"Lemonade knight," Paulie repeated, an amused grin forming. "That doesn't sound very intimidating." Then again, who was he to speak? Take a look at Paulie boy and 'intimidating' wasn't quite the first adjective to come to mind.

He nodded his head. The lip gloss did it, or so she said. "Huh. I'll have to get some.." Kidding.

Did Paulie have a girlfriend? Hah. "No, I don't.. but if I did, I'd expect she'd be pretty mad right now." He gave another smile and stuck his fingers in his pockets. "I'm guessing that you do not have a boyfriend.." Or, he hoped! Kissing shirtless lemonade boys in the streets was not something that taken girls should be going about doing.

"It doesn't have to be," Tori informed him. "If you want, we could add 'Exploding' in there." But then it implied that he was the one exploding when really, the lemonade was the explosive stuff. "It's just a title to show that you're MY Knight."

Her herrrrrrro.

Tori giggled. "Naw, you don't need to buy any. Any time you want a taste, you just have to come to me, see?" She winked and wagged her little tube of lipstick before sticking it back in her back pocket.

And that was exactly the answer she'd been hoping to here. "Hehee. I was expecting that." Tori flipped her hair over her shoulder. "And no, I don't. Not yet, anyway. I'm holding tryouts."

Wanna audition, Paulie?

Harley crossed her arms at Ryoma's comment on unicorn dung. Wise guy, it shocked Harley a little how much Ryoma sometimes reminded her of her older brother Gabriel. Of course Gabe was nothing like Ryoma in the sense of women, but the condescending comments were a usual trademark of Gabe's that Harley always found annoying. Then again, perhaps the witty comments were a men thing in general. She had never met a woman smug enough to crack horrible witty jokes like Ryoma and Gabe did.

She smirked at his remark, "Yeah you did. You said that your favorite sister spoke her mind and that I reminded you of your favorite sister. So you inferred the fact that you like that I speak my mind." Stand on her own two feet? Well what else was she supposed to do, sit around? "Of course I stand on my own two feet. Just because I believe in Prince Charming doesn't mean that I believe in just waiting around for a man to do everything for me. I know for a fact if I want something done it's best I do it myself."

It was very kind of her to offer to throw in the 'exploding' bit for freeee. Buuuut, "I'm sure Lemonade Knight will suit me just fine," Paulie smiled. Aha, so it was all just because her possessive side was kickin' in, huh? "Hmm.. well, being a knight is pretty cool, so I suppose I'll pledge my allegiance to your protection."

Bahah, that also worked. "Why, thank you; how generous of you."

She was expecting that he didn't have a honey? Oh, how cheeky! Of course, he wouldn't expect any more if her were her either. 'Not yet.' Sounded like this princess was on a mission to find herself a prince. Hold up.... tryouts?

"Tryouts?" He cocked an eyebrow. "What do ya mean?"

Stealth.

This was all about the stealth.

Hiding her bag of water balloons as much as possible, Ellie spotted Dallin sitting at a table. Sitting at a table?! What was he thinking? That wasn't stealth, that was blatant... silliness! Ellie hid behind a tree that was a little to skinny and eyed Dallin. "Psst!" She whispered, hoping to get his attention. He needed to get over here and learn a few things from the master of stealth. Stealthy!Ellie.

Handsome?

Nigel almost didn't turn around at the greeting however he reconized the voice just as she came into full view at his side. "Um...Hello," he greeted in return..."Elinor," he added seeing it wasn't like he was going to give her any time of nickname or descriptive word like she had apparently chosen for him.

"Yes, well I wasn't exactly planning on coming. I just needed an escape from the shop from a bit, and most of everything else is closed," he remarked trying to react in nonchallance. What was with them running into each other? Coincedence obviously since she already proved she hadn't believed him to be here, and he certainly hadn't planned or thought of running into her here especially out of all the people around he could have run into.

"What about you...playing hooky from work as well?" Nigel asked, trying to find the right words, the man finally taking in her full appearance. Surely she wasn't meerly on a lunch break as well for while he was slightly more casual then his usual attire, the woman before him was quite different.

