I'm excited to be the mod you will be getting to know during the month of April. My name is Mary, I'm old enough to be your mother (most of you), I have son who many of you established members already know about and I live in the Mid-West area, Iowa to be exact.
I became a member of Snitch Seeker in August 2009, so a little over 3 1/2 years ago. SS was my very first RPG experience so I really had no idea what I was doing at the time. My very first character was 11 year old Marie Salazar (at bottom of link in spoiler) who was sorted into the great house of Slytherin. I played her from a ickle little 1st year all the way through graduation, which was the class of 2076. Marie is now 22 years old, married and lives in Sweden. Today I play HealerTillstorm, whom I have played since Marie graduated 4 terms ago. I also play Colby Formaggio, shopkeeper of Florean Fortescues Ice Cream Parlour. Before becoming the shopkeeper of Florean's, Colby was the assistant wand maker at Ollivander's. I know, from wand maker to ice cream maker. Just ask if you want to know more about him.
Out of Character I am the Haven Mod and on the Yearbook staff. I also help moderate the North End of the Street in Diagon Alley along with all threads in the Florean Fortescues forum.
In real life I work for our public school district as a secretary for our pre-school program. I have been the PTO (Parent, Teacher, Organization) treasurer for the elementary end of our building for the past 6 years. I have also served as president and vice president on the PTO Board. I have a son that is 23 and a pet chinchilla named Gizmo.

And my answer for you; he is! *I thought you knew that* Yes, the great house of Slytherin, IC and OOC, so I've been told. My friend Judy, who is the one responsible for getting me hooked on HP is forever calling me Malfoy like that's a bad thing. It's true that I am can be a bit sarcastic and shall we say snaky at times, but I'd also have to say, if I was being honest here, which apparently I am, there's some Hufflepuff in there too, Merlin, don't tell Cece I said that. right along with Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. I'm not by any means the smartest or brightest person but I can be pretty clever when needed. I'm also not the bravest person around but I do love a good challenge every now and again. As for that puff side of me, that would have to be my loyalty and patience. I can be a very patient person when it comes to most things, but my snake side does tend to come out when I'm pushed too far or people try to take advantage of me.
So to answer your question in a couple short words, I'd say I'm a SlytherPuffGryfinClaw. *Makes up new house*
I have a question: What did you expect being at Hogwarts would be like? How different were your "school years" from what you thought they would be? (Sorry, two questions..)

The weirdest food I have eaten would have to be black bear. When I was a teen my dad made homemade pizza. He told us it was hamburger. It was indeed burger, but not from a cow, it was from a bear. I knew there was something strange about it because it was a real dark color and it was tougher than normal hamburger. He passed it off as saying his friend, who was a farmer, had slaughtered one of his cows and ground the meat up on his own which is why it was a little tough. As for the color, he said he overcooked it. That part I believed because like me, my dad likes his food well done.
So there you have it.

Hello and welcome to Snitch Seeker.
To be honest, I didn't know what to expect it to be like RPing at Hogwarts. Before I joined this site I had never role played before. I didn't know anyone, I didn't know how to role play, I didn't know what I was doing.
Again, I didn't have any expectations when it came to what school would be like in Hogwarts. I can say that it was a lot like real school. After all, there are classes to participate in, homework to be done, friends to hang out with, professors to give a hard time to. The school experience you have just really depends on how much you want to get into the RP.

Personally my favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip. I could eat that stuff every day, as long as it's the green mint. Then again, I do like the pink peppermint kind too.
If you're asking about Colby (my shopkeeper) and his favorite, I would have to say Cookies n' Cauldron Cakes although he does like to be adventurous at times so I would also have to say Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Ice Cream.

Now onto the real question.
You're right, I do have lots of memorable moments on SS. I'd have to say one of my favorites that I played out as a student was when Lawson tied Marie and Destiny together... for what seemed like a whole term. It was a blast RPing those two girls pulling and dragging each other everywhere together, like classes, Hogsmeade, the Great Hall and even on dates. Well Marie was the one going on dates, not Destiny, which was the reason the two ended up in their situation in the first place, because Destiny interrupted Marie and Carter's date, and well, you know the rest. GAH! I miss those days. We all had so much fun RPing stuff like that.
Now for my real life memorable moments on SS. I'd have to say it was the first time you called me, and each time after that too. Not only are you the very first person from SS that I talked to on the phone, but YOU called me, from Australia, to the States. That really meant a lot to me. I have since then talked to a few others on the phone and even this past weekend had the opportunity to meet Silver Ninja (my first SSer to meet in person), but you win for being the 1st one I ever talked to on the phone.
Okay, so those real life things didn't actually happen on SS but they were a result of me being a member of SS so they count.

I don't even know where to begin with this one. There have been so many great stalkable moments on SS in the almost four years I've been around. If I had to choose just one though, I would have to go with...
Destiny and Patroclus saying goodbye. That was like one of the greatest RP moments. It was a sad situation yet at the same time it made me want to laugh. Then again, anything involving Destiny makes me want to laugh.
Seriously though, how could you not aww and giggle at the same time when Destiny told Patroclus she was like a penguin.

I don't think I could ever picture myself in any other house. Slytherin is like home to me. It is so much fun playing Slytherin characters, which is why all the ones I create have been Slytherin even if one married a puffer and one married a lion.

I know this is going to sound really lame and boring, but to be honest, I wouldn't really want to live any place other than the United States. I've lived in Iowa, Texas and Nevada and even though Iowa isn't the most exciting state in the US, it's home. Now that's not to say I would ever be against visiting other countries, but the U.S., yeah, that's the place for me.
Umm, Zombie Ants, can't say I have any feelings about them at all. Neve give them a thought.

Hey Dani.
I love playing a staff member. I love playing the schools evil healer. She is after all the one everyone loves to hate. Now that's not to say I don't like playing my shopkeeper, because I do like playing him (Which reminds me, we have a RP to finish), but there's not much opportunity to play him when school is in session. As much as I love playing those two roles though, I'd have to say playing a student is my favorite. I had so much fun when I played Marie for all seven terms. There are just so many RP opportunities when you play a student. I do have to say though, I do NOT miss doing all that homework.
And NO, I'm not ready to leave staff to become a student again. I'm having way too much fun torturing healing the students.
Now for your second question. Such a rule breaker you are by asking more than one question here.
I don't know that I would want to teach any subject. Not that I don't like any of the classes, but because I don't feel I would do the subjects any justice. I'm perfectly fine with a non teaching position, which is exactly what I have in real life too. I work in a school as a secretary.

I don't know if I'd say I read often, but I do read a lot. The latest series of books I finished was Fallen by Lauren Kate. I like to read books that are in a series, like Harry Potter (of course), Hunger Games, Twilight, Fallen, just to name a few.

I love almost all the Disney movies so it's really hard to pick just one. But at this time I'd have to say Lion King, just because it's been on TV a lot this past week and I've watched it at least three times. Plus, I love the music that goes with that movie.

Hmm, a superpower you ask. I would have to say I would love to have the power to read other people's minds. It's so easy for people to say one thing to you while thinking a totally different thing.
Reality shows. There are a few I watch. Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Celebrity Apprentice. And yes, I DVR all of them so I don't miss them.
