"Well... Dallas has... been out of the picture for a bit" she said softly, glad her sunglasses were on. She still cared about him- just... not like she cared for Philip. And she knew for a fact that Philip wouldn't just dump her when he was tired of her trying to make him a good guy. "I... yeah..." she said as the little promise ring on her finger glistened in the bright sunglight. "Ouch! Yeah, at Beauxbatons. We were like that... I was in the 'Popular Crowd' so to speak. I guess I still am, they're all my friends. And 'Belle" she sighed, she missed her friends, but at least she was seeing them all htis summer. A wide smile spread across her face- "Ooh, that is going to be like... so awesome!" she said excitedly- "I can't wait to come over, and you can come round to mine too!" she said with a sweet little clap of her hands.

Aurora smiled a little as the girl opened her eyes. "You fainted. Are you ok now? Does anything hurt?" she asked, ready to distribute painkillers if necessary.

Aurora chuckled, "Good for you. But still, be careful when you shake people's hands." she added, "Don't want to go setting any people on fire. That could get you expelled."

Aurora scowled all the more. "Don't. You. Dare. Mordaunt." she shouldn't even have mentioned it. She pushed her hair out of her eyes so he could glare at him with a clearer view.

OHMYGOODNESSLOOKATHIM! He was looking all bashful! That was just ADORABLE! Aurora smiled as he looked away, all embarrassed looking, and had to resist the urge to make him cuddle her. She may have been mean and sly on the outside but he was still a girl with a weakspot for cute things.

Aurora shrugged, "Well he didn't say anything... I think he was mire worried that I'd soak his robes... I was crying at the time. It was at school, when I found out about Krys getting worse... And hey! Stop reading my mind." she added, realising she had never actually admitted to apologising...

"Well I don't know what it's like but from the way he was talking about it I think it's a lot bigger than the carnival." she said, looking sown to all the performers. "Yep, that's all. Oh and school, we talked about how difficult third year will be..." she said, nice try Mordred. She though quietly, making an extra effort to block him from her mind.

What... O_____o "You were at Fortescues when that girl fainted? You must have heard, or at least seen, my conversation with Conan... Why did you have to ask about it? It's not like it was busy this morning." she looked at him, did he know?

"Do you have it with you?" Aurora asked, helpin the girl to sit up. "Do you need any water or anything?"

Mordred. She's just been unconscious. Be a bit nicer. Where's lovely Mordred gone? He was here seconds ago. she thought at him. He watched him deal with the mime. Thank goodness. It was really getting on her nerves.

Aurora had been kneeling next to the girl when, "Don't stand..." too late.
"HEY!" she stood in front of the kid. "Right you. Listen to me. You call him rude when all he has done when you've been unconscious is help. He didn't ask for you to faint on him- You were just stupid enough to forget your medicine. It's not like he's a healer! Me neither for that matter and I wish I'd left you. You're welcome by the way. There is no way you are going to make any friends with that sort of attitude so learn quickly or you will not fit it at Hogwarts!" she shouted at the little first year. She just could not tolerate people who were that rude and ignored the help they had been given. They reminded her of herself a year ago. No. That was unfair. At least she had always had manners.

"I'm not worried about me setting people on fire. I've been practicing the Impedimenta jinx back at the Room of Requirements...er...it's a simple defensive spell really, it's just that I think I'm overdoing it." he explained. "You see, I keep on blasting the dummies. I'm supposed to knock them off, not make them explode." he said with a worried tone.


Mordred laughed at her. "All right, all right I won't..." he said after his laughter subsided. "Aunty Rara." he smiled and tugged her curls softly.



Mordred listened as she discussed her morning with Conan. He wasn't really interested with how Conan and Aurora settled their differences, but now that she mentioned that he must have seen them together, the boy was able to confirm that it was Conan that he saw. "So it was him!" he exclaimed. "Go on Aurora...spill the beans." he said as he threw his arm around her and looked at her with a knowing look.

"It's just stupid she forgot! What if we were not around?" he thought back at her. "She will be dead by now if it wasn't for you." he added.


Mordred stood shocked at the girl's words. "And that's the 'thanks' I deserve?" he spatted out. "You could have died if it wasn't for me!" he added. "Oh and that mime? I'll give you a choice, A- Somebody pulls that man from his death even if it's against his will, or B- Leave that mime to do his silly thing and die in the the name of entertainment." he said angrily. "You seem to be a know-it-all. Go on, let's hear it." he challenged her.

