 The further you venture into the dungeons, the closer you get to reaching the entrance to where the Slytherins reside. For many years, however, not a single soul who wasn't a member of the green and silver house has gained entrance into their sanctuary. This primarily is in part due to the maze of corridors that are designed to confuse and disjoint you. This is not the most ideal place to get lost, so tread with caution.
Regardless of the endless corridors that make up this part of the dungeons, any member of Salazar Slytherin's house would be able to navigate the area with ease. Getting to the common room is just as easy as well, even with all of the stone walls looking identical. Once you've reached the thirteenth wall, simply whisper the correct password (don't forget that it changes every fortnight!) to make a brief passage appear and reveal your green-tinged home. If you forget, you can count on being stranded in the damp and humid corridor until someone lets you in.

Is it just you, or has the Slytherin Common Room entrance seemed a little sluggish recently, perhaps taking a few seconds longer than usual to respond to the password it's been given?
No. Not just you. All at once, the stone wall has become unquestionably unreliable. At times, it works fine, perfect working order, while at other times it will leave you stuck outside the common room for ten or fifteen minutes at a time before suddenly springing into action. Whatever enchantments maintain the entrance are undeniably on the blink.
There's no forcing this unyielding wall of stone, and it's probably not a good idea to interfere with the wall with amateur spellwork; you'll just have to be patient.

After along day of classes, Bella just wanted to go back to the Slytherin Common Room, leave her backpack in her dorm and lift her feet up for a few minutes before dinner.
Coming up in front of the stone wall she quickly mouthed out the password "Serpensortia!" in case any students that didn't belong to her house wandered by. Unfortunatley for Bella the stone wall didn't show any sign of budging any time soon. She tried saying the password several more times to no avail before she exasperatedly called out to it "Why now? Why won't you let me in? I'm a snake."
Humphing loudly and pointing a finger at it Bella slumped down on the floor. Seating herself cross-legged on the stone floor in front of the stone wall she hoped the stone wall would come around soon or she'd have to bring her backpack to dinner and find a prefect or better her head of house to complain too. If the wall didn't let her in where was she supposed to sleep?

Serena made her way through the maze of corridors while she fixed her ponytail. She didn't need to watch where she was going. The dungeons were easy for her to maneuver through. It's almost as if she had a talent for them. That's how she found her dad's hidden dungeons underneath the family manor.
After Quidditch practice she had intended to soak for a while in warm water, and mule over what potion she wanted to try out next. It was going to be a breezy afternoon. That was until she reached her common room entrance. Bella stood outside.
Ugh. No. Not this again.
"Is it being stubborn again?" Serena asked, pushing against the wall that usually opened up once the password was said. "Open up, you rotten piece of--" She gave it a kick. Not hard enough to hurt her toes, but enough to make a point. She wasn't in the mood to wait out here again. Not when a warm bath was awaiting her.

A miserable, half-hearted waaaaaaaaail preceded Myrtle as she drifted out of the gloom, and out of a nearby wall, in order to happen upon this scene. As soon as she found she had an audience to lament to, she perked up ever so slightly, and just before switching back to 'woe is mEeEEeeEEE' mode, Myrtle realised that the girls outside the Slytherin Common Room were not just waiting, but stuck.
"Oh, isn't it dreadful," she said, sounding a little too far on the cheerful side of gloomy as she hovered as though lying on her front in mid-air, feet kicked up behind her, resting her chin on her hands. Myrtle observed the Slytherins in their predicament. "You might have to sleep out here tonight."

Darius was taking his stroll back from his studies, bag of books over his shoulder when he could hear voices. Not the ones questioning his sanity but well, concerning nonetheless. He recognized those voices, Bella and a younger snake followed by a wailing which did increase his footstep speed down in the dungeons until...
Oh.. Stopping himself as he saw Moaning Myrtle hovering over Bella and Serena... "What's... going on?" He asked them, "Is there a problem in the Common room?" Don't tell him the pipes somehow overflowed allowing Myrtle to swoop on in here.

Should she feel grateful that Myrtle didn't wail on like she usually did with her woe is meeeeeeeeee tune? No, because Bella didn't like how Myrtle always got pleased by other people's predicaments. Waving at her Bella called out "Go away Myrtle! We are good here. We will be let in to our common room soon enough." Inwardly she doubted that though, but she wasn't going to give Myrtle that nugget to use.

Ooooh. A boy. Myrtle didn't answer his question, preoccupied as she was with fluttering her eyelashes and twirling the end of one of her pigtails, but she was about to offer to investigate just for him even though she had it on good authority (her own) that this was not the only common room entrance having problems like this.
But this girl was rude. Why were girls always sO mEaN? Myrtle would have liked to make a sharp and devastating comment in return, but all that happened was that her lower lip trembled and her eyes filled with tears. Another reason to dislike snakes.
"Seeing as you don't need my help!" she cried, swooping around and being sure to fly right through the rude snake. "I'll go inside on my oWN!" With a renewed *SOB* and a waaaAAAAIIIIL she made for the wall. Which she could float through. Because she was dead.

As Myrtle's moaning faded away, a faint voice could be heard coming from inside the Common Room, as well as what sounded like muffled pounding. It was Violet Blackthorne, who was trapped inside the room and had been trying to get out.

Oh no, they were stuck out again. "Oh.. that's a shame. I think we're left to wait out unless someone lets us in from inside." Which was not a fun time. Darius blinked at the ghost, she seemed to have something her in her eye. Do ghosts eyes feel dry? Though it was Myrtle so he would've expected the opposite.... and there it was.
Darius then looked at Bella and Serena for a moment, before turning to Myrtle who was about to float away, "Wait a moment, Myrtle!" He didn't expect her to stay though seeing how rapid she flew off. Sigh. "Now what..." That's when he heard the pounding. Did Moaning Myrtle change her mind and decide to help. "Do you hear that?" Sounded like it came from the other side of the entrance.
"Violet, is that you?" It was hard to tell exactly what she said. Something about getting out. "Can you hear us?" Darius walked up closer to the wall to hear.

Bella was about to stand up and give the password a new attempt when Moaning Myrtle of course in reaction to her wish to go away, started to cry. She hadn't been too mean had she? She was a tad irritated she could admit, and ghosts made her uncomfortable especially Mytle so she had shooed her away. Bella was about say something to Darius when Myrtle gave up a cry and then swooped straight towards and through her body before dissappeared through the stone wall. "Hey, that's----." Unfair...
When the ice cold shower sensation ebated some Bella heard some faint pounding, but couldn't quite place where the sound came from. To Darius she nodded as she stood up and joined him closer to the wall. "I thought you said that someone from the inside has to lock up the door so when can get in?" Confused Bella added "If it's Violet on the other side, and she can't get out, and we can't get in then we need to get a professors help right?"
