X-tinguish “Penny’s coming home today!” Isa left her breakfast and jumped up from her chair, leaping around the kitchen shouting “Penny’s coming home, Penny’s coming home, Penny’s coming home!” BOOM! A flash of light and smoke came from the toaster that was now on fire. In all her excitement, Isa had accidentally blown up Dad’s toaster. Oops. “Mum! The toaster’s on fire!” Isa shrieked as she watched the burning toaster in horror. Hopefully mum would be able to extinguish the flames. She was going to be in so much trouble for this. Another muggle device that she wouldn’t be allowed near. |
90. Present For the first time since arriving at Hogwarts, an overwhelming wave of loneliness swept over Isa. Soon tears were streaming down her face. She had never been this far away from home alone before. Even when Penny was at Hogwarts, Isa had always had her parents. Isa remembered how she used to cling to Penny’s leg, begging her not to leave. It would be almost 4 months before she could go home to her family, which was a long time. She wasn’t even sure if she could survive a whole week without seeing her parents, much less the whole term. |
25. Sorting Hat Finally they were calling Wright, Isabel! Isa stepped up to the platform and sat down on the stool. Eagerly, she waited in excitement to find out what house she would be in as the hat was placed upon her head. She was hoping to be a Hufflepuff like mum, or in Ravenclaw like Penny. Ah, another Wright. I sorted your sister not too long ago, and before that, your mother. You’ve certainly got the brains to bee in Ravenclaw like your sister was, but I see something different in you. What you value above all else is your family. "Hufflepuff!" |
27. Owl 27. Owl The moment Isa saw the magnificent eagle owl in Eeylop’s she knew that she had to have this owl. “Mum! This is the one!” Isa stared into the owl’s eyes. He was beautiful. “I’m going to call you Wulfweardsweorth. Wulfy for short.” She absolutely loved the tufts on his ears and the brown spots on his feathers. He was quite large, standing about two feet tall. His piercing gaze made her feel like he was staring into her soul, seeing everything that she felt and thought, connecting with her. The owl seemed to like her too. He would be hers. |
47. Portkey 47. Portkey Decade mini challenge Ugh, that snack earlier had not been a good idea, Isa thought as she vomited on the ground. The portkey journey had not proved to be a pleasant one. What a way to start this trip. For almost a decade she had been dreaming of traveling to see the abundant flora of Brazil. Here she was, finally in Brazil all summer for the chance of a lifetime to study herbology, and she was just looking like an idiot who doesn’t know how to travel by portkey without getting sick. This was terrible. She never wanted to travel by portkey again. |
