Great discussion topic!

Not counting ebooks and Audible editions of books, I typically don't collect multiple editions of the same book. Harry Potter is the only exception to this, currently. Maybe in the future (when I have more money and space for them) I will collect more editions of my favourite books.

As for Harry Potter, I currently own several different editions. I have complete sets of the original Bloomsbury UK paperback edition and the Bloomsbury 2014 UK paperback edition (see images 1 and 2 under the spoiler). I have all the currently available Scholastic Illustrated hardback edition (img 3). I have some of the Audible and ebook editions (img 4). And I have the Bloomsbury Ravenclaw House paperback edition of Philosopher's Stone (img 5).

SPOILER!!: woo cover thumbnails

I want to get Philosopher's Stone in all four House paperback editions, as well as a copy translated into Spanish, but that will have to wait until I have adequate space to store/display them all.

It used to be a case of I didn't duplicate books.. but there are so many pretty editions and covers that I love that I can't seem to help myself sometimes.... however in saying that - so far I have managed to keep my duplicates to the following;

I have 3 hard copies of Harry Potter and the audible version. My original set that I got as they were being printed in the UK. My mum used to love me on release day Richie bought me the red hardback, boxed set for my birthday last year and I haven't taken the cellophane off of it... and I've been buying the illustrated copies as they have been released because they are gorgeous. I have the Steven Fry audiobook version and I reallly get a kick out of listening to them in the car when I'm on long journeys.

SPOILER!!: Harry Potter

I have like 1 and a Half copies of the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman, as I lent the first book of my original black/white set and I have never seen it again so my parter bought me the first four books in the new cover that was out for my birthday last year. I have 2 of the original "Checkmate" copies, because I got one signed from when Malorie was in Aberdeen back in about 2006. I didn't want to read that copy, so I bought a second copy to read. Honestly, if I hadn't lost the first copy, and then struggled to find the same cover... I'm not sure if I would actually have a second set as much as I loved this series.

SPOILER!!: Noughts and Crosses

My newest writer whose work I'm expanding is Maria Snyder's. I adore her, I'm sorry.. There are a lot of her books that had multiple covers (a young adult and an adult equivelant) that due to the YA copy selling well enough, they didn't even finish off the adult equivelants. I have a copy of "Inside" coming at some point which was an edition that got run with Inside Out and Outside In, printed together and is also out of print now. I met her back in 2015, and she signed all of her books I had at that point (all 10 of her published books to date) ... now I have many more that aren't signed, but whenever I get to meet her again I'll see how many I can take with me haha.

SPOILER!!: Maria Snyder

Well, for Harry Potter itself I only own the 2014 Bloomsbury UK edition. Funny that I don't own the translated version (Indonesian) because back then, they stopped publishing Harry Potter around 2010 ish, and I didn't have much money to buy them when I was younger and available. The publisher now re-print it with their own cover here.

I do own Hunger Games trilogy in Indonesian, those were my first book series I own. I've been thinking to buy the English version but I haven't read HG anymore so...

I have Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, and a bunch of different religious books on my books shelf at home lying in my room. Im trying to get rid of some of them and I think I can keep the ones that I am reading.

I do collect books in my free time and read them thats for sure. I am glad that I have the time every once in a while to be able to read books whenever I could.
