2014: Meet Tegz

Hi! I'm Tegz, you can 'meet' me for the month of december and obviously I'm super creative with my username right?

I'm a moderator here for the newbie forum, and also a moderator of The Quibbler forum which is where members can read tons of interviews with other members, interviews with current and former site staff, and generally get to know others in our awesome SS community. I've been a member of SnitchSeeker since 2008, and in that time I've moderated fanfiction (drabbles and stuff), and the Leaky Cauldron (discussions about non-potter movies, tv, etc). But most of my SS time has been spent involved in the Site wide RPGs, which I've been participating in since Term 19. In the Hogwarts RPG was prefect for Ravenclaw, Head Girl, Charms Professor, A writer for the yearbook and eventually Yearbook Manager, and most recently (until Quidditch ended) Slytherin Quidditch Captain. Currently aside from a student character, I also have a character on the Board of Governors.

Wait what? Ravenclaw and Slytherin? Yup. I personally am Ravenclaw all the way, but I took advantage of the resorting option that SS offers and am currently on my second (and last) student character in Slytherin. When she graduates I'll be heading off to less-green pastures.

I've also been involved in Diagon Alley, where I'm currently a shopkeeper at Ollivanders (that means for those of you newbies who are going to join the RPG, you might meet my character and have him fit yours with a new wand!), I've written stuff with the Daily Prophet back in the day too.

I'm also part of the Ministry of Magic RPG, where I formerly was department head for Magical Law Enforcement, and then (with a different character) department head for Accidents and Catastrophes. Currently just chillaxing there with a charrie who is an Obliviator. Highly recommend getting involved when you get the chance!

So as you can see my SS involvement is RPG-heavy, but that's how I like it! In real life I'm a student (feels like its been forever) studying Linguistics (and English, but Linguistics is my love <3) and I work part-time in a bookstore.

So ask me some questions or something I suppose!

At first I just thought SS was a distraction and time waster... a FUN one don't get me wrong XD but yea I didn't really stop and THINK about how much it enriches my life for a while... but now I know its all of YOU GUYS. The community here is so amazing, so enduring, and sometimes I just sort of sit back and marvel at how I've become good friends with people ALL around the world from SO many walks of life. I feel like it has opened my eyes and my mind more, given me a new perspective and a new appreciation for what I have. Its also been an awesome outlet for creativity and writing and all that fun stuff too.

1.Which charrie I'd want to have tea with.............................................. .......... oh man. None of them? Is that bad? Like they're either horrible, or way too attractive so then I wouldn't be able to function.

2.Downsides: all the downsides lol. I'm either GMT +12 or GMT +13(which I am in now) depending on the time of the year . A lot of ESTers are asleep when my prime SS time happens. Lucky for me now that I'm a student my day time hours are often when I'm online, or I'd barely see my peeps. I know this is true because I used to work a 9-5 full time tuesday to saturday and the only way I got to talk to people was on my 30 minute lunchbreak if I chose to go online instead of eat. #priorities. HOWEVER it is good for mod reasons, since it means when others aren't around people like myself and Pixie (normally anyways) are lurking so we can take care of things that happen while everyone else is sleeeping.

3. CASEY YOU ARE NOT A NEWBIE. GOSH. Hehe <3 I think you're doing perfectly, you're on the same track that I was when I started out (prefect, DA stuff, being active in all the places). I guess it depends on your idea of 'involved' if its just the RP you wanna focus on (like I did for forever) or if you wanna chat in the forums with people. If there are any forums you are 'scared' of, go have a looooook. Honestly there were areas I didn't step foot in for actual years that I wish I had XD If you can SEE it, you're allowed in there! So go explore.

4. Favourite New Zealand food..... hmmmmmm. We have a lot of fresh stuff... and fish... and lamb... but aside from that NZ food is like.... all food. Of the world. Really. Name it, we probably have it. Cuisine from other cultures is REALLY accessible in NZ, which is something I've learned via SS.

I DO miss it. Oh man. See here's the thing, I'm almost DONE with being a Slytherin, soon as my latest charrie graduates since she's a filler, and then Cela's eldest kid is gonna start at Hogwarts (WOAH RIGHT?). ORIGINALLY I was all like 'oh she's going to be Ravenclaw' but I've been playing her for a few years and now I have CONCERNS that she's going to be Gryffindor (or Hufflepuff because she has enough Ravenclaw in her to confuse matters). The only reason this bothers me is that I wanna come home to 'claw XD Potentially will be another 2 and a half years before I do though if she sorts elsewhere. SO I'm going to be mean and make Roro/Ern/Touz choose. HAH. Admin sort for the win.

