The Office of Gidyun Yenorin

http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...psd99bf93e.jpg

A spacious office is right outside the waiting area. Connected to his office is a medium sized conference room, where Gid might hold meetings with other members of the ministry that might appear from other locations around London. Void of much of his personal items, he still does have a picture of his family on his desk. Very few books appear on his shelves, only the few that he brought from home. Still remember! Be very careful of using magic in Muggle London! If you use magic, there might be a muggle just around the corner watching.

ooc: Feel free to play muggles for each other and their reactions!

Strolling into Gidyun's office, Charles put his now disconnected computer down on Gidyun's desk and then straightened up, looked around the room and walked out. He wasn't going to be dealing with all this newfangled stuff. Gidyun could put the computer anywhere but back into the office he'd claimed as his own.

Lizasaurus 02-18-2014 03:22 PM

He headed into his office, after finally doing one last check around the offices and making sure everything was ready for the employees. Why in merlin's name, everyone had to have computers was beyond him. He had one at home that he and Becca used but he'd not used it for work at the office. Now to get used to having that as well, maybe he'd just...wait, what in merlin's name? He stared at his desk where the computer and monitor and everything else sat. Who...and why? Looking back to his door, he shook his head and started getting all the extra equipment out and heading back to reception to have Constance get rid of it. Whomever it was, obviously didn't want the computer.

Sighing he went back into his office once it was all taken care of and sat down in his chair.

Cynthia crept in. She wasn't sure if she was welcome. Her boss was inside the office, which she noted was much larger than her cubicle. Glancing at a photo on the desk, she cleared her throat, beginning,
"Good morning, Mr. Yenorin. I'm Cynthia." Wait, she'd already said that in the work area. "Do you think we could use portkeys to regain access to the ministry?" She finished with an I-should-be-taken-seriously-ish scowl, hoping she didn't come off as nervous.

With one quick Knock ,Stephen strode into his bosses new office. Once in there he checked out the spacious office. He liked what he was seeing, he had to admit it seemed pretty comfortable. Which brought him to why he was here now.

"Chief I think its time we had a little talk" .Yes because with this new move to the Muggle world he was losing sleep and what better way to get over his insomnia than getting a nice incentive for his troubles?

Looking up from his desk, he smiled kindly at Cynthia, "Please call me Gidyun." He really didn't like that stuffy Mr....sir...chief? Looking towards the door when he heard a knock, "Please call me Gidyun or Gid." he repeated so Stephen would hear him as well. They all worked together and it might be easier just going by name, unless they preferred otherwise. "I really wish portkeys worked for the ministry." he said quietly shaking his head. Glancing towards his phone he hoped Constance didn't have that speaker on that he'd caught her doing so often listening in. Blasted muggles...

"Portkeys unfortunately take us to random places, and have been worse than the apparating and floo's. We've had to obliviate a few muggles when we've appeared in front of them with a portkey." Yeah not a pretty thing to try and explain... Standing there holding a toothbrush and appearing out of no where in the middle of someone's house? He shrugged and sighed shaking his head "We need to get in, but everything we've tried so far has blown up in our faces."

He had caught the bit about Stephen needing to talk though, so he looked to Cynthia first to see if there was anything else, "I assure you we're doing everything we can. I'm hoping maybe someone in our level might have an idea though, that we haven't tried. We've even tried the loo that was used years ago, and all we got were wet feet."

Hmm lets see..Stephen debated within himself, he kinda liked the idea of calling him chief but on the other side how many ministry employees could call there boss in such a casual way?...hmm..Ok, he decided he would alternate.

Something clicked Stephen somehow hadn't registered that someone else was in the office as well. he looked and noted one of the rookie employees. It would appear they were talking about getting back in the ministry.

Well while it was one of his top priorities to get back to the Wizarding world ministry, This also was a priority he had been meaning to talk with Gidyun about.

"So I'm thinking that it was time I got myself a swanky office like yours only better, you know?" Cubicles just weren't cutting it for Stephen he was a guy with rich taste and a cubicle area wouldn't be enough to express that. "So I was thinking of using the all the unused area to kind of make myself a office/gym/library/theater?"

"Also I've reached out to my contacts for anyway they think we could get back in,i should be hearing from them soon"

This was the same man who'd rescued her from the Testing room. She appreciated it in her own Cynthia way, but who was he kidding now? An office/gym/library/theater? It annoyed her the way he said "chief" so casually.

And as for her boss, she was disappointed that her idea wouldn't work. She'd expected as much, since it was a simple, logical way that (if it worked) would already have them back to the ministry. She wouldn't call her boss Mr. Yenorin if he didn't like it. Cynthia thought that Gid was just too informal for her taste. She settled for Gidyun.
"Yes, Mr. Gidyun, sir," she said. She was aware that he probably didn't like "sir" either, but it was too late now. "I should have realized."

His attention was drawn to Stephen again and he just stared when he said he thought he should get some swanky office like his only better. "An office, gym, library and theatre. Really now?" he asked a hint of amusement. Sitting back in his seat he shook his head "Well, I think you can do amazing things with your cubicle, whatever you can fit in that space you can absolutely put in it. Even take a window cubicle and have a lovely view of the St. Mungo's Association building." If he could put a library, gym, and theatre in there go for it.

