Hi everyone, I'm one of your mods to meet for the month of September!
My name is Tegz, which is short for Tegan and I've been here and addicted since 2008, though back then my username was Celandine. I live in New Zealand and I'm currently studying at university, focusing on Linguistics and English, and once worked at a cinema (for six years mmhmm!) and you could say I'm a bit of a movie buff. I'm also super into reading and writing, which is what brought me to Snitchseeker.
Here on SS I can most often be found in the Wizarding World RPG. Within the School RPG I am currently the Charms Professor and Yearbook Editor. I am also the Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement for the Ministry of Magic RPG. My RPG history has been pretty full. I have been Ravenclaw Prefect, Head Girl, Ravenclaw Seeker, Quidditch Reserve, a writer for Aparecium, The Quill and a Features Editor for the Daily Prophet. I also hold the record as the highest house points earner in Snitchseeker history (term 21 with 1366 points).
Aside from the RPGs, I am a Newbie forum mod (here to help you guys and make sure your posts are legitimate before you get to be a full member) and I run the Quibbler forum (and interview and select the Member of the Month), which is a brand new forum especially for members and contains interviews, updates and games all designed to focus on our community. Don't worry you'll be able to see it soon!
I have also modded the Challenges Arena in Gringotts and the Books forum in the Leaky Cauldron in the past, and sometimes I can be found in the Fanfiction forums still as a sometime writer who dabbles in drabbles and tries my hand at ficcing ficlets. I also have a fic to support a former SSRPG character, and some retired drabbles and ficlets floating around. Oh and see that little SS Featured Writer usertitle I'm sporting? I got that during our Riddle Chronicles Challenge, where I won the first round writing about Tom Riddle in his school days.
In addition to that stuff, I must mention I've been rabid over Pottermore lately, and participated in the Quill challenge. My Pottermore account has been activated and I am a Beta, sorted in Ravenclaw of course!

Hmmmmm a book or author that got me into it? I can't say that there is. My first interest in etymology related stuff was at this lecture thing I had to go to when I was fifteen. And I was like UGH LAME and was considering sneaking out but then it turned out I was FASCINATED by all these tales from this woman who was the Dean of English at my high school who had done a tour of Europe, following the migration and influences on the English language. Crazypants. I was enthused from that point.
And what book changed my life? Well.

I started reading really really young. Like I finished The Hobbit when I was six years old, and was done with the LOTR trilogy and the Silmarillion by the time I was eight. There are probably TWO stand out books/authors/series that really changed me to some degree or another, at different points. The first is Enid Blyton. My mum and I used to read them together and I have a strong memory of when I was about five years old finishing those stories about the far away tree and the wishing chair on my own for the first time and being enchanted by the worlds visited and that whole concept of imagination having no limits. I think that's about when I wrote my first story too? Yeah.
The second is probably John Marsden's Tomorrow Series, which I still love, and specifically when I was fourteen and I met him and he signed the books for me and it was my birthday and he wrote 'have an epic birthday'. When he talked, he made me realise that actually writing isn't a pipe dream and to do it all I need to do is DO it. His books, and his characters, always really SPOKE to me I guess.
Soooo Blyton taught me imagination has no limit and Marsden taught me about having a voice and a style and both gave me a true love for reading, which I think is the first step and the most important one for anyone that wants to write too.
And the reason I'm interested in Linguistics is because WORDS fascinate me. I guess. Writing is the main goal, but I want to be able to really manage it and understand it on a technical level too.

You know, I don't know. Its so... well, I'm used to it now, I guess? Its not something I SAY often, my name, so it always seems weird when I say it.
I am just me. I guess. MY personal identity is 'me' sooooo I couldn't tell you a name to rename myself to if I tried, almost like I'd feel presumptuous to even try lol.
I think the part I like best about my name is how I got it. *waves hand* I feel like I've told this story on SS before, but my dad was in the army and when he was overseas he heard it yelled. Like randomly. In the street. Probably at someone, who knows? Whatever, he liked it and remembered it and then a few years later when I showed up, it became mine. I guess the fact that it meant something for him made it matter for me.

OMG I love the soundtrack. Honestly its so hard to choose one part of the whole because you're right about how well it fits together. It just feeds the magic doesn't it?
I don't think I can choose. I keep thinking of that music video that those guys did on youtube 'Harry Potter in 99 Seconds', which sums up my love for the whole thing and how well they tie in together.

My least favourite character is Harry Potter. It bothers me that he has such a narrow view of the world. He doesn't notice the things that I'd notice, or question the things that I'd question, so when I want to know more about something, he's already moved on because he doesn't care. It also bothers me that he's automatically SO trusting of Dumbledore and SO against Snape, even though someone he trusts (good ol' Dumbledore, who REALLY has his own agenda, more than Harry thinks) trusts Snape implicitly.
Quest. HUMMMM.
I think it depends on the quest. I mean if it is a 3am mission for a kebab/pie/burger/insert your favourite 3am hot greasy food here, then you'd be choosing a different crew to support said mission than say, finding the elixir of life right?
Since I'm more likely to go on a 3am pie mission than any other sort, I'm going to say Hagrid (so I can ride in the bike woo!), Luna, because she'd crack me up, and at 3am entertainment is a GOOD THING, and Snape, because I generally think he'd be kind of funny to take anywhere, and could come in handy in the most surprising of ways.
Aaaaaaand....
The weirdest question I have ever been asked.... probably isn't SS appropriate so I'm going to keep that one to myself XD

No laughing, I promise.
RPG stands for Role Play Game, and while the internet can probably explain it better than I can, basically you take the role of a character that you make up, and you write them into a giant interactive story. Kind of like acting on paper, but you don't have a script or have any clue what will happen next as you are only responsible for your own character's thoughts and actions, while everyone else is responsible for theirs.

Book : Tomorrow When the War Began by James Marsden
Its written so well, the voices of all the charries are clear and its edge of your seat the entire way through that book and the six that follow it in the series.
Movie: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Its clever and very aware of itself as a movie. I love how the story unravels and how you care about the characters so much. Its very well acted and the cinematography and the script are brilliant too. Has a film noir feel which I like when done well.

And cricket, everything I know about the sport I learned from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. And what little i know about netball came from Spaced.
Now, on to my question. Being a film buff myself, I have to ask, what is your favorite film genre?

Okay. See the genre thing is mood related but I love Action movies, especially clever ones, or those that could be classed as Film Noir, and comedies and sci fi and fantasy do it for me too. I like a good drama but it has to have OOMPH so usually not JUST a drama, but an action drama or comedy drama. lol.

My former RPG character wants me to say Abraxans so we'll go with that.
I think the Lethifold is really interesting too though.

At first nothing attracted me. I was all meh. And then Snape showed himself awesome and intriguing and from there I got into it more.

It WAS a flower. But I chose it cos I joined wanting to RP and you know.... *creative* lol.
And I'm looking forward to it. Is it still going to be in two parts though? Teggerz is not a fan of things that come in two parts.

I actually have no idea what you mean. Pottermore? Here on SS? On other random sites? Or just a wand and core that I think suits me?
Probably just in general, not a specific site. I have recently been doing research on wands(potter based) and just found it interesting. Figured not too many people have probably asked you that question
