful. If this is mistreated, water will also not be allowed in the future.
  4. Be respectful. Any inappropriate behaviour towards Professor Eris or your fellow students will cause disruptions to the lesson, heavy loss of house points and your immediate removal from the classroom.
  5. Complete relevant reading assignments and all homework prior to attending your lessons. We have a lot to get through in our lessons, Professor Eris expects you to be active in your own education. He simply asks that you try your best.

OOC RULES
  • All SS Rules and SSRPG Rules apply to all of my lessons.
  • Professor Eris is a 70-ish year old man with Welsh and Scottish heritage but me, well I’m just a Scottish quine who RPs a lot. Unfortunately as much as I love Wales, I don’t have their heritage in me. Please don't get us confused. Any in-character (IC) interactions is directed solely at your character and not yourself as an RPer. Any out-of-character (OOC) interactions will be far removed from the RP and usually handled through PMs.
  • This is likely obvious, but following on from the first two points: IC rule breaking will be dealt with IC and OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishments. If you have any questions about this, please PM me here.
  • Plagiarism is not welcome in any capacity, within my classes. Please don’t take credit for something you didn’t write yourself. Individual thought and characters knowing - or not knowing - the answer to questions in class gives it a unique, very real feeling. There are no right or wrong answers, so please do not edit your posts if you see an idea you like better than your original answer. I will know that you have edited your post. You have the ability to get 20 points per class, regardless of your answer.
  • Never god mod. Ever. Don't do it. Do not assume someone's character has done something that their RPer has not specifically stated in their post. If you're unsure, ask! SS has a variety of great Messaging systems for these very reasons. Who knows, you could meet your new best friends by interrupting or joining in with new characters you haven’t played with before.
  • Please read the house point rubric that the school staff has in place, to understand how we calculate the points per lesson.
    Text Cut: Points Rubric

For participating in any lesson, you can earn up to 20 points. You can always earn house points even if your character answers questions wrong. Points are awarded based on active participation and creativity, I cannot stress that enough.

This is a basic guide for how I will allocate points:

    Arrival - 2 points possible
    Questions 1 & 2 - 6 points possible (3 per question)
    Practice/Mini Activity - 4 points possible
    Practice/Main Activity - 8 points possible
  • And finally, and this one is the most important yet, enjoy yourself!!! I cannot stress this enough! If your character is a troublemaker, fantastic. Is transfiguration their best subject and they try to answer everything first? Incredible. Do they need extra remedial help? Come and talk to Professor Eris and I, and we can sort that out. We’re all here to RP and to have fun, so enjoy the term!!