*Blink*

Mordred looked from Beatrice to Aurora and back to the little firstie, unsure of what to do. After hearing out what Aurora had to stay, his anger toward Beatrice subsided. He stepped in between them and held on to Aurora's arm. "Let go, she's a first year. She'll know what it's like to not have friends once she's in Hogwarts." he whispered in her ear as he glanced behind him to see Beatrice. He knew too well what it's like to not have friends.

Aurora chuckled, nodding "Yes, I know what you mean. The first time I tried the stinging hex I managed to put a burning cross on the dummy's chest." she smiled as she remembered, "But I guess it's more helpful than it not working at all." she added.

Aurora narrowed her eyes, "I swear Mordaunt. You're lucky I like you. Be careful though; you are trying my patience. Wouldn't want me to be practicing that stinging hex again would we." Honestly, if they were on the playground he would be pulling her pigtails... Oh. "Mordred will you get off my hair!" she shook her red curls out and they fell over her shoulders. "Honestly. This hair just attracts boys. Is it something about the colour?" she grinned cheekily.

Aurora sighed inwardly, "Beans? What beans? There are no beans to be spilled! It was a boring old conversation. Anyway, why didn't you join us if you saw me? Got something to hide?" Aurora raised an eyebrow and tilted her head to the side. Again with the physical contact. Mordred was... Better. She liked nice Mord much more.

Aurora smiled, knowing it wasn't all because of her. She wouldn't be dead. Just a whole lot more disorientated an probably still unconscious. But she'd have recovered eventually. I think.


Aurora stopped as she felt Mordred's hand on her arm and saw his face, she calmed down a bit. "It's just. I- No-one has the right to treat you like that. Especially when you've helped her." she realised she had her wand in her hand... Oops. She put it back into the holster. "Especially when all I'm trying to do is have a nice birthday and people keep fainting on me. It's infuriating. Not even one thank you! And I've wasted potions on these rude people!" she put her hand on Mordred's where he was holding her arm, she took a deep breath, calming a little and gently removed his grip. "It alright. I'm not going to curse her."

All happened so fast, one second she opened her eyes, next Mordred saved the mime, came back to them , she insulted him and now Aurora is insulting her. Of course, she is shocked at the moment, she felt her hands shaking, turning numb and cold. Just what happened to her ? Was these the effects of all the miseries she'd been through ?Is this what happens when she forgets to take that damn medicine ?! How come her emotions were uncontrollable ? She's hating herself more and more. She slowly faced Aurora who was now a little calm but obviously still mad at her. "Happy Birthday. " she started in a slow voice. "I am sorry for the racket that I've caused. I know I'm partly to blame but please don't tell me that I don't know what it feels to be alone." she swallowed and turned to Mordred. "And..that was really brave of you Mordred. I should have commended you for that. Sorry.." Beatrice felt her eyes burn.. No ! She was not going to cry on front of these people. She'd been through enough already. But before she knew it, tiny drops of tears slowly made their way down her cheeks. She wiped them forcefully. "I apologize for acting like a spoiled brat but please stop calling me a kid 'cause you don't know what I've been through." shaking her head, she slowly headed for the staircase.

Aurora scowled, "I never said you didn't know what it was like. I just mean that you'll never get friends if you go on like this." she said.

"I don't know what you've been through? I'm sorry, but a sob story is not going to make me feel any differently. Everyone I know has stuff going on. Trust issues, dead parents, ill sibling, abusive family. Everyone has something. You are not special. Now I'm sorry if you think your life sucks but you're only eleven. It's not going to be the same forever. Might get better but chances are it'll get a whole lot worse first. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go and enjoy the rest of my birthday with my friend. Go take your medication." Aurora sighed, turned away and walked off, gesturing to Mordred to follow.

"Come on, let's go get donuts." she said to him, stalking off.

Strike ! Aurora hit her. Yes, she was not special. She never did felt that way before. The world's just too cruel. Everything in her life is falling apart, she's just 11 but she's gone through a lot. Really ...
When Aurora called Mordred to go, Beezus stopped walking and let them go on ahead. When the couple were a a few steps in front of her(they didn't bother looking at her when they passed), she returned to the rest area, to the same bench she had lied down. She watched those people in the Carnival, involuntarily, tears dropped again.

It had been a rather strange day for Zevran, a boy who not so recently even knew he had these.. "powers". Knowing that his whole 15 years of life has been some sham of a lie, he would have liked it to have been a better lie. Like him being adopted or being switched at birth. Not something that was completely ridiculous as being a wizard.

