Alongside your regular Meet thread for the month of April where you can meet Stormdancer, we also have a special guest, longtime member Nordic Witch!

Ask some questions, get to know her better, and without further ado, here is Nordic Witch!


Hello, Hello, I’m Nordic Witch, but as many SSers know me I’m Eva and I will be your April meet the member. I hope you are all excited and doing well because April means sorting month in the Hogwarts RPG and an open Diagon Alley for lots of roleplaying!::woot! But what I also like about this month is that you guys can ask me questions, which I really like answering.

Here are some general facts about me; I’m 33 years old and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I don’t have children and no boyfriend, but I have a russian blue cat that I adore that I live in an apartment with. I’ve worked full time as a playworker for 3 years in May this year with about 120, 6-10 year olds and I love it but it’s exhausting sometimes. In 3rd grade that I help out in during the school day they are currently reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as their reading aloud book and every Friday they get to look at the Prisoner of Azkaban movie for the bit they’ve read in class.

I have been on SS since 2005, so over 14 years I’ve been on here. When I was a student I was sorted into Gryffindor and then after that I was asked to join the Hogwarts School Staff in term 30 and there I’ve been ever since. I’ve had the position as Astronomy Professor, Librarian, Divination Professor, Slytherin HoH, Ravenclaw HoH and currently Groundskeeper and Herbology Professor.

Hi!

I must say my favourite professor character that I'm still playing in the ministry is Laurel who taught divination at Hogwarts and is a seer. The challenge with a witch with seer abilities e.g an Inner Eye is super fun to play out and test in the rp. And i adore Laurel she is a fun character to give voice to. Joshua has his quirks and fun factor too but Laurel is dearest to my heart.

1. If i got another pet then it'd be another cat most likely or another animal that can get along with my cat who is quite the character.
2. I'm reading a book called 'The Seven Sisters' by Lucinda Riley it's based on the legend about the starkonstellation Pleiades and it is interesting, has suspence and romance and is even a bit magical.
3. My second choice as a profession would probably be flight attendant i think since i've always liked travelling to different countries.

1. Oo though question...I would say somewhere in Australia since seeing pictures and films of it makes me think it's an amazing country to visit.

2. Favourite movie. Another hard question but i'd have to say all the Lord of the Rings movies. I'm a fan of the Tolkien books and have read them all a number of times.

What is the first thing you do when creating a roleplay character? i.e. Do you first come up with a name and face? Do you start by building the personality?

1. I love Professor Wishart's fascination for all plants and fungi because i'm not that way in RL. Sure i have plant's but i'm not very invested in where they come from and so like Wishart would be.

2. I say Laurel definitley because it'd be super cool to be able to predict the future like a seer and get warnings before bad things happen.

Hi!

First thing i do is come up with a name and heritage, then i start building the characters personailty and background. Choosing a face usually comes last for me.

My favourite thing about Harry Potter is the magical world that J.k Rowling has created and the characters, spells and creatures. If i can just pick a few things.

That was though question. I think both schools has their pros and cons but if i had to really pick one or the other I'd go with roleplaying at Beauxbatons. Veelas are fascinating and learning french could be fun so i pick the french school.

1. I took Spanish in school since we we're taught a foreign language but i've forgotten most of it now so i can't really speak it. Just a few phrases.
2. I want to meet youu.

1. I've been on staff since I think august 2011. It feels exciting and super fun to be a student again. Favourite professor to play is a tie between Leo and Laurel since they both have their sides that i just love like Laurel's seer/divination quirks and Leo book loving nerdness.
2. Hot chocolate always. I don't like tea or coffee.
3. I don't like eggs but if i had to force myself then hard cooked.
4. Yes i still sail. We'll put the boat in the ocean on thursday and then the sailing season starts...
5. Yes I love shopping stuff from IKEA because they sell so much merchandise at reasonable prices like bookshelves and so on.
6. ABBA is a great band. I love their music it never becomes old.

Hiiiii!

1. No sorry I've never watched anime movies/ showes or read any manga series so I sadly don't have an opinion if i would like it or dislike it.

2. If you mean theater plays in RL then when i was in 9th grade in school we put up a christmas play and i played an elf. If it's on SS then i've not had a playing role in any of the plays that Kate ran in the school rpg a few terms back.

3. Yes I wouldn't mind re-learning spanish sometime again but right now in RL I have enough with full time work. (I didn't know you speak spanish. I guess you learn something new each day.)

4. I really loved the harry potter films and books too and have seen and re read them a few times. The fantastic movies weren't as good if i had to rate them against each other. I'd give the fantastic films maybe 6-7 on an up to 10 scale while the potter films all scores 9-10's.

Hello! How neat! Does that mean you can speak swedish too?

1. Favourite harry potter books is goblet of fire.

2. I want to say it's a tie but if it's either or then i choose the books.

3. Laurel is my favourite charrie and i still play here on site.