Not that he would say so aloud or thought it bad mind you.

Caroline noticed his surprise in his reaction and in his voice. She gave him a smile. This past term she hadn't felt much like a good friend. The first part of the last term she had spend so much time with Carter that she didn't really get to spend much time with anyone else but him and Kita. And then she was gone for a month out of the term in Italy looking for her real father. After she broke up with her boyfriend she didn't spend time with anyone else she just needed someone to tallke to or ran into them around school. She just didn't feel like she was the friend that she used to be to friends like Braeden, and even Helena and Emma.

Caroline came back to the table, and sit back down. Merlin he went to work eating some of the food while she was gone. When she slide the can over to him she noticed the mess that he made while he ate. And that never surprised her that he always made a mess when he ate. She giggled, and rolled her eyes playfully. "Braeden, you are such a mess." She shook her head. Grabbing up a napkin, should she just hand him the napkin. She decided to go ahead and wipe his mouth for him. Because he'd even get it all and she was his babysitter at one time.

She shook her head, "Nah, I needed to I took that one of yours." She nodded when he said thanks anyway. He could be the one to buy the next round of coco-cola if they would need it. She grinned at her goofball of a Gryffindor friend. Trying not to get lost in her thoughts of what could've or might've beens and what if's. That she had been thinking about since she started eating this carnvial food. Which even thought they Braeden had made quite a dent in the food on the table. She glanced around the table. "So, do you think we can finish up the rest of this food?" Bewteen both of them she was sure that they could. She was still striving.

Sliding the plate of funnel cake over to her. she started to pull off a piece of the funnel cake off with a fork. Her mind was still wondering, but this time she voiced out loud some of her thoughts. "Do you ever wonder what if somethings, or wish that you could take something back or change it?" She had never really ask a guy a question like that. But she had always wondered if guy thought about that stuff if things like that being different. More imporantly and directly she was wondering how things would have worked out between them if she hadn't met Carter. Back then her and the gryffindork had been pretty close. As far as thinking about theese things it really didn't cross her mind until after her boyfriend wasn't the center of her universe.

Where was she? Ellie was sure taking her time, wasn't she?

Dallin sat with one elbow on the table in front of him, looking around for Ellie. When he finally found her, he grinned. She was taking this seriously, wasn't she? Glancing around to make sure no one was looking at him, Dal made his way non-cholantly over to Ellie. He stood behind her, knowing that he wasn't very hidden by the tree.

"Who's our first victim?" He asked quietly. Oh yes. Victim. Of their water balloons.

She smiled, obviously pleased that her remark had caught him off guard. It was too nice a day and too nice a coincidence to hesitate awkwardly, as was the usual routine. SOMEONE had to one-up the situation.

Elinor nodded, "Well, good for you. I'm glad you have the opportunity to escape a shopfull of schoolchildren to come to a carnival of schoolchildren. At least if something goes wrong, you can turn the other way and not give it another thought." Speaking of turning the other way, Elinor casually took a glance around. Scanning quickly for dark wizards aaaaaaaannnddd...

Back to him. Teehee.

"I'm actually being paid to be here," she replied, ever so slightly toning her voice down as she reached a hand up to flip her hair behind her shoulder. "They needed volunteers to patrol the carnival, and since the lab has been doing nothing but collecting dust...", she alluded, rolling her eyes and then smiling. "Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to leave the building."

Taking in a breath, she looked to the right, to a grouping of food stalls. "Let me buy you something to eat, Mister Garrettson, it's worth the impending heart failure," she joked. The food was mostly so so so unhealthy, but you only live once.

Hearing it from his companion's mouth did make it seem a bit more non-sensical, his escape from the busyness of his shop to the busyness of the carnival. But his earlier words as well as Elinor's own seemed to make it all make sense. He...Nigel Garrettson, had no responsibility here. That was the big difference in situations.

The shopkeeper raised a slight eyebrow as she explained her own true purpose for being at the carnival herself. So she was her for work. Wandering around the carnival for her job? It made some sense he supposed seeing as she was in law enforcement and one always had to be careful at events such as this. But something about her...no it was certainly her attire made it seem all too odd.

