Amyyyyyy The Whomping Willow was possibly the strangest thing at Higwarts, and that was saying something. The questions that flew through Ignacio's mind every time he saw it were endless - who found it? Where? Were there others around the world? Of course, as soon as he left, so too did the questions. Which meant he'd never looked up the answers and probably never would. Oh, well. That was another day's problem. Today's problem was his frisbee: the disk he'd so carelessly thrown was less than a metre from the Willow's trunk, and it was therefore in a very precarious position. Ignacio stared, trying to decide if he could risk getting it. Because of course, he couldn't summon it. He'd left his wand in his dorm. |

That's when he spotted Ig. Everything was okay between them, right? Even if things weren't okay between he and Lumi, that didn't affect either boy.... right? Right. Blake was going to go with that. "Don't get too close, mate." They were still friends, right? He could say that? |
Quote:
They were definitely still friends. Something had gone down between Blake and Lumi, although what exactly Ignacio was still unsure about. Lumi had sort of explained it, but Ig had been distracted by thoughts of kissing and hadn't exactly followed it entirely. But Blake and Lumi were a Thing™ and now they weren't. Or something like that. Either way, Lumi hadn't said Blake had done anything wrong, and even if she had that had nothing to do with him. So friends they remained. "Do you have your wand?" he asked, turning back to the other boy. |
Quote:
"Always." the Gryffindor said with a shrug. He'd been caught this summer in a cave without one and definitely learned his lesson. Always. Carry. Your. Wand. "What's up? Got an ouchie you need Blakey to fix for you?" |
Adam had never really hung out near the Whomping Willow, which was a shame because it was such a COOL looking tree! It was the perfect subject for him to work on his drawing skills. All the lines and twists and details...it was the perfect place to work on his sketching. If he was going to do this whole creatures illustration thing, like for REAL, he had to keep practicing. Every. Single. Day! Armed with his sketchpad, he stretched out and used his bag as a bit of a prop as he leaned back on it and began his work. |
Quote:
Decidedly wanting to get a better idea of what he was doing, the pink haired teen immediately went into her proper stealth mode to creep up behind an unsuspecting Adam. She dared not make a sound as she eased her way towards him, waiting until she was peering over his shoulder to see what it was he drawing as well as admire it for a few moments before saying, "Wow! That's looking good so far!" |
Quote:
Laughing a little, he shook his head and pointed at the frisbee lying a little too close to the branches for comfort. "No, but I'll bear you in mind next time I do," he joked. "Reckon you can summon the frisbee, for me?" |
Quote:
Completely startled by her sudden appearance, Adam let out a little yelp and his drawing pad and utensils FLEW in the air. Well, not TOO much flying - only a little, but it still startled him! Once he regained his composure and realized it was Christanna, he chuckled and immediately began to blush. "You scared me!" he said with a laugh. Gathering his drawing off the ground and dusting it off, he smiled at her. "You really think so? Thanks...I'm just practicing," he added sheepishly before erasing a little mark he'd made when he'd dramatically thrown his things in the air. Oops. "What brings you down here??" |
Quote:
Her smile never faltering as she'd made him smile after complimenting his drawing. "Well, I think it's looking pretty brilliant so far Adam.." Nudging him a bit with her shoulder before he'd moved to erase the mark he accidentally made after she scared him. Her attention was soon back on him when he'd asked her a question. "Anything, as long as it wasn't involving being cooped up in the castle anymore!" Aggressively pointing to the castle behind them. |
Quote:
"Sure can." he said stopping down and summoning the frisbee over. He figured being lower to the ground was less likely to damage the tree or the frisbee. "Howd you get it stuck in there anyway?" |
Quote:
"Thanks! I want to be a creatures illustrator. Someone who draws the pictures for textbooks and diagrams and stuff...I dunno if that's even a thing though," he said with a small shrug as he set his stuff aside and decided to lounge out on the grass. "It IS too nice to be cooped up inside today! I always miss the warm weather whenever winter comes around," he said with a small frown, wrinkling his nose a bit in distaste. Winter was just...blegh. And he would know - he WAS Scottish after all. |
Quote:
