2022 Reading Goal Wrap Up

:openbook::openbook::openbook::openbook:

It's that time of the year - we're getting ready to finish up our reading goals, and set our sights for 2023! Unfortunately we lost the old Reading Goals thread (rip) but WILL be setting up a new goal thread for 2023. In the meantime, however, we wanted to put together a little place for you all to brag about how you did with your reading goals for this current year!

Did you finish your goal? Or did you come up short? Were there any books that absolutely blew your mind, or some that didn't live up to the hype? What are you changing about your goals for next year, or what did you change THIS year to help you be successful?

Let's chat about how the year went!

I missed my goal this year. I was so sad that I did, but I fell behind during tennis season. I ended up with 16/22, but I'm happy about the 16. I read some great books. For this year I'm going to go down a few books and try again to make my goal!

i was able to reach my reading goal in 2022 :D (this is my first time in years)

I've always set a goal for myself (50+ books) which i know i will not reach by the end of a year so i put the number down significantly to 15 books and even though the number was a lot lower it felt great having reached it :woot:

I surpassed my goal but I have made it a habit to read every day even if for 15 minutes. I'm hopeful that I can have another year like that.

I think low goals are just as amazing as big goals. you all are crushing it.

I overshot my # of books goal ("22 in '22") by a lot (38 total). :lol: It was my first full year without having school, so I underestimated how much time I would spend reading. I tried some new formats-- after watching Heartstopper I read the graphic novels, and then realized I liked graphic novels.

One of my favorite books of the year was The Poppy War, which I picked up on a whim while I was on vacation.

I'm upping my # of books goal for next year, but not above what I actually read this year. I don't want to be stressed about it. I do have a lot of sequels on my list for the year, so that should be fun. ^_^

I did not do very well with my goal last year lol. I hit my goal the previous year so I was trying to go above that, but I seriously overestimated how much time school and studying for the VTNE was going to eat up. Once I got to about September I kind of just stopped trying :whaa: I moved very very slowly through a few to end out the year, but now that school is behind me, I plan on making up for it this year!

Made it to my goal of 160 by the very skin of my teeth after my goal fluxuated throughout the year given how far ahead I had gotten at one point.