Nigel...what are you thinking?

Since when did he pay attention to any woman, especially Miss Danvers that way? At least for a long while seeing as he really hadn't had the inkling to dwell on such things as relationships. He shook his head to erase the thoughts, paying attention once more just as she offered to buy him food from the vender.

"Well...um if you insist," Nigel mused giving in far easier then he normally would. Perhaps it was yje fact that he had covered a meal the last time they met up so it was only fitting she return the favor even though he had had no intention of ever calling in the favor. Whatever the case he had agreed to it. "You can decide," he added absently having no clue what to ask for from the items listed.

"And I DO insist," she confirmed, turning fully towards the vendors and nudging the brim of her hat up slightly to see better.

"I can decide?", she asked, a bit incredulously. "Okay, let's see... You don't strike me as much of a candy person... Corn on the cob can be a hassle... Hotdogs and hamburgers are a little too greasy, especially from the carnival... Funnel cakes are too sticky... Wellsir...," she said, thinking quickly out loud. "I think the safest bet is popcorn. The worst that can happen is you get a piece of kernel stuck in your teeth." It was true. Worst feeling ever.

Reaching into the back pocket of her skirt, Elinor pulled out enough money for both of them. "Salt? Butter?", she asked him as she ordered herself a small, if they knew the meaning of the word. Some people didn't like salt on their popcorn, which was a crime against humanity. "Drink?", she added. "The whole booth? I'll buy it if you want it," she laughed.

Seriously, though, she would. If he wanted it. O.O

"I do appreciate that, Sir Lemonade." Tori grinned. "A princess can never have too many guards, you know." Especially with all the crazies in this world. AND at a carnival, of all places! It was a very dangerous world they lived in you know.

Tryouts, yes. Tori smirked. "Tryouts, auditions, you know." She flipped her hair. "Best kisser wins. Would you like to tryout?"

OF COURSE he would. She really wanted another kiss.

Athena sat down after buying cotton candy and some muggle beverage. She looked at the blue can and wondered how can you drink from it, she couldn't see any hole or anything. She shrugged, her stupidity was just... stupid. She was very curious when she saw someone buying that same thing she was holding right now and just had to try it.
"Let's see if there's an instruction," she examined the can really carefully. "Bloody muggles," she muttered under her breath.

Paulie grinned as she addressed him by his newly formed knight name. Yes, he was a 'SIR'! "Very true. Wouldn't want anyone to kidnap you, huh?" And somehow Paulie was supposed to stop that from happening. Or, stop lemonade from exploding all over her..

Tryouts sounded very strange to be paired with dating; she must have had a lot of guys lining up for her. But, ohhh.. All you had to do was kiss? Well, then. That was a little less pressure, besides the fact that Paulie wasn't incredibly experienced in that area at this point. "Oh, I see. I've never tried out for anything before.." Would he like to tryout? .. That meant he got to kiss her again, yeah?

"Yes.. yes." He nodded, smiled, and flattened his damp hair against his head. "Is my tryout, like... right now?"

As she seemed unbelieving of his permission given to her, Nigel briefly wondered if he had made a big mistake in giving it to her. He listened to Elinor go over the list of availiable options, giving some relief when some of the more...unsavory items were knocked off the choices by the woman herself.

Popcorn...popcorn wasn't too bad.

And he'd certainly be careful about the kernals. At her further question, he thought it over for a moment, nearly coughing as she extended her offer ridiculusly. Now where did that come from...did he look like he needed to eat more?

"No that wouldn't be necessary," he assured her when she offered the whole booth to him. "Popcorn...with both. And a butterbeer is fine," the shopkeeper said finally answering her questions. Might as well go all in even just this once.

Nessie was bored. She had already been on everything at the Carnival and she wanted to do something fun. Since she was bored she decided to go and nom on some food. Obviously as always Puffles her pgmy puff was with her. She was surprised he hadn't choked yet, because he was eating popcorn after all. She looked around watching all the people around her eat and talk. She had nothing better to do.