"The foreign relations officer, is an important officer, but you still have 2 other people that you work side by side with. And I think you would better fit precisely where you are, with your coworkers. I have a bigger office, due to the meetings I need to have with people and need some privacy." When he said about his contacts, he nodded "Wonderful. As soon as you hear I'd love to hear of their ideas."

Actually, Cynthia disagreed with her boss. She thought it would be smart for her to try and enter. Not through apparition or floo of course, but she needed to witness the problem for herself in order to understand it. She resolved to try the toilets during her lunch break.
"Okay, got it," she replied. Cynthia nodded and left the office without waiting for a dismissal.

Walking up to the door, Meredith gave it a few quick knocks and quietly opened it. "G'morning Gidyun." She said with a smile to the man sitting at his desk. "How're you doing?" She asked, walking slowly into the room. She smiled kindly at the two other unfamiliar faces, "Morning." She said to them, giving them both a small wave. Turning back to Gidyun, "Would you like me to come back later, sir?" Mere said. She had really hoped that nothing had been interrupted by her entrance.

He opened his mouth to speak when she spoke and pretty much left the office. Okay then. He wasn't sure what had made her leave so abruptly but well, he didn't stop her.

Glancing towards Stephen he shook his head at Meredith "No, I believe we're quite done here, please have a seat." he responded with a smile for her but still was looking towards Stephen. Seriously....a library and gym? "Stephen think on what I said. You can put anything you'd like in that cubicle of yours, they are quite spacious."

Merlin, he wouldn't be surprised if he did take that closed off area and do something. Already 2 offices had been taken...

Wait, was the man seriously complaining about his cubicle? Dear Merlin, she wanted so badly to turn and shake her head disapprovingly at Stephen, but held that in. She turned her attention towards her boss and quietly took a seat. "You wanted to see me Gidyun?" Mere asked him.

Stephen watched the exchange between Gidyun and Cynthia and when the latter had promptly left he found it a bit odd but had decided not to comment.

"OK fine how's about I offer to share the theater/Gym/library and just keep one of the unused spaces as my office or if your still not totally sold on that we could invest in a hot tub" with that said he said he sent a wink to one of the me employees he hadn't had the chance to meet,he could tell that she didn't approve of his request but maybe if she though she could get something out of it who knows? "I'd be more than happy to share"

He just stared at him now. Seriously? A HOT TUB? He really wasn't getting it was he? "Okay I'll make you a deal, if there are two cubicles together that are both free, you may take those cubicles and make a nice sized cubicle office for yourself. Does that sound good? Double the size of everyone else's. We'll even help you move the extra desk and computer stuff out of one, so you have all that space to do anything you wish with." That was MORE than fair! Hot tub? In an office?

Just...no, he wasn't ready to figure this out again, he was already dealing with 2 others who wanted their own offices and took them!. Looking back to Meredith he nodded, "Yes, unfortunately Meghan has had to go on leave. I was wondering if you would feel up to being the liaison to the press along with your position of Foreign Relations Officer."

HogwartsStudent11 02-28-2014 05:09 AM

Cynthia had come in again. Everyone was looking at her as if saying, why'd you leave so abruptly? She heard her boss's words to...was her name...Meredith? Miranda? She nodded approvingly at her coworker's new job. Why was someone on leave? It wasn't her business to know, but she wanted to.

"Has anyone seen my scales?" Cynthia asked. She needed to put them back in the Testing room where they belonged. "Accio! Accio!" Ugh, they must've been out of range.

"That seems reasonable" For now Because yes he would be addressing this once they got back to the ministry."I understand with the way things are we have to keep low so after we get back to the ministry we can re-discuss"

Meredith nodded, she hadn't seen Meghan around in a while, so it had become clear that the liaison position was open. However, she didn't want to make a quick decision that she would end up regretting, even if she was completely up for it now. She sat for a minute thinking it over, liaison to the press wasn't so different from her own job, they were in the same committee. It would be a great opportunity to get to work in both jobs. "I'd love to take up the position." Meredith said, smiling. "Is there anything I should know about it, other than what's in the job description?" She asked.

Or were they possibly in the testing room?

Nodding, he smiled as Stephen finally agreed and didn't argue about his suggestion. Wait, what? Rediscuss this once the ministry was back to normal? Merlin he had no idea what they would be going back into once they finally got into the ministry let alone trying to figure out how to put a hot tub, library and work out room in it as well! Maybe he needed a training room down on level 2....hmm he could talk to Emily about Stephen using that.

"Yes, we'll uhh talk about it once we're back in the ministry." There, happy? He'd figure something out to deter that again between now and then...

"Fantastic!" he said with a bright smile. Great he finally had a liaison to the press again! "Well, we just want to make sure the dignitaries have complete faith that we won't let it leak out to the Daily Prophet or anywhere else that they are here if they do not want to have that known. Some of the meetings are top secret and we'd like to keep that under wraps, so just ensuring that their arrival and being here remains unnoticed is the biggest part of the position."

She let out a small sigh of relief, the job really wasn't at all much different from the other. "That sounds great!" She said, memorizing anything she wasn't familiar with about the new job. "Thank you for the opportunity, by the way." Meredith said with an excited smile. She was eager to explore the new job, as well as advance her knowledge on both positions. Maybe it was just the inner Ravenclaw coming out? She inwardly laughed at her not-so-funny joke. "Well if that's all I guess I'll be off...?" She asked, still smiling.
