Jamie walked into the classroom rather excited about Arithmacy this year!

Astoria walked into Arithmancy with a blank look on her face. She looked around the room and took a seat. She got out some supplies for notes and waited for class to begin.

Martha walks into the classroom and sees the professor sitting at the front of the room writing notes. Not wanting to interrupt her, she walks quietly to the front of the room and takes a seat. Eager for class to start, she takes out parchment, ink and a quill.

Mithos walked in and made his way to the front of the classroom. He bowed to the Professor and took a seat. He took out all he needed for the class.

Meghan walked in the classroom and spotted Mithos. She went and sat by him and took out the materials needed for the class.

The shy ravenclaw girl arrived at the Arithmancy classroom, and sat onto a nearby seat. Though however confident and helpful she once was in the previous terms, but since last term, she looked withdrawn. However, there has been some improvement; month by month, she has been gaining back to her usual self.

The ravenclaw girl, named Diana, took out a quill and parchment to ready herself for some note-taking.

Ashlie strode into the class and took a seat with Meghan and Mithos. She gave them a greeting nod and began to pull out scrolls of parchment, her beloved scarlett feathered quill, and her puprple ink.

Nadia walked inside the classroom and took a seat. She was dizzed enough not to mind where or which. Placing her things, her bag, at the foot of the desk, Nadia took her Arithmancy book only and started doing some light reading while she waited for class to start. She didn't feel like chatting at all. But on the other hand, it was nice to know that even though O'Hara was not Bree she still seemed more razonable in attitude than other professors...

To put it lightly, the woman was quite egocentric and many other things but Nadia had yet to find a professor she was comfortable with at the time being, and Nadia would quite surprised to find out that one might be Professor O'Hara. At least it felt more like own territory...

"Ok, well I think we can begin class now" she said setting down her quill and standing up.

"Welcome to the wonderful world of Arithmancy..." she eyed the students and continued "So lets start off with the basics, what exactly is arithmancy?"

kass put up her hand

"arthimancy is the study of nubers. they often tell the heart number, life number and.." kass was trying to think "i forgot. anyway though many people do not know it arithmancy is also a form on divination"

Martha raises her hand and answers, "Arithmancy is a Chaldean and Greek method of divination by numbers. The Chaldeans divided their alphabet into three sections of seven letters and linked these to the seven planets. The Greeks would analyze the names of opponents and predict the outcome of a contest. Arithmancy is a precursor to numerology."

Meghan raised her hand. "Arithmancy is a type of divination which includes numbers."

Nadia raised her hand, "Arithmancy or Numerology, is a branch of magic associated with Divination. Currently the practice of numerology in the occult often involves attempts to discover secret meanings of occurrences and to forecast the future. Also involves finding out about personality traits that you possess in the present and that you were born with wince the moment of your birth and from the time you were put a name.

"The basics of Arithmancy is changing your name into letter from 1 to 9, sum and get to single-digit numbers that have meanings since ancient times. Also includes your year of bith, day of birth dan month of birth on those sums or substractions."

Llewellyn raised his hand from the back of the room, "Arithmancy is the study of numbers and their magical relationship with the individual and the world as a whole." He said, rather matter-of-factly.

"Of course, I forgot the most important part," Nadia said shaking her head and raising her hand again, "The practice is based upon statement of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, "The world is built upon the power of numbers." The concept that the entire universe is composed of mathematical patterns, and all things can be expressed in numbers which correspond to universal vibrations. And so, all things, including names, words, birth dates and birthplaces, are able to be reduced to numbers in order to determine personalities, destinies and fortunes of individuals."

"Very good Kass, 2 points to Ravenclaw" she said smiling and nodded to the others as they answered. "It's good to know what your studying and I am glad to see most of you know what arithmancy is..."

"So let's expand a bit, does anyone know some different branches of arithmancy, for example heart and social number... what are some others? Please do not explain them just state them. You should be writing all of this down as well."

Llewellyn looked in his book, and raised his hand, "Umm...Your destiny number, professor?"

Martha thinks a minute and raises her hand, "I believe another branch is the character number."

Diana raised her hand, as she skimmed quickly through her text. "Some of the divisions of Arithmancy are: Iching, Tasseomancy, Dowsing, Aura Information, Colours of the Aura, Ouija Board, Graphology, Ornithomancy, and ahh....that's all I can think off, professor. Is it right?"

Nadia raised her hand, "Lifepath Number, Pinnacles, Challenges, Maturity number, CityofRecidence(?) number and the Personal Year, Month and Day of birth."

Heart, Social, and Character Numbers, those are the basic numbers, and life path and destiny numbers.

"The essences," Drusilla stated.

Lee had taken a seat up at the back, surprisingly this was around the first time he had saw her this term. He didnt really like this ministry because she replaced Professor Bree, who also happened to be his head of house. He put his quill and parchment on the desk and waited for something to right that might be useful.

Sitting in the second row, Cherry looked up from the notes she was taking. She was amazed at how much her classmates seemed to know, while she barely knew anything. So she strained her ears to listen harder.