Her eyes widening impressed, "OH WOW, a creatures illustrator?! That sounds so cool Adam! I'll bet you'd get to travel all around the world and see ALL of the creatures out there!" Come to think of it, she was actually pretty jealous of that for him, but completely supportive of course! Following his movements as she also chose to lounge in the grass staring up at the sky above them. "Mhm, my feelings exactly! That's never fun for anyone!" Turning her head to look at him with her ever too familiar smile, "The warm weather is WAY better than freezing dismal winter weather! Personally, I find summer to be the BEST season!" Studying his face before lifting her arm to poke him in his cheek lightly when he'd allowed a frown to come across that cute face of his! "No frowning here Lucky Boy!" |
Quote:
Okay, he absolutely would have, just to see the trees reaction, but if that was the plan there would have been forethought and he definitely wouldn't have forgotten his wand. He'd also probably have brought a notebook to record exactly what happened. "Was about to throw it, got distracted, wind picked up..." Ignacio admitted with a shrug. Plenty of distractions around the Hogwarts Grounds. |
Quote:
He just needed to focus on Madrid. He caught the frisbee as it made its journey the rest of the way over. He then offered it to his friend. "I believe this is yours." |
Quote:
"There are a few," he countered with a grin, deciding that Blake wasn't the type to admit whom he was distracted by (if he ever was) and therefore Ig would endeavour to have that aloofness, that coolness. Keep 'em guessing, and all of that. Taking the frisbee from Blake, Ignacio dropped into a dramatic and ridiculously low sort of curtsey. "My knight in shining armour, however should I think you?" he joked. |
Quote:
He was fine. Everything was fine. "A few? Do I need to play wingman for you?" He'd never done that before. It could be fun. That curtsy drew a hysterical laugh. "That was cute" he said, completely amused. "I accept cake. Or, you know, whatever. I'm not picky." |
It seemed time to remind the students there was only one big plant on campus. Snowfall was the perfect time for the Willow to assert her dominance. And as millions of unique little snowflakes fell and collected on her branches; she stilled herself to allow them to accumulate. Biding her time until her branches were heavy. Almost. There. Once the weight was adequate, one long branch cocked back before THROWING a heavy load of fresh powder outwards. |

PLOP. A big ol' pile of snow basically squashed her down to the floor. She felt like a Muggle cartoon! "WHA- It's not even snowing... that badly." Dawn managed after poking her head out of the pile. "MERLIN, this is cold!" She added as she started to struggle her way out of there. Were there really people who deliberately did this to themselves? You know, those crazy ones who went on ice baths and all. WHY??? This was HORRIBLE! |
+ Dawn ^_^ SPOILER!!: The Willow! Brrr! Fresh air. Cold but fresh nevertheless. Or so Jude thought. What he was doing out here in this sort of weather… well, don’t ask him for he didn’t know either. A walk seemed like a good idea a few minutes ago. His feet took him towards the Willow, a tree which he was always careful to admire from afar. Tales of the tree’s adventure were enough for him, thanks. He stood there eyeing the tree and that Slytherin, his arms folded tightly against his chest for extra warmth. Sometime shortly, the Hufflepuff noticed that a branch of the Willow was moving; and not just any movement was made. Before Jude could properly react, a great pile of snow was pelted his way. All that he managed was ducking slightly. Unfortunately, a considerable amount of the snow smacked onto his face. The force knocked him backwards and he went down with a heavy smack! Jude laid there dazed, snow resting snuggly and awfully cold on his face. Ow? Did Dawn fare better than him, he dizzily wondered? |
Walking around the grounds was something he'd gotten used to adding to his routine, and even though the winter months were upon them and it was cold outside, Evan found he couldn't quite break the habit of doing so. He was far more hesitant to let his cat join him, having done so once and then having to carry her the rest of the way because cold had not worked for her, but he still went on his own. Which was exactly what he was doing when he started to hear a few noises coming from way of the Whomping Willow. Curious, the Ravenclaw pulled his jacket closer and adjusted his beanie before jogging that direction. Only to spot .. one person poking their head out of a large pile of snow and another laying on their back farther away. Were they having an enchanted snowball fight or something? Ev jogged a bit closer, before realizing he could match a name to both faces - one far more familiar than the other. "Jude? Dawn? What... Are you guys doing?" It didn't even occur to him the tree could have been the perpetrator, making his way towards his best friend and offering him and hand to help him up. "You both alright?" |
