Wand Shooting Range

Try your wand arm at the Wand Shooting Range, where the brave test their magical prowess! Enter the hedge maze with your wand at the ready!

The aim of the game is to make your way through our overgrown maze and take down as many dummies as you can. Dummies will pop out at the unwary witch or wizard from every angle and will disappear quickly. The fast carnival-goer must stun the dummy right in the center of its target before it disapparates. Be careful of where you aim; pellets filled with odorous liquids have been placed in strategic places around the maze. If you misfire and hit a pellet, the liquid will squirt at you; this is similar to how gobstones will squirt losing players with nasty-smelling liquid.

Winners will be easily recognizable: wizards and witches who are victorious will exit the maze unscathed and without the smell of the foul liquid about them. The number of dummies stunned by a player will be marked on a counter that can be found at the maze's exit.

Raven and her parents walked by the maze; they saw a wizard come out with an bloody knee. "Um, I don't feel like getting hurt and I'm not sure how to use a wand. Plus, I haven't even gotten my wand yet, so that game probably isn't for me...." Raven was wishing that she could prove herself though...
"Smart decision honey, smart decision." Raven's father looked around. "Let's go look at Bouncy Hogwart's Castle!"
Raven looked up at him. His chisled face looked excited. "What the heck, let's go!" she said excitedly.

Cove skippe Dover to the wand shooting range. She thought it might be a good idea, but wanted to wait until there was someone that she knew to do it with her. Wasn't Emily good with a wand? Maybe she would show up! :)

Emily was in a sort of day dream as she walked around the fair. It had been a fun and long day. She was just thinking of heading home when she noticed... "Cove!" She went over to her friend and looked at the booth. " Wand shooting range? Cool! Want to do it?" It would be fun! Afterall, she was quite good with a wand ;)

"Emily!!!!!!" Cove exclaimed hugging her friend with such force that she even knew she was choking her. "Sorry." She replied letting go. "Sure I was actually hoping you were going to show up!"

He was using the end of his wand to pick at his teeth. It was his favorite pasttime. Well other than catching frogs, but they hadn't set up next to a pond so there he was picking his teeth. That sill saltwater taffy he bought at the muggle shops always stuck to his teeth. Adam looked up as a pretty witch walked over to the maze. "Of course there is a price." he said tucking his wand behind his ear. "For you darling its two galleons." he held out his greasy hand to snatch away her money.

He leaned against the hedge of the maze as the two witches did their girly thing. He didn't too much care for the little ones. They screamed and cried too much for his taste. "You girls looking to try your luck in my maze for 3 galleons?" he asked them with a croaked smile.

Emily quickly caught her breath after the hug. Wow, Cove was strong! "It's fine..." she said rubbing her neck. She turned back to the shooting range and felt her hand nearing the wand in her pocket. "Aw, it's nice to know I'm wanted!" she laughed, then nodded to the range. "I'm up for it if you are. We could be a team! Watch each others backs you know?" She thought it was a good idea anyway.

She jumped at the sound of the man's voice. "Oh, um yeah." she galnced at Cove. This guy was kind of creepy. "3 galleons? Each?" she asked. That was such a rip off for a game where you could come out smelling like a hipogriffs behind. But she guessed her and Cove would probably pay that for having a good time together.

Kana paid no attention to the man's... condition. Carnies were rarely... normal. She nodded as he confirmed. "Of course...", she repeated. She ought to have re-phrased her question in the first place. She had a hand slid into her jeans before he even said what the price was. Two galleons. Not bad.

Pulling the coins out of her pocket, she handed over the money, avoiding as much actual contact with the man as possible. "Thanks," she said, automatically, out of politeness.

Anna walked up to the giant maze. She looked at the giant hedges and she heard screams and laughter coming within the maze. She waited outside for her friend to come meet her. So she pulled out The Rule Book and started reading to pass the time.

This was Elizabeth's first time being at the wand shooting range and she was really excited but kind of scared at the same time. but she was happy to see someone she knew she walked up to her friend, "Hi Anna." and smiles.

Selina led the way of her and Simon down and around the Carnival. As the pair passed Carnies and students that they knew a wave was exchanged or a smile. Then finally, after what seemed like a long walk, the two finally stopped and Selina ran toward a venue with her red hair flapping away behind her.

She then turned around to Simon with a smirk and said, "Fancy some shooting range?" Oh yes, this she would enjoy emmensly.

Anna smiled at her friend and closed her book and put it in her bag. She had one more chapter left and was quite pleased with herself, she was a very fast reader. "Hi Elizabeth!" Anna said happily hugging her friend. "Are you ready to go in the shooting range?" Anna asked her friend staring at the giant maze.

Simon followed along with Selina, not sure where they could be possibly be going but then he wasn't certain his companion knew either. They simply meandered through the crowds and the various booths and areas of the carnival until Selina suddenly ran off in one direction. It was probably a good thing for once she was easily reconizable as he took off after her, his longer stride making it easier despite the people he had to make his way through. His eyes alighting as he spotted her stopped by a maze, her question revealing before he read the sign what it in fact was.

"Are you challenging me...Miss Skylar?" he asked with a smirk at the thought. Defense was his best class...the NEWT score was proof of that.

