The Great Hall is complete empty, the tables even having been pushed up against the side walls. This is the place for the apparition class, open to any older student that is interested in taking the class. This year, the class has been opened to students a bit younger than 6th and 7th year. You are free to make your way into the room and wait for the professors to begin.

OOC: This class is ONLY for the people who signed up in the Older Student threads and whose names appear on the following list. If you are not on the list, you may NOT post in this thread. PERIOD. Your posts will be deleted. PERIOD. If you feel you belong in the class but somehow couldn't find time in the past month or so to post your name in the thread, feel free to PM me. However, only students who have RPed in the school for four terms should even consider this option.

Oh yeah... have fun.

Professor Zoa enter the Great Hall a few minutes before the Apparation lesson was scheduled to start. She was glad to see that the tables had already been taken care of, and everything looked ready for the class to begin. Zoa went to the front of the room where the staff table usually sat, and stood waiting for the students to come so the lesson could begin.

Nadia walked inside the classroom, after a small mishap at the corridors, still being early for class. Now standing over there, 'afraid to say there was no chairs to sit. It all seemed to point out she could have waited outside and be late rather than stand here without a place to be. She was feeling slightly dumb.

But, then again, if she stayed outside it was as good as anything; outside teh Great Hall wasn't all that comfy.

Meghan walked into the Great Hall anxious and excited at the same time. Finally, she will learn this one thing she has been wanting to learn ever since she stepped foot at Hagwarts. Meghan stood towards the front of the Great Hall by where the Ravenclaw table used to be and waited for the lesson to begin.

Professor McAiken entered the Great Hall. He walked to the front of the room where Professor Zoa was standing.

"Hello Zoa," He said in greeting, "We should have an excellent turn out for this. I believe the Headmistress has ok'd a few more students than usual because I know last year's sixth year on recieved the only theory for the task not practice. The Ministry never provide an instructor for it."

Kate nodded as Professor McAiken addressed her. "McAiken. Yes, I think we'll have a good turn out. I'm just glad the Ministry okayed us teaching this class. I'm not sure how the students would react to more Ministry people at this time" Kate said with a slight smile.

:: Ganymede entered the classroom nervously. She ran a hand through her hair and scratched her right ear a little. She smoothed her robes, wanting to look as confident as possible. Her stomach was twisting with anticipation as she stood there. She spotted her friend Nadia and quickly scurried over.

"Hello. We'll do fine, right?" She asked Nadia, her eye's going a bit light with fear. ::

"Yes, it's best we do it ourselves, I think. You and I are more than qualified and they have to go to the ministry for the test later so all should be well." McAiken stated. "I left the hoops down in storage. I can summons them when we need them."

Nadia was standing, soldier like, feeling some mounting expectations acting on her muscles so she could barely move. "I just hope not to splinch, have no trust for my deliberation. Though my first try went ok," she added, thinking it sounded more hopeful.

Kate nodded again. "We shouldn't need them for a bit. I think it's better to start off just talking to them about it. Don't want their minds to stray by concentrating too hard on the hoop before it's time." Kate looked around at the gathering students. "I suppose we should give them a couple more minutes, just in case someone is late."

"Yes, a few more minutes," McAiken said in agreement. "I do hope the students concentrate otherwise we're in for a long session. But I truly doubt anyone masters it today. It is only their first session."

:: Ganymede's face paled and her hair slowly streaked a sick yellow. "Splinched.. I could be splinched." She mumbled as she wavered a bit on her feet. She walked over to Professor McAiken and asked, "Does splinching hurt?" She looked at him with lilac eyes, her nervousness taking over her usual control. She struggled to return her hair to normal, instead she pulled out a familiar slytherin ball cap and shoved it on as she waited to hear if splinching hurt at all. ::

Kate looked around and realized that most of the students who had signed up were present. She decided to get things underway. "Everyone! Let's get this lesson started so we don't hold up anyone's dinner plans. As you know, if you attend class, I am Professor Zoa and this is Professor McAiken. We are here to teach you the difficult but necessary skill of apparation. Usually, a Ministry official would be present to teach you, but we have recieved special permission to teach you ourselves. Professor McAiken is former Ministry and I have been vouched for by a family member inside the Ministry, so we have been deemed qualified. Usually, we cannot apparate in or around the castle, but the Headmistress has lifted that particular charm so we can practice in here. Now, if you'd all move so there is at least five feet of space around you, we can get started."

Hebe stood near her sister and gulped at the mention of splinching. She was very nervous and waited for further instruction.

"We have spoken often in class this difficult. You will need to remember Destination, Determination and Deliberation to success. First you concentrate on where you want to go, then you think about doing it, and finally you do it." McAiken instructed. "This is wandless and voiceless magic. You will need your whole being focused on the task."

Hebe went over to Ganymede and tugged on her hand. Hebe face was very pale from anxiety. "Ganymede, lets try not to think about splinching and get this over with." Hebe said now holding onto her sisters hand. She began pulling Ganymede toward the apparation area.

:: Ganymede sighed a bit shakily, she didn't think Professor McAiken would ignore her. She grabbed her sisters arm also and followed her over to a empty space in the room. "C'mon. If I splinch, make sure they help me." She said as she planted her feet on the ground and listened to the Professors as best as she could. ::

Roma was half asleep when she had walked into the Great Hall. But as Proffessor McAiken had instructed, she knew she was supposed to be fully focused for these lessons. She tried to shake herself a bit more awake and it somewhat worked. Knowing she would have to try extra hard to get her concentration back, she awaited further instruction.

Then suddenly hoops appeared in front of each student. "You may begin," McAiken instructed.

Hebe was repeating over and over in her head, "Destination, Determination and Deliberation". She nodded at her sister, and went back to her mantra.

"You will not success on your first attempts, you spin and fall, but keep trying," McAiken explained to them. He and the others were present so nothing would happen.

Roma took a deep breathe. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. Right. She looked at her hoop for a few seconds, thinking about what she needed to do. I need to get into that hoop. Destination. I can so do this. Determination. Okay. Here goes nothing. Deliberation. She closed her eyes and concentrated as hard as she could. Just like McAiken had told them, she spun a bit and then fell down...hard. "Ow," she said to herself, getting up rubbing the side she fell on. This is going to be harder than I thought. She continued to keep trying this same technique.

:: Ganymede chanted also to herself. The chanting calmed her and her hair returned to the normal spiky purple. She closed her eyes and invisioned the destination of the other hoop. With a quick breath, she made a slight turn.

"Ow!" She found herself on the ground, where she had been before. "I just fell. I thought I actually did it." She mumbled as she got up. She watched the others for a moment before once again concentrating.
My body is going to go over to that hoop. I need to go over to that other hoop. When I turn I will be in that hoop!

She gave a small turn again....

and fell over once more. "I must be doing something wrong." She said as she looked down at the stone floor. It was cold and rather dusty. She got up and wiped her hands on her sleeve. ::
