2017: Meet Kimothy

Alongside your regular Meet thread this month where you can meet me, (Tegz), we also have a special guest, Kimothy who is our official Shriek week winner and the Shriek of the Week for July!

Without further ado, here is Kimothy!

First and foremost, welcome to the Snitchseeker family! My name is Kim, but I also have a plethora of nicknames given to me by friends I've met in here like Kimmy and Kimothy among others. On top of that, I've had the most fortunate opportunity to be the latest Shriek Week winner! Hooray!

I've been a member of this site since August 2011, signing up at a very young age as PotterHeadforLife. I have always been in the house of Slytherin within the School RPG, and even served as the Female Prefect and, eventually, Head Girl with my first ever character, who is one of my current Ministry of Magic characters. I've also held other positions in the RPG world such as the Magical Games & Sports department head and Knockturn Alley shopkeeper, too. Currently, I play a fourth year Slytherin girl and two Ministry employees. My favorite part of being on Snitchseeker has always been the Wizarding World RPG because I was able to practice my writing, and I met amazing people who will always have a special place in my heart.

Behind the computer screen, I am still a student, who dreams to become a doctor one day, and a member of my school paper.

I hope you will enjoy what we have to offer here in this lovely site. Feel free to ask me about anything as long as it doesn't go against the site rules. I don't bite, I promise!

Hehe.

1. My life isn't that interesting! So, here we go...
a. My first pet and dog ever was named Sandy!
b. I have braces on my lower teeth!
c. My dream place to visit is a tie between London and Germany! (Hawaii is a close contender, too.)
d. I currently take up French as a foreign language elective in school!
e. I suck at describing myself, so I genuinely hope these will suffice! Haha!

2. I come from a family of doctors and lawyers, and I've considered pursuing the latter but I'm hesitant about it. And medicine is a really great profession, being able to help others. I'm currently unsure as to what specialization I want, but I'm leaning towards anesthesiology or speech therapy at the moment.

3. I haven't tried them all yet, sadly, but my first ever Starbucks drink is their Caramel Cream Frappe. I always buy it, probably out of habit.

4. Haha! The boyfriend is fiiiiiine. Though we have different class schedules and our breaks rarely match, we're still pretty much okay!

5. What a HARD QUESTION. I'd say everything, but I'd be lying. I'd miss my friends the most, especially the ones I've been with since preschool. I'll also miss my school, which was been my second home for six years now. I'm really excited to move on to university life, but I'll always miss the comforts of home.

6. That depends on what kind of place you wanna visit? If you're for the beach, I suggest Boracay, El Nido, and Siargao (our country's surfing capital). For cooler climate, we have Tagaytay and Baguio (our summer capital). For culture and history, perhaps Vigan and Cebu. I could go on about this, so hit me up if you wanna know more.

2. My least favorite is... uhh... I dunno. None? Maybe Order of the Phoenix? However, it's more of an answer to my least favorite movie. The movie didn't give justice to the approximately 800 pages of the book.
3. Unfortunately, I haven't seen nor read the Cursed Child yet. I live in a country where it's really rare to see international plays performed live.
4. I hope so, one day! I have my fingers crossed that they'd come by and visit my country. I'd probably be in tears.

My favorite thing about Harry Potter is definitely the amount of effort J.K. Rowling has placed to widen the Wizarding World for us. At first, it was just kind of like Hogwarts and Diagon Alley, but with Pottermore, other published books, and the release of the Fantastic Beasts movie, it just gives us more to imagine and it makes me wish that I was a witch sooo badly. It gets me excited and all WOOOOOW at it.

Technically, I can buy, and book stores here actually sell the Cursed Child. However, considering that I'm still a student, I haven't found the time to focus solely on reading it. Also, the book is really expensive here.

This is a hard question! There's nothing I actually wanna change? It's nice that it isn't so picture-perfect, that even the world of wizards has flaws in their government and system. It just makes it seem realistic! Anyway, if we were talking about the Harry Potter generation, it'd be about the way they treat Muggles that I'd like to change, for obvious reasons. But if there actually is anything that I want to change with today's wizarding world, basing on what information they have on Pottermore and tiny spoilers from Queen Rowling, I'd still want my Hogwarts acceptance letter even if it's years late! I wanna be a witch, too! That's the thing I want to change! I hope I answered your question, though.

1. I didn't really 'grow up' with Harry Potter because the first book came out before I was born. *is a baby, whoops* But well, the HP series was the reason why I got so hooked to reading. It was the first one I finished, and I was so in love with it back when I was ten. I can vividly remember crying when the epilogue scene was on while I was watching the final movie with my friends. *WIBBLES* So magical. Though it's been years since then, I still get all the feels. I could write more about my love for the Wizarding World but yuppppp. *sniffs*
2. I do! I can speak Filipino, which is my national language... and also my regional dialect. Currently, I'm taking up French as my foreign language elective.
3. Bahaha, tbh yes! I'm a proud Slytherin since I was like... eleven? But I wouldn't mind getting sorted into another house. A lot of Sorting Hat quizzes online have placed me in Ravenclaw, too. I can safely say that I'm a Slytherclaw? Is that acceptable?
4. I've seriously considered this since Kat graduated. I think I'll be skipping off to another house here on SS when Vivi finishes school. That depends.
5. That's definitely a NO. Maybe she'll start eating it less when she gets older, but I can't see her totally abandoning her favorite. Oooooh, and yes! Maybe next term, when I've settled things at school and for university applications. And of course, she wouldn't let the opportunity to see more of Professor Crushy Hirsch go.

Yes, yes.... ANSWERS!

1. Uhm... flavor of? I wanna assume it's ice cream, so that's strawberry and cookies & cream!
2. HOGWARTS! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I would cry all the time.

4. HMMMMM... too many active voices in my head at the moment. But right now, I definitely enjoy roleplaying Vivian (Hogwarts charrie) and Dana (Ilvermorny charrie). I love playing teenagers because I can relate + dramaz! My first charrie, Kat, is in that list, too... but I haven't had much opportunities to wake her up since her graduation, except for our RP in the Hangout right now.