Selina reached inside her holster and drew her wand. Once it was in plain sight she crossed her arms and threw a playful smirk on her face for good measure. Then she pretended to yawn and said, "Well I had a pretty good teacher, his name was Professor Bennett. Have you heard of him? Anyway Captain, my point is I think I can take you anytime, anywhere. I just think you're afraid of being beat by a third year."

She was playing with fire, that much she knew. Simon was notorious for his skills in DADA. In fact, she had heard, through the infamous rumor mill at Hogwarts, that he had gotten an awesome score on his DADA NEWT. And besides... her really good teacher was in fact him. But it was time for the teacher to become the student.

Elizabeth hugs her friend back and then looks at the huge maze in front of them and then back at Anna to answer her question, "Ummm...Yes and no" she laughs.

The older Gryffindor raised an eyebrow as he watched Selina, her antics amusing and he was trying his best not to laugh. "Hmm I may have..." he mused playing as if scratching his chin and thinking about it. Simon's expression changed from a thoughtful look to a bemused look as she repeated the challenge using his former title and her age as fuel to the fire to egg him onto agreeing as if he needed anything really.

"Well then we shall just have to see then, shouldn't we..." he said with a smirk. The older boy retrieving his own wand and making it secure in his grip before starting forward towards the entrance of the maze.

"Emily, I always need you! I would fail at life you weren't here!" Cove exclaimed. "I'm totally up for it." She said getting her wand out.

When the man running the game showed up and said it was three galleons Cove mouth dropped open. "THREE GALLEONS!?" She exclaimed. "That's ridiculous." She said more calm. Turning back to Emily she asked, "You still wanna do it?" Cove really didn't care about the money, but it was an outrageous price.

Aw! :glomp: Emily gave her friend another hug. "I'd fail at life if you weren't here as well!" Cove really was a good friend!

She tucked her hair behind her ear and thought about it. "Yeah, I guess." she said rolling her eyes at the man. It was a total rip off, but then again they were at a carnival. She took out her money and wand. "It just better be worth it..."

Selina blinked at Simon when he answered her. He was really going to do this? That was alright with her, it would give her a great amount of satisfaction beating her old Captain. Of course, she was just prepping herself for what would surely be an intense round of magic. She then took a step forward to the maze when Simon was already starting to beat her there. It seemed his gentlemen bit was gone. No matter, that would make it easier on her to duel him correctly. Selina had, after all, a wicked competitive streak.

Once the two were in front of the entrance she looked at him and waited for his next move, "You ready, Bennett?"

He gave the girl a crooked smile as she dropped the money into his hand, "Good luck," he told her as he stood aside for her to enter the maze.

Adam rolled his eyes as the girl repeated what he just said. "Yeah 3 galleons for the both of ya," he said wiping his hand on his waistcoat and holding out his hand for the money.

He was getting impatient now, "Well if you two want to be grown up you have to pay the grown up prices. Or you can go to the nursery and get your mommies to change your nappies," Adam sneered at the girls.

Adam held open his hand for the money, "You better be worth the time I spent on this maze," he shot back at the girl. She wasn't going to make it out smelling like roses and that gave him a little smile.

He glared at the two girls standing in front of his maze just standing. "There's a fee for standing you know," he grumbled. They were driving away all his other customers.

He looked over the two new victims to his maze, "3 galleons a piece," he told both of them. He never charged the same price for anyone and he was only charging the boy 3 because he was with a pretty girl.

"Uh huh of course I am, Skylar," Simon remarked meeting her gaze as she looked up at him before turning to the man in charge of the range as he mentioned what it cost to participate. Being a gentleman, when he reached into his pocket for his money, he dug out 6 galleons to cover them both. "That should do it," he mused handing the coins to the carnie.

"Now we see who can survive who," Simon said turning to Selina before retaking his wand in his right hand and entering the maze. The boy mentally debating making it a true challenge or holding back and finally making the decision to give her the challenge she seemed to truly want knowing her competitativness.

When the man had relayed to the two how much the fee would be Selina could not help but feel a little jaded. The previous people before them had only payed two galleons a piece. But it was not her place to say so she stuck her head down to look inside her wallet for three galleons. Once she had retrieved the correct change she saw that Simon had in fact payed her fare, "You didn't have to do that, but thank you. I get lunch though, deal?" She always felt weird about people paying for her... maybe it was because, like Simon, she was always the friend who felt obligated to pay.

But the moment of friendship was quickly over when Simon made his final comment before entering the maze. She grinned at him and drew her wand, "Oh yes, let's."

Selina took one step inside the maze and heard the crunch of the grass underneath her. For some reason the maze was eerily quiet. Almost so quiet that she could barely pick up on her own breathing. Then suddenly a dummy popped up in Selina's face and she shrieked. As soon as it was there it was gone. So this was how it was going to be... a concentrated game of whack-a-mole. Bring it on.

Anna looked at the crowd behind her. "Well... maybe we should go in." Anna took out her wand and headed in towards the maze with Elizabeth next to her.

Janice went to the wand shooting range, and went in the line to pay as she prepared her wand.
This looks fun! she thought.