He shook his head, trying to free himself from the perplexing thoughts that plagued his mind. Pushing a distressed tuft of bangs from his face, he noticed someone in the corner of his eye. White hair? What was he going to see next, a talking cat or something? "Uh, hello." He said, eyes cast to look at the boy more clearly. He wondered if his words were to heavily accented. Thankfully he learned English as a child or going to this school would be even worse.

He picked up the notebook and pocketed it into the inside of his jacket before reaching out a hand for the boy to shake. He looked fairly his age and even if the boy too was a wizard, it wouldn't hurt to know someone right now. "Name is Zevran."

Mordred did let go of Aurora and listened to her lash out on Beatrice. As Aurora made her way to the stairs, he rushed to her side, "I'm sorry about this..." he said. He looked back to see a crying Beatrice, wondering how miserable her life is. "Wait." he told Aurora and made his way toward her.


What was he doing? Yes, she's upset and most probably he'll end up being slapped by her. "Have yourself checked with the healer as soon as we get in to Hogwarts." he said as he looked back to see Aurora. "What she did was just temporary." he added. "Bye." he nodded and ran back to Aurora.

"And all because of an apple core." he told himself as they made their way down to Diagon Alley.

Aurora scowled as she watched Mordred run up to the girl. "I don't know why you're telling her that. She just forgot her medication. Chances are whatever it is will be solved with magic before we know it." she muttered. "Anyway, I can't be bothered with people like her. Where do you think they'll sell donuts? I really fancy some cinnamon ones..." she said as they walked down the steps, stomping ever-so-slightly.

Evangeline hadn't been very useful afterall but she would make it up to this girl. She had watched the arguement not knowing what to do and she'd been to scared to get in the way of people older than her.

Evangeline approached the girl slowly, trying not to scare her. She watched as tears began to fall down the girls cheek. "I'm sorry i was no help back there but i'm glad your alright. Are you actually ok though?" She asked the girl. Reaching into her pocket she offered the girl a tissue to wipe away the tears.

Cove listened as Dani told her about Dallas. But once she saw a ring she grabbed Dani's hand. "What is this!?" She asked her friend. "It's so pretty." Cove said looking at it. "I was more known as the school.....brat. To put it nicely. I have a big ego." Then Cove grew up and learned that boys mean nothing compared to surfing. Unless they were Connor. "Yeah, My family is really excited to meet you. There will be some other friends there as well, probably." She said smiling.

Dani couldn't help but smirk a little- "A promise ring" she laughed as she watched Cove and smiled- "I know... it's lovely" she said softly as she sighed a little and smiled to herself. "Luke, Connor and numerous other people think he's getting too serious... but I don't" she sighed as she smiled reassuringly at Cove- "But my twin likes it, so... if he's got the twin vibes that Philip is good. Then I know it's a good thing" she said with a nod before hearing what Cove said and laughed- "Yeah... we were pretty bratty" she admitted with a little sigh. "Oooh sounds awesome, and we can go surfing right?" she asked.

Ohhh, he wished he could wipe that grin of her face, it was mocking him, but at least she finished laughing and giggling. "Yep," he answered but there was an other reason, "and... errr... he still doesn't quite know about the existence of magic," it was an awkward thing to say, but it was the cold truth. He was planning on telling Luke, his son, about magic, but he never actually found the right moment.

The man raised his eyebrow, "You're not serious are you?" He thinks he just heard the most stupidest thing he ever heard his whole life. Most of the women he knows were responsible, but no one can say that a man is less responsible than a woman.

Hallelujah!!! A day off from work, even though two weeks he wasn't working, but he needed vacation, from his vacation. "Well, I think I'd better get going," he said getting ready to leave... Until, Marina went helping to the... awkward mime. Leon hates clowns and he thinks mimes are awkward. While Marina was doing all the hard work, Leon was standing next to her, looking at her actions. He really wasn't in the mood for doing something except... leaving.

Amethyst sighed softly watching the other people comunicate with each other. She felt lonely, sitting by herself like an antisocial girl. She was quiet, but loved to talk often to new friends. She sat there, Onyx, her Black Owl, was sleeping in her cage.

"A promise ring!?" Cove said smiling. "How lucky are you? So, have you heard from Connor at all? I haven't spoken to him since the day he told me -" Cove stopped. Did Dani know about Connor? "I mean since our day at the lake." She said instead. "Twin vibe is the best choice to go with." Cove smiled. "Of course we can go surfing! That's, like, my work, girl!"

