| Craft Challenge #6: Death Eaters Technically technical all the time Bookaholic The theme for challenge #6 is DEATH EATERS
Have fun with it. Make your craft related to death eaters in general or pick your favorite death eater and pay tribute to them. Here's your guide: - You have to begin it now, it can't be something you made before the challenge was issued.
- It has to be related to the theme in some way, but not necessarily in the most obvious way.
- You can use designs you found online or in books, or you can design something original.
- You have two weeks from the date of the challenge issue to complete the craft.
- Your craft can be any artisan craft medium; knit, crochet, wirework, beads, sculpture (bread dough, sculpey, fimo, porcelain clay, wood, stone, clay, metal art clay, glass, etc), food (cake deco, etc) or any other three dimensional object. Sorry, no graphics or pictures; we have other areas on SS that highlight that kind of art.
- You must post a picture for us in this thread when you're done. Include info about it, what it's made of and such. If you want to share your pattern or include process pictures (how you make it), feel free!
- This challenge is open and supportive of all levels of ability, from the very beginning beginner to the most advanced artist. All are welcome and praised!
- Tell us what you're going to do with your final product; keep it, gift it or donate it.
- First one to post their final project gets to pick the theme of the next challenge!!!
This challenge expires on June 15, 2008. (Though members are welcome to continue posting pics of any of their projects relating to the theme in this thread after the challenge ends as well as the previous themes (snitches, bookmarks, house pride, quidditch, and Weasley).

Well, I was going to wait to post, but I don't want to forget. This little silver and green bracelet is made of jade and silver tubes on double stretchy cords. I've actually been looking for a way to create a "Narcissa" themed bracelet, and I really like the way the pretty pretty jade looks with the silver tubing.

As the winner of this round, I'm going to leave it open another week (two?) because I really want to see more submissions!

Would it encourage more people to enter if I offered a prize to one random person to submit? A surprise prize from Kris?

I want prizes from Kris! hehe
Sorry these are so late. I couldn't choose between ideas so I ended up making both. Amigurumi Death Eater!!
(click to see it at DeviantART, click there to see bigger size)
This servant of the evil Lord Voldemort does his muggle-taunting in style, with interchangeable masks for all occasions. He's a petite 6" tall, but don't underestimate his power. He's one of the Dark Lord's favourites (how could he not be, he's so CUTE!)
Acrylic yarn and polyester fibre fill. Death Eater purse!!
(no strap on it yet, but it's coming!) Click the spoiler button to see all views.

I am fulfilling my promise of putting up a Death Eater related project! (Actually, this one is not yet complete, but I would like to show what it will look like. There won't be any yarn hanging off the finished project!) This is going to be a future prize in the Death Eater Fan Club, for our next big contest challenge. I have completed only one side of it, but it is a tote bag.
I made this from a pattern which was posted on the internet, then used my color choices. It is basically just stockinette stitch all the way up to the top 10 rows, which are knit and the handle is formed right off the very top row and grafted together in the middle. I used a purple stripe at the bottom, lime body, another purple stripe then a soft pink eyelash yarn for the very top and strap. The Death Eater picture is just sewn on, as it was the only way I could make it look halfway decent.
I will post another photo of this project once it is complete, but this is just to give you all a look see for what is in store, and hopefully get participation to try and win the prize later down the line!

Well I've never posted in here before mostly because I prefer to stick with drawing, thank you very much. After all, I am incredibly slow at ceramics and I certainly can't knit/crochet/embroider/etc.
But! I was inspired by this theme today while baking sugar cookies. And I took a stab at re-creating the Dark Mark.
I was really going for look of the mark right out of the book...but alas, the dough became too soft too quickly...cuz I'm such a turtle....and I slightly forgot which way the snake tongue thingy goes.
So! That concludes my attempt at this nifty little craft competition.

Oh fun! Edible crafts!! Those were awesome. And I just realized that I never posted the beads I made for this project. I made them months ago but, I still haven't finished sanding them so, here they are before baking:
I was going for the green and black coloring that seemed to be associated with the dark mark (I don't remember where hehe). I also tried scultping a little skull. I sanded down two of my fingernails while sanding these suckers so, I need to work on my sanding technique a little. I'll post again if I ever finish these into something.

Hi! I know this might not be the right place to post this... but here it goes. I did this Snape snowman for the SSFC contest that's running right now. I thought I could post it here since it is a craft that I made with my own two feet hands! |
