The Clock Tower Entrance is one of the three main entrances of Hogwarts Castle (the other two being the Viaduct Entrance and the main Entrance Hall). It aligns with the third-floor corridor, connecting with the courtyard that stems off to the Wooden Bridge and the rest of the school grounds. This large open space can be magically sealed with a portcullis and the massive double doors can be locked with numerous bolts.

At the base of the Clock Tower is a large window that may cause you to question why it is even there as all you can see out of it is the side of a building. Fortunately for you, the massive steel and iron pendulum swinging back and forth will likely pull you out of trying to figure out that mystery. If you look closely at the suspended weight, an imprint of a many armed star in the middle and a number of runic symbols on the outer rim can be seen. Study the purposeful design on the pendulum as long as you like. Just don't fall into temptation of swinging from it and pretending to be a wrecking ball.

Jacoby was avoiding getting his work done today. He had absolutely zero desire to work on the potions essay. Brewing Potions was absolutely phenomenal but writing about them was the most boring part of the class. He liked making things go boom and smoke, not when he's got to talk about why it booms and smokes. Come on who actually enjoys that portion of the potions class?

Instead he had his journal out with his notes on how to create the most memorable prank the castle had ever seen. His pen was scratching across the paper drawing diagrams and other thoughts of ideas for pranks.

Someone who did not care for pranks, mostly because she never understood them to be pranks and therefore the entire purpose lost upon her, Mitsuki was doing what Mitsuki did best: wander aimlessly and follow the little sparkles of dust from sunlit window to sunlit window. She too had homework that needed tending to, but until Mercer (because Mercer was the more likely to keep her on the academic track than Milo and even that was saying something) reminded her or sat her down to do so...it was most likely to remain resting in the bottom of her school bag or tucked away in her textbook.

Today her wanders brought her to the clocktower where, she observed, someone sat with intense focus on the sketchbook in his lap. Never one to interrupt a deep thought or another's actions, the Ravenclaw instead glided beyond him while continuing to hum a tune that had been stuck in her head since late September. She could not remember where she knew it from, but she was not fussed on searching for information she must have subconsciously thought unnecessary to keep. Or perhaps a thought that had been gifted to her by a Koto furunushi.

Jacoby heard humming. Humming that wasn't coming from him deep in thought. He lifted his head glancing around trying to find the source of it. It was nicer than his humming which was deep and his mom complained that it sounded like something vibrating. His eyes landed on a girl who looked familiar but he couldn't place where he had seen her before. He couldn't tell if she saw him or if she was engrossed in what she was looking at. "I like that tune." Not that he actually knew what it was, but he wanted to be sure she knew.

He placed his pen in his book and placed it on the floor beside him. He continued to watch her move around from window to window with no real urgency or rhyme. He could appreciate that.

Her humming continued and soon the Ravenclaw found herself swaying this way and that in rhythm to the swinging pendulum. All the way to the right so that she had no choice to lift up on to her toes on her right foot and extend her left in an almost ballerina pose. It was nothing of the sort, but it was likely someone could draw such a comparison. Mitsuki did, after all, have a background in dance...it just usually came accompanied with an very large and heavy calligraphy brush. The pendulum swung back towards the left, and so too did Mitsuki - this time her arms following the movement as well.

She was not sure if her peer's words were meant to be directed at her or simply innocent observation, but she did suddenly recall additional information to the tune upon her lips and that was that she was learning to play it on both the piano and violin. Both these little anecdotes seemed irrelevant to his observation, however, and it hardly felt necessary to boast about her musical endeavors without prompt. Saying nothing was, as had been pointed out to her by reliable sources, off putting and so she made a little more effort. "I like it too."