Her main aim for now was to distract herself from any thoughts that came to her mind. She wanted to keep her mind empty so she could just be and so that she wouldn't have to think about the whole Tyler incident. She continued looking around wishing something exciting would happen.

Trying to suppress a giggle, Ellie pressed her lips together when Dallin hid behind her. Behind this small tree that probably wasn't doing much for them. Yes, their first victim.... "Hmm." Ellie scanned the people around the food area for an innocent looking person. Aha! There was one!

Ellie pointed to a young, redhead eating popcorn with her cute little Pygmy Puff. "Her."

Ellie took a water balloon out of her bag. "On the count of three, aim for the ground by her feet." They didn't want to get her too wet. At least not yet. "One..." She lifted the balloon. "Two..." She narrowed into her target. "Three!" Ellie whispered, tossing the balloon towards the girl's feet. She watched it splat onto the ground and then she pressed herself against the tree and tried to hide, a grin spread across her face.

Out of nowhere a whole lot of water splashed on top of Ness. She wasn't completely soaked but she was wet. Her hair had luckily managed to stay dry, but her dress and shoes was another story. She looked at Puffles to see if he was alright. He had also gotten wet, but he seemed to be okay. She looked up to check if it was raining, but it wasn't. She then looked around trying to find the source of the water.

Then she saw it, a water balloon right on the ground next to her. Now why would someone throw a water balloon? Maybe someone was trying to prank her "Who's there?" She whispered. Yeah who ever it is can definitely hear you she thought sarcastically to herself.

"No, of course not! That would be horrid!" Tori frowned at the mere idea. Unless, of course, it was a hot guy doing the kidnapping. She would be an excellent hostage in that case.

While he was contemplating whether or not he really wanted to try out (which, Tori told herself, he WOULD WANT TO), the redhead pulled her strawberry lip gloss out of her pocket again and reapplied it with a little smack.

"I think you'll do very well," she hinted, hiding her gloss away. "Yes. You may tryout now."

HEHEE.

Paulie chuckled at her horror of him even suggesting a kidnapping. "Well, you're lucky you just gained a new knight, 'cause I think I saw one of those carnies behind the counter eying you up," he told her. This was not actually true, of course. "He had a big kidnapping net, too.." Mmmmhm. A very serious threat, that carny.

"Oh?" She thought he'd do very well? Oh la la! Paulie smiled, the comment having easily boosted his confidence. But.. now? Right now? Sweet Merlin, he hadn't even gotten a chance to practice on a pillow. All right, all right..

"Okay," he inhaled and inched a little closer. Paulie moved his hand to her waist - that's what they did in the movies - and he leaned his head down. And, the boy closed the gap separating their lips and went in for the kiss.

Wowow - very strawberry!

Princess Tori gasped very dramatically upon hearing this news. "Oh noes!" She put one hand to her face and reached out to Paulie with the other. "Will you protect me, Sir Knight? Will you keep the mean, kidnapping carnie away? Could you?!"

He was mighty good at taking exploding drinks to the face. Heh. Surely he'd be able to handle a kidnapping net too, ya?

Tori inhaled sharply when Paulie stepped closer. She could smell the sticky lemonade on his shirtless self... and a little hint of something yummy, like boy cologne.... Then he kissed her and she happily stretched her hands up to rest on his neck.

Audition passed.

Paulie took Tori's hand and didn't miss a beat playing along with the theatrics. "I will do my best, Princess - I will die protecting you!" He took a deep breath of air and puffed out his chest as best he could before his lungs deflated.

Heheh. It was fun, acting like this. Pretending and stuff. He was certainly a lot more loosened up than before.

When the kiss came to an end, Paulie slowly moved back. His eyebrows arched in the slightest as he looked to her, waiting to hear how he'd done. "So.." The boy quietly cleared his throat. "Uh, did I.. pass?"

