The Book Seekers Reading Challenge 2022

:bookstack: The Book Seekers' Reading Challenge 2022 :bookstack:

Welcome to The Book Seekers’ THIRD annual reading challenge! The theme for 2022 is THIS or THAT - essentially each prompt gives you TWO options, and your job is to read a book inspired by ONE of those choices. There are 14 prompts in total but fear not; you don’t need to complete all of them to win. “Win? Isn’t this supposed to be just for fun?” you might ask. You’re right, it is, but we want to award your accomplishments, too. If you take part in this reading challenge – no matter how many prompts you manage to complete – you will be awarded an accolade. There are additional prizes for those who manage to complete 7 prompts and for those who manage to complete all 14 prompts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
  • Post in THIS thread: “I solemnly swear that I am up for this challenge! :read:”
  • That same post will become your reading log for the challenge.
  • Record which prompts you have completed and the books (title and author) you read for them by editing them into your post.
  • Please make sure it's clear whether the prompt is COMPLETED or IN PROGRESS.
  • Have fun!

GUIDELINES & OTHER INFORMATION:
  • You MUST read a different book for each prompt. We encourage you to read books that you haven’t read before, too, but this isn’t a rule.
  • You can sign up for the challenge at any point during the year. Any books that you have read during 2022 can count towards this challenge.
  • While you are more than welcome to do BOTH options per prompt, only one is required per prompt and you cannot substitute - meaning you can't skip one of the prompts and try to complete the challenge by doing both options on another, for example.
  • This is NOT a discussion thread. The Book Nook is, though, and these are some of the things we encourage you to post about in there:
    • Discussion relating to TBS Reading Challenge
    • Sharing and asking for book recommendations for the prompts

And, finally…

THE PROMPTS
Quote:

  • Start a new book series OR reread the first book in an older book series
  • Read a book in a format you don't normally read (e-book, hardcover, etc) OR read a book from a genre you don't normally read
  • Read a book that has been turned into a movie OR a book that has been turned into a TV series
  • Read a previous BotM pick OR a book recommended by another member
  • Read a book that is longer than 400 pages OR less than 100 pages
  • Read a book based in your own country OR a country you would like to travel to.
  • Read a book you have had on your TBR list for more than a year OR read a book you just added to your TBR list.
  • Read a autobiography OR a memoir
  • Read a book with a snowstorm involved OR a book with a beach setting
  • Read a book based on a small town OR a book based in a big city
  • Read a historical fiction based on WWI OR a historical fiction based on WWII
  • Read a book set in the future OR a book set in the past
  • Read a book from an author you love OR a book from an author you have never heard of
  • Read a book from an author that shares your initials OR a book from an author that shares your favorite Harry Potter Character's initials

If you have any queries, PM Bazinga, Lissy Longbottom or Felixir.

Happy reading! ^_^
