| | | Do you have a phobia of anything?
Do you hate being in lifts? Are you scared of sheep? Do you hate school?
Share your phobias here. Whether its stupid or serious - we wanna here it.
Anyway to get us started off - i have a huge fear of a weird cactus in one of the classrooms at school (m1 for anyone who goes to shs). Well just to fill you in, it has huge leaves, kills you if you touch it and is covered in fibrous dots. It looks disgusting and makes me feel repulsively sick.
Here are some pics of some other cacti that make me feel sick.
Anway, feel free to post about your phobia. Oh and if anyone knows the name of my sort of phobia please tell me. |

My one and only...
heights. I believe it's acrophobia. Now here's the "funny" part: I looooooove thrill rides/rollercoasters. And the ride called Acrophobia is one of my favorites (it's a free fall from about 215 feet). The initial ascent to reach the ride's peak is terrifying, because it's going so slow, and you get the full feel of just how high up you are. But once you go and get into the ride, it's Wiiiiiiiild!!!
I also love flying. My acrophobia really only kicks in when I'm in "open" conditions and not harnessed in, such as a flight of stairs, escalators, stuff like that, where you're completely open and there's a possibility where you could fall. Ugh.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Elizabeth Black First Year | I can't really say I've got a phobia of anything, really, I mean I love flying, elivators anything high up, spiders and bugs in general don't scare me, pain dosn't intimidate me or even frighten me that much, I'm not even afraid to die (not that I want to be soon.). I love hights, the out doors, closed in spaces all of those things. I don't like people screaming in pain though I'm not sure if thats a phobia, but it really upset me even if it's on a TV show or movie. (even though I love horror movies, go figgure). |

OK I'm archnaphobic I think it is spiders. Even the smallest spiders. I run out of the room and find someone to kill the spider if I see one. I've only killed a spider once in my life. It was like right above my bed and I was about to go to sleep and no one was home.
I'm also scared of snakes, bees, and all those creepy crawly bugs.

I have two really big phobias. First and foremost are spiders. I always get my husband to "liberate" them outside. My second phobia is heights. I am uncomfortable being any higher than the back of a horse. I don't even like standing on chairs and ladders are absolutely out of the question!

| YOUR Nixy. || Prefect Rainbows! || Deniz'in Müzik Kardeşi I'm severly arachnephobic. Everyone calls me a "Mardy Bum" for it, but I don't think they realise how bad it actually is for me. It doesn't matter how big or small the spider is, most of the time, I freak out so much that I can't kill it.
I don't actually know when it started, but the earliest arachnephobic memory that I have was when I was about 7, and I was getting into my school uniform. Now, my uniform consisted of a white Polo T-shirt. My mum had ironed all my uniform and hung it up for me, and I'd like ... gotten the T-shirt on fully, and then this HUMONGUS spider crawled out from under the collar and into the little slit inbetween the two collars, where the buttons go. It was horrible. This massive spider was on the INSIDE of the shirt, and I could feel it against my skin even though it was walking on my shirt.
Imagine being claustrophobic, inside a small elevator with far too many people in it. That's how it felt for me.
I'd completely panicked; and I don't have a clue where the bugger got off to. All's I remember is somehow getting the T shirt off again without the spider going on my face and screaming. A lot.
Ever since then, if I see a spider on my clothes, I have to sream for someone to kill it WITHOUT crushing it on my clothes, and then I have to get them to put the clothes in the washing machine, and I can't calm down until I see the washer full of water. Sometimes, it gets so bad that I start hyperventilating and crying. It's the same when I see a spider on someone else. They can just brush it off and be all cool, but I really freak out, and won't let them touch me, because I'll have convinced myself that there's more spiders hiding from where ever the first one came creeping out from.
There've been times when I've gotten locked in our toilet by a spider. Now, my toilet is a separate room to our bathroom, and it's probably 3/4 of a meter by a meter and a half. It's TEENY. But it serves it's purpose well enough, so I shant complain about that. Now, spiders like to hide on the back of the door, and by the time that you're in the toilet, and you've turned around to lock the door, you're already trapped. There was one spider a few years ago who thought it would be fun to hide in the very top corner of the door, and then scurried to sit ON the lock after I'd locked the door.
... And he didn't move for half an hour.
My cousin was the only on in the house at the time, and I made her sit outside the toilet to talk to me, so I didn't freak out [i]as[/s] much. Not that it helped...
Now and then, I'll get scared of the computer, too, because a spider's decided to move in behind the screen, or under the printer.
Also, about 10 days ago, I was making some coffee for me and my cousin, and was waiting by the kettle for it to boil, and the HUGEST spider I'd ever seen in my kitchen came hurrying out of the spouty thing on the kettle. It probably felt like it had just been in a sauna for a week. Needless to say, there was a lot of screaming and neither of us got our cuppa. I've still not gone near the kettle, even though my cousin cleaned it out and showed me that there was no spiders left in there.
Being this scared of spiders really sucks, because it means that I usually say no to stuff like camping with my friends. *shivers* There'd be too many spiders on a field.
Okay, so this was a very big novel on Jess' Arachnephobia... But somehow, writing that much makes me feel like SOMEONE will understand just how bad it is for me, and that I'm not just being dramatic.
And yeah... I think spiders are the only thing that I'm really scared of. EDIT: I can't even watch CoS without getting freaked out. It's one film that I'm glad I never saw in 3D. Spiders potentially flying out of the screen? No thank you. D=