"Wee-lay?" ("Really?") Braeden asked with his mouth full of food as Caroline pointed out that he was 'such a mess'. Huh… and all this time he thought he'd been doing a pretty good job of eating neatly! It wasn't until he glanced down at himself and saw a lake of crumbs on his lap that he realized Caroline wasn't exaggerating. He looked back up at the girl and, with very slightly pink cheeks, smiled like an embarrassed child. Would he EVER grow out of this messy-eating habit?! He would be turning seventeen soon, wasn't it time he stopped embarrassing himself like this?! The poor boy wondered to himself, snapping out of thoughts only when Caroline suddenly approached him with a napkin in her hand.

As the napkin passed over his lips and wiped the crumbs off his mouth, the Gryffindork couldn't help feeling rather childlike, like he was a clumsy child that needed to be taken care of. He smiled at Caroline, both gratefully and sheepishly. "Thanks for that. I dunno what I'm going to do after I graduate, without you and Emma and the others to babysit me all the time…" he said with a chuckle, shaking his head slightly.

But what WAS he going to do?! Oh no, it seemed he'd have to learn to wipe his mouth and tend his boo-boos all on his own! D:
Horrified by the thought of having to take care of himself for a change, Baby!Brae opened his can of Coca-Cola and took a sip. Mmmmmmmmmm. Refreshing.

"Huh? Of course we can finish it up! Just look at us, this food should be running for its life!" said Braeden, as if he and Caroline were a pair of huge, enormous walking barrels with no bottom, and could therefore never be filled up.
Obviously, by their slender frames, they were not such creatures.

Braeden got back to his food as did Caroline, pushing a couple cauldron cakes and other things in her direction so she'd get to enjoy them too. He didn't want to go and eat everything by himself, how greedy would that be? She got him Coca-Cola! Sharing is caring.
And then Caroline was asking him about taking things back or changing them. Raising a bushy eyebrow, Braeden turned away from the candy mountain he was building and turned to Caroline, brown eyes both curious and confused. Oh? What had brought this on? He wasn't sure, but he figured he should at least answer the question.

"Umm…"
The boy looked off into space for a moment, thinking about it, before turning back to Caroline. "Well… yeah. I do wonder what things would be like if I could change what's happened, but… I don't think I'd wish to change anything. I mean… it sounds cheesy, but I believe in 'everything happens for a reason'," he chuckled softly to himself and shrugged. "I'm sure if things turned out the way they did for me, it's all just probably leading to a turning point in my life… But I do wonder, sometimes, what it would've been like to do certain things or make certain decisions…" With a thoughtful frown on his face, Braeden trailed off. Caroline was being so deep, even the goofy boy was beginning to think about things.

But then he snapped out of it, turning his gaze back to the blonde girl.
"What's brought this on? Is there something you're wishing you could change or take back?" he asked curiously before stuffing a chocolate frog into his mouth.

Tori squeezed Paulie's hand tight and giggled as his little chest inflated. HOW ADORABLE WAS HE.

And SUCH a good kisser too. Hehe. Tori blinked a few times and ran her tongue around her soft lips. "Well..........." of course she wanted to demand another round. "It might take a few more kisses to make up my mind." She blinked as innocently as possible, fluttering those long eyelashes as she looked up at Paulie.

She still hadn't let go of his hand.

Paulie smiled when she seemed to find his antics amusing as well.

Anyhow... It's like she was taking her time in answering, just to keep him on the edge of his seat. If he were sitting. In fact, that was probably exactly what the girl was doing. That IS what girls did for fun, he was sure. He gulped when she licked her lips. Well.....? Well WHUT?! But a grin slowly made its way onto his face. "Ohh, I see. Yep - I'm sure it's a very difficult thing to determine... needs lotsa trials to base your decision on," he nodded.

... He PASSED! He totally passed, he could tell. FOR real. Paulie Foster, making his way to CoolTown.

He laughed, not entirely sure why. Probably 'cause he just found out he wasn't a sucky kisser, or because he just kissed a hottie McDottie, TWICE, or because he was finally drying off from that darn lemonade. "I guess we'll just have to kiss every time we bump into each other, then, huh? Since you gotta figure this whole.." he waved his hand around in the air. "..thing out." Yes, this whole try-out thing.