That is an impossible question, friend. I worked in a video store for a few years, and a cinema for seven years, and ran the DVD section of a retail store for a while.... THERE ARE SO MANY. I can't put movies in order, and they come and go all the time really? Yep. Literally hundreds of favourite movies.

1. Its just easier to say. Its like how I write my signature, after the first three letters I get lazy so its t-e-g...scribblescribblescribble lol

2. Hmmmmmmmmmmm Cela and Althea are always easy to channel. Which is fun since they're so different. I've never really had any trouble channeling West either, partly because they're all so distinct from each other I suppose! I think sometimes it depends on what is going on for charries, and if your own mood can handle thinking about any big stuff XD

3. Oh gosh. One that I was in or one that I stalked? Because I have separate lists lol.

4. Just English probably, which I am also doing but its the linguistics that I love.

1. No, its very very very very far away. I'm planning my FIRST trip to America though Won't get to NY however. ONE DAY THOUGH.

3. I didn't exactly come up with him actually XD I adopted him when he was around 9 or 10. As for how he became who he is now... well he's nothing like I expected him to be, so its a mix of influence from all his friends, and him taking on a life of his own.

4. A song by a NZer Benny Tipene called Step on Up. I'd link it but it has a curse word in it so isn't approps for SS. Or... maybe Psychosocial by Brooke Fraser, another NZer

My favourite canned food is creamed corn. AND YUS WE DO... except we call it tinned food. Tins. Rather than cans. Yup.

Actuaaaally none of New Zealand is tropical. lol. Like... at all.

Uhh... vegetables... this is my stepfather with a bunch of stuff that him and my mum have grown in their garden. Yes there are fruit in there too lol. I've never heard of any particular vege that doesn't grow here.... but we do have different kinds of pumpkin from what you do xD we don't have those big orange things lol.

1) Nectarines. Babaco is nice too

1) That I'm not famous. I know. Its weird.

2) tumblr and listal are good places for browsing faces, I tend to look through until they jump out at me for whatever reason, then save them. I have a bookmarked folder of faces on my google chrome with basic descriptions (which is why I generally don't mind helping people find faces and tend to be decent at it), and then when I create a charrie I usually have an idea about really basic appearance things like hair or eye colour (especially if they're related to someone that already has a face), so I go through and basically play 'guess who' with the faces I've collected already. Once I exhaust those if I haven't found the right one, then it gets trickier, but it usually works.

3) Hmmm well I like having charries who have parents RP'd by other people (or vice versa) more chance for interaction plus its kind of fun to know that someone else's charrie can have some kind of influence on yours and all that. I assume you mean about the Celandine > Charlotte thing that will happen in a few terms mostly? That makes me all feelsy just because its like coming full circle, and though I'm RPing 9 year old Charlotte around already, I probably couldn't fully answer that until she starts at Hogwarts lol.

OKAY lol well see there's a ton I'll not include because this is just off the top of my head and the list is always changing.

Vindictus ran an eating competition (of spicy spicy 'dragon wings', kinda like chicken wings but super fiery) in the great hall once, and my character was there for support, and finger licking because she loves spicy food.

Second years sliding from top to bottom down the moving staircase (after my ravenclaw spent months watching and learning the pattern so they could slide down in a continuous streak on cushions without falling off the edges). Said second years (two cushions, two to a cushion, two gryffindors, one puff, one ravie), were chased by the puff prefect trying to stop them from damaging themselves, and at the bottom of the stairs they belated realised there was no way to stop... but luckily there were three innocent slytherins to collide with.

Result: All charries in hospital wing. All charries in the biggest detention ever.

Cult of Walpurgis stuff. Anything with Ikenna Gevrik. Whew.

Plymouth asking Celandine out with a bad poem. Accidentally. Which was written by his brother. Who also liked Celandine. And Anna had to watch the chaos. Good times.

Celandine and Copernicus kissing themselves out of a tree and falling in front of Professor Kazimeriz and being punished with a spell that made them electrocute each other if they touched at all... for about six months. Also points. Whoops, sorry Ravenclaw.

Anything with Touz or Ern basically.

.... okay that's all for the same character. Whoops. honestly this list will get so much longer if I do all the charries hah.

Anything with Conner and Roro together. Basically anything Truebunz. Seriously. Those two.

Basically anything that Izzy, Kelvin, Nabs, Ama, Xana, Beth or Renee were involved in at any point. Always the lulz. Always. Always.

1) Money. No debt. Good grades.

2) I don't know if I have a fave scene or part or whatever, my favourite things are always characters. Always. And I really like how distinct all the different characters in the series feel. I've never once gotten any of them confused, and I think that's pretty amazing (not that I haven't confused them, but that they're written that way).