Dani laughed- "I know... super lucky!" she said happily (OOC: I know she's not around, but we can just use artistic liscence, seen as Con and Dani practically live together) Dani sighed a little- "Yeah, he's been on and off staying in his room at our place" she nodded as she moved and took another sip of her drink. "Ahhh... well, I shall have to to tell that best friend of mine to talk to you then" she winked at Cove and smirked before nodding- "Well, I'm so on that! I can't wait!" she said excitedly, and she'd get a chance to talk to... well... she couldn't talk about that, but yeah!

Evangeline saw the girl sitting by herself looking rather lonely. She knew how that felt. Running a hand through her red hair she walked over to the girl.

"Hello, I'm Evangeline," she said holding out her hand. "I'm guessing that's your owl, I would have loved an owl but I got a kitten instead," she continued, gesturing to the cats travel cage in her hand.

She was crying, half-crying .. It was a day to remember.. More like a nightmare. She was stopping her tears form falling when Mordred approached her, there was nothing she could say.. She just stared at the face of the boy she hated so much but was now comforting her.. Damn that face ! She wanted to say thank you but chose not to..

She guessed Aurora could've been a great friend .. But with the circumstances . It was just not the right time.. But she made a mental note to apologize to her when the term starts at school ..

Beatrice looked up to see Evangeline, she reached for the tissue she was giving her.. "Thanks Eva .. I feel better now. Sorry if you had to see me like that. " she gave her an apologizing look ..

A young woman, or perhaps an older girl (her small stature made it hard to tell) sat awkwardly on one of the iron benches. "I am quite quiet," the woman whispered, "I am really relaxed. My left hand feels heavy and relaxed. My right hand feels heavy and relaxed..."

Her appearance, however, suggested otherwise. She clung to the whitewashed metal with white, strained hands, her short, stubby legs tucked under. Thin, dark brown locks, cropped in a blunt bob, made it hard to make out her face, but behind the mask of hair was a clammy expression, eyes squeezed shut, lips quivering to form each syllable.

She was a sight, simple yellow-checkered dress and white summer robes bright against the shockingly clear blue sky. Below, the bright lights and colors revolved and turned as delightful smells and wild voices drifted on the summer wind.

Cove laughed. "He doesn't have ta if he doesn't want to. He's probably just busy, right?" Please just say yes. Cove thought to herself. She pushed her hair out of her face. "Same here! Is Dan going to come too?"

Dani watched her closely- "I know he wants to. Believe me, I know him well" she laughed, remembering when she'd used to chase Connor round when they were little, oh the days. "Yeah, he's been pretty busy lately- I dunno what he gets up to sometimes, but he's been rushing about a lot" she said softly as she sipped on her drink again and smiled- "My twin? Yeah if you'd like him to!" she said softly with a big smile.

She was walking down the street when she saw these girls who are probably introducing themselves to one another. She looked rather jealous. She was alone and no one dared to talk to her from her journey in Diagon Alley, except from that girl Hebe she met at Sugarplum's. She asked her to accompany her at the train on September the first. Now, all she wanted is someone who could be with her all throughout. Hebe and Erin parted ways as they come from Magical Menagerie. Yes, she's bought all she needed but she wanted to have fun somehow. She sat at the nearest bench and watched each and every person that are probably not alone.

Christopher was honestly getting pretty tired of the Carnival. All of these kids just running and screaming- he couldn't take it anymore. He climbed up to the top of the stairs, leading to the grassy area's on the roof of Ollivander's, claiming sanctuary from all of the chaos. Sitting at a little table a bit further from the rest, he pulled out a book from his school bag, which he'd become very accustomed to carrying around with him. It was the book Selina had given him for his birthday a few years back- a book full of Shakespeare's works. As a complete literature geek, he fell in love with it, hardly going anywhere with out it.

He looked up over the railing down at everyone having a fun time at the carnival, lost in thought. He tried to think of how things would've been if his father hadn't passed away, or if his mum had sent them off, never to see Hogwarts again. He was forever grateful that the Skylars had taken him in, but it was still a little bittersweet, not being able to have a real family. Speaking of which..... he spotted the fiery red hair moving through the crowd with Violet and Elektra, and he couldn't help but grin, returning him to his book.

After spending some time down in the carnival proper spending some sibling time with Kacie, Gideon had managed to escape for a bit pawning his sister off on his parents. With the free time he headed up to where the rest area had been established, wandering to the edge as he took in the view having to admit it was quite an interesting one over the whole of the sounthern end of Diagon alley.

He stood there for a while before finally turning around, his gaze falling on some of the others who had taken refuge on the rooftop including a housemate of his seemingly engrossed in a book. "Guess I'm not the only one whose had enough of the carnival at the moment," he mused quietly walking closer to the Gryffindor from his year.