oh dear lord YES! I hate all insects/bugs in general, but I am especially bad with spiders, so yes I have GREAT empathy for Ron. Although even he can "handle them" when they're dead, it's the moving specifically that rattles him, but I don't like them in ANY state.
It's so bad, even with how big a Potter fan I am, I've seen Chamber in its entirety probably a good 6-8 times at least, and yet still to this day, I've NEVER actually witnessed the Aragog scene, so I really have no real clue what he looks like. And I don't ever wanna know :p Especially a spider being that big, not to mention hundreds and hundreds of other smaller ones (but still big enough) crowding all around Harry & Ron, because it's like once that imagine is in my head, it's never getting out. I've only ever listened to that scene while looking away. But I mean it's seriously ridiculous, I don't even like to look at a cartoon spider, I get freaked out just by that.
I mean if I found myself with a sizeable spider having landed on my body somewhere, I'm dead serious that I'd very likely go completely catatonic.
Funnily enough, the one other major "scary creature" of the Potter universe, snakes, my big sister is about as bad with them as I am with spiders, and they don't bother me in the least. haha I could stare at a snake all day long and wouldn't phase me a bit.

uhm..lemme see...
scary images/videos/movies/anything else that has a picture of a ghost... i'm also scared of being out of place, being ignored, and being left by people who are important to me.
and sometimes, solitude. i'm not really used to being alone when i'm outside the gates of my home, even though i'm an only child.

Heights (kinda)
Snakes (I was bitten by a poisonous snake once and they almost had to cut of my leg)
Shark (I know a guy that was surfing in Hawaii and got bitten and almost died)
I'm slightly OCD and ADD
and
Cancer (it's taken so many people from my life )

Ok. So my fears:
> Pigeons! I hate them so much!
> Chickens! hate them too!
> Tight spaces!
> Losing people who are close to me. Call me needy or desperate or whatever, i don't care
> I'm slightly claustrophobic. I have asthma so it kind of makes sense. To me, anyways.
> I used to have a recurring nightmare about my father (my parents are divorced and i live with my mum but he did something that scared me and altered my whole life) and i'm scared that it will come true one day
> I haven't got a phobia of heights but i get a bit queasy when i'm so far high up an i look down (i think it's because i'm so short). But i don't mind it after a while and i love looking at the view from very high up.

I'm sometimes claustrophobic and afraid of dark places... And I'm soooo terrified of insects! Especially spiders and ants. All those hairy legs and many eyes.... Clowns and masks also freak me out. And I can't stare at a... realistic portrait. I'm afraid the eyes are going to move. |