Jude and Evan! Did Dawn fare better than Jude? Nope, she did not. Much on the contrary, actually. She was completely covered in frosty coldness, whereas the Hufflepuff only had his face covered. Lucky him. PFFFT. As she continued to struggle her way out of the snow pile, Dawn had to snort at the sight of Evan offering to help Jude but not her. Well, fiiiine, fine, She WAS a strong and independent woman, after all. She could deal with this on her own. Always. With a Did it occur to her she could use a warming spell? Nope. Maybe her brains had been frozen up too, or had been shaken with such force by the falling snow pile that... yeah, you get the drift. |
Ev & Dawn! <3 Jude… could not feel his face. Heck, he didn’t even feel his hands swiping away at the powdery substance. He only knew that his vision was suddenly unobscured and that he was staring up at the skies. At first he thought he must be hearing things but then no. There was Evan sailing into his view like some knight in shining armor on his way to rescue a damsel in distress. Jude wasn’t a damsel but he certainly had been in a small extent of distress. “Evan! Hi! Oh, nothing. Just about to make a few snow angels.” The Hufflepuff reached up his right hand but instead of pulling himself up, tugged on his friend’s hand. “Join me!” Hearing Dawn’s groan, Jude turned his head in her direction to see her freeing herself from the snow pile. “Whoo! Go, Dawn!’’ Even if she did look funny hopping about like that. “You know… we could use the Bluebell Flame to get warm.” Then his face would regain feeling. “The Willow attacked us, Ev.’’ It was best to help Evan make sense of his and Dawn’s little adventure here. “I don’t think we did anything to aggravate it though. Bet it thought it was going to be a good chuckle by chucking snow at unsuspecting students.” Not amusing, Willow! Not amusing. |
The dramatic noises from Dawn were certainly noted as Evan glanced over at the Slytherin, eyebrow slightly raised and hand still outstretched towards the Hufflepuff on the ground. "How did you manage to get so buried, Dawn?" Had she burrowed intentionally, like some type of winter rabbit? That seemed entirely unlikely given how cold she appeared to be now. "Want me to cast a warming charm?" He assumed the fact she had not yet had been due to the fact she wasn't great at them, rather than just not having thought of it. But before he could move to do that if she wanted though, Jude had grabbed the offered hand but was pulling him DOWN rather than using it to get UP. "Oof." The Ravenclaw grunted a bit, before face planting into the snow as well. Snow angels were not something he made often, but he was pretty sure he was doing this wrong as he attempted to roll himself over and more onto his back. At least he could still hear, which meant Jude's explanation was not lost on deaf ears. Just cold ones. "The rillow?" Apparently he'd managed to get a mouth full of snow, which he swallowed to try again. "The willow attacked?" That was peculiar. "Do you think it's capable of just getting... I dunno, bored?" Could Peeves inhabit the Willow somehow? |
There were so many possibilities to get themselves warm. Dawn had quite a few options available. Jude? Jude resorted to slapping his face lightly to restore colour and feeling. He did feel his hands on his cheeks somewhat so he wasn’t completely frozen there. Good to know. Oops. The Hufflepuff looked over at the Ravenclaw in concern. “You okay there? Sorry, didn’t mean to pull you down that hard.” A sign that his muscles and strength were developing due to all that dancing? He watched in some amusement as his friend struggled to un-faceplant himself. “Uh huh. The Rillow.” Jude’s lips twitched upwards. Apparently Evan had gotten some snow in his mouth? Then the fourth year looked towards the Willow, the upper limbs of the tree which he could see clearly from his position on the ground. “I think it can get bored. I mean, imagine being there in one place at all times and the majority of humans avoiding you. I also think it wanted to have a little fun.” At the expense of him and Dawn! “Oh well. As long as I don’t catch a cold after this.” The Pepperup Potion is something he wasn’t a fan of! “What’re you doing out here anyway, Ev?” Staring up at the sky, Jude began waving his arms and legs to make his snow angel. Brr! It sure was cold! |
