Hello! 
I'm MJ and I'll be your Meet the Mod for July!
Here on SnitchSeeker, I've been a member for 11 years - wow, does time fly when you're having fun! Over the years, I've enjoyed so many different areas of SS and have held several positions. Currently, I help moderate the Newbie Forum (here!) and S t. Mungo's Roleplaying Forum where members can create their own roleplays with Harry Potter characters or their own SSRPG characters. I'm also a Department Head in the Ministry of Magic RPG and I enjoy RPing in the Hogwarts RPG with my fifth year Slytherin.
In real life, I'm an art teacher to middle school and high school. And yes, I am really enjoying my summer off right now, though it's still finding me as busy as ever somehow. I'm also the mother of two boys as well as my fur babies - three cats and a dog. Quote:

1. Honestly, this changes all the time. I think it tends to be whomever I'm playing with most at that current moment. And right now, I'd have to say I'm really enjoying playing Gunnar.
2. This probably sounds really lame, but when I look forward to having summers off from school, I'm just looking forward to being lazy in front of the TV lol.
3. Mmm, idk... I like a lot of different things and different authors. But I used to be really into Stephen King when I was younger and I still enjoy many of his books. 11/22/63 was amazing.

1. I think my favorite part for that age is watching them develop their skills as artists and guiding that for them. And also, for especially the older students, some of them have such great, inspirational ideas and I enjoy helping them create their visions.
2. I do a lot of Netflix and Hulu binge watching. Right now, I'm finishing up Lucifer, then I need to get caught up on The Handmaid's Tale. After that, I have the current seasons of Stranger Things and Dark slated to watch.
3. Breakfast is my favorite. I usually have some sort of pastry or muffin with a cup of coffee. It makes me happy and is just a nice start to the day.

1. I'm not even sure what prompted me to read the books. I was never into all the hype around them or the movies until all the books were published. But one day I checked out all seven books from the library and read them all in about two weeks and was pretty hooked.
2. Ravenclaw is the house I most identify with, so I suppose that makes it my favorite. I really wish there had been more representation for Ravenclaw in the books - even though I love Luna and Cho - and it bugs me to no end how they changed the colors from blue and bronze to blue and silver in the films lol.
3. Hmm, good question. I don't know that I've ever really related myself to any of the characters. Maybe Tonks? She always seemed like the creative type to me.
4. I read a lot of different things, though I've never really been into another series the way I was into HP. I did like the Hunger Games series and the Divergent series. Stephen King was a favorite when I was younger, I was really into thrillers and horror. And I liked classics by Charles Dickens. These days, I read whatever looks interesting.
Do you have any suggestions? And if you are a reader, I hope you'll check out our new book club!

1. Oh, ummm... good question! (and if you don't mind, I just might use this in a St Mungo's discussion) Honestly, I don't have just one set way of creating a character and I think it depends on some different factors. I tend to develop a backstory for them first, and sometimes I already have an established history if they are related to a current character. I take into account family dynamics and how that might affect a personality or what makes sense to me. And sometimes I loosely base personalities on my students, or a combination of them lol.
2. Oh I already know what red tastes like. It tastes just like those cinnamon red hot candies. 
3. Oh wow, umm... maybe Daria from that old MTV show? Pretty accurate picture of my high school experience lol.
