Hey y'all! *waves shyly* My name is Jess and I'm one of the mods you get to know for the month of August.
I've joined SS almost four years ago and been fairly active around the site since January 2007. I've held numerous positions around the site from Prefect and Quidditch Captain and Head Boy in the School RP to Division Head during the Ministry RP July Jubilation in 2007 to Department Head in the Ministry, Shopkeeper Assistant of Floreans, Quill, Daily Prophet and SotS writer, and various Fan Club Officer positions.
Currently, I hold the position of Arithmancy Professor in the School RP, playing the sweet and naive Professor Hadley, as well as Shopkeeper of Madam Primpernelle's, Fan Club and Menagerie Moderator.
Offsite, I'm a workaholic. I'm a Supervisor (formerly titled as Operations Coordinator) at a Movie Theater by night, but by day, an employee of Wendy's (with preference to work drive-thru because I'm insane like that). I tell myself that I only work so much because if I didn't, I'd wind up as a lazy bum . . . But in truth, I would love to find a regular FULL-TIME job. My interests = all of you lovely people!

I could take the easy route and just say I was a bored college student, which is in part true, but not the full story. See before SS, I was actually a member of Dissendium.com since Sept 2005, which I joined because when I was looking up info/trailers/sneaks on the WB site for Goblet of Fire, I came across info on the Triwizard Tournament they were doing and looked interested. A year or so later, things started to get quiet but I was addicted to the idea of HP fansites, which is why some of the people I talked to on Dissendium introduced me to SnitchSeeker (they were affiliate sites).
But I have mostly Kerry (shortfry) to thank for bring me back to the site in Jan 2007 after I forgot about it for a couple months.... and I've been hooked ever since.
So yea... in short, it was a combination of Dissendium.com and Kerry that brought me to SnitchSeeker

Anyways, so I posted the same question to the other mods, but that's only because I'm really interested in this portion of a person's life, it's sweet and the answer makes me feel closer to that person because we've shared something special ^^

Personally I would answer a big YES to that question, My Girlfriend Karen and I have a very deep, emotional relationship and I'd like to hope that It'll stay that way. Karen is amazing! She's the sweetest, smartest, kindest, most beautiful girl I have EVER known! Um.... any magical creature? I'd be a Phoenix .... totally!!!  For one, it was in my previous username, in which i had created based off a myspace name / which was based off of a nickname i got Freshmen year of college. The week before I started college, i (and like 100 other new freshmen) went to this camp type thing... for a couple days, led by upperclassmen. Just a way to get to know your fellow peers and have the older students introduce you... Anyway, one of the upperclassmen, he decided he was gonna call me 'Phoenix' because of my red hair... and he did.

Awwwwwwwwww  Poor Jess. Gosh, I don't know what to say. I really hope you find someone soon, It'll change your life forever. I honestly didn't believe it would be that big of a deal, I had had crushes before this and a girlfriend or two, but.. No. I met Karen and she just.. Geeze, I can't even describe it.. It's a wonderful thing when the Love is mutual. There's an upside and a downside, the Upside being that.. Well, You're in freakin' Love! That's amazing! The Downside/Also Upside is the fact that this person is going to occupy EVERY. SINGLE. WAKING. MINUTE. OF. YOUR. LIFE. For a Long time. I remember not being able to get Karen out of my head at all the first... 6 Months. Once we finally confessed our feelings to each other, It was amazing and much easier for me. I became able to function in society again seeing as I knew how she felt and I didn't have to worry anymore. I still think about her a lot. We've been together for a long time now. GOSH! I Love her sooo much!! >.< I Can't tell you how much >.< It can't be done!! I really hope you feel Love soon. This is Wonderful and I want this for everyone! =D

Heh. I don't know so much about extraordinaire, but sure... xD. Yes I've seen many a captain come and go in my time though. As far as tips? i think that might be different as to what I'd tell a future Huffie Captain versus any captain
Anyway... tips for current and future captains: be organized. It's key to any leadership position really, but even more important for captains to be organized... with selecting your team and practice schedules and all that jazz.

(OuO) Hello there! No . . . when sorting time comes, which is due to open on the 8th (but might be the 9th with regards to timezones), you will submit a questionnaire to be sorted. You're then manually sorted by the admins of the site, so it could take a few hours or a few days. =)

Quidditch Captains are positions specific to the School RP and they are responsible for organizing tryouts and selecting a team/reserves to be approved by the Quidditch Official. They, then, have the responsibility of holding practices to get their team ready for the 'game'. It's a trivia-style game held in two sessions, generally.
Of course the captain should have had some experience playing quidditch in the School RP in previous terms, as well as be an active RPer too =)

Do you have any book recommendations? I want to read something new (before school starts), and I'm drawing a blank.
Second, have you been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter yet?
