Spare Office https://i.postimg.cc/0QnKY4ct/spare-office-banner10.jpg If you happen to try one of the doors near the end of the sixth-floor corridor, you might just find yourself in a handsome (if not dusty and aged) office of a surprisingly large size. The faint smell of crystallized pineapple seems to linger in the air of the room, which contains numerous side doors and nooks and crannies. Unfortunately for you, all of them remain firmly locked so there is no telling what lies behind them. |
for Saturn The spare office was supposedly a good place to practice spellwork. It also happened to have a mirror in it, immediately making it a terrible place to do anything. But Ash had solutions. A sheet was now covering the mirror(relax, it was just painter's tape on the wall, and she'd carefully take it down later). Problem solved. She quietly shut the door to the hallway, so that nobody would think the room was free. Other people made her nervous when she was practicing near them. For reasons. Actually, other people made her nervous in general. They seemed to like her more now. That didn't change it. Ash closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her back towards the door. Complicated spellwork required concentration. |
For Jude/Ali! Dahlia was in an amazing mood. How could she not be? It was the start of a new school year, new faces and new friends. Sure that meant some new professors too and she was totally bummed about that but having had it happen three times already, she was getting used to it. Plus she was back with all of her friends, got to see most of her family each day and Tadhg of course. This after though was being spent with Jude. And she was looking forward to it since the moment they had mentioned make-up over the summer. Lia had even spent a full day looking for the perfect place where no one would come in and bother them. That's how she ended up standing in the doorway of the spare office with her wand in her hand, nose wrinkled up at all the dust. "Well this won't do.." She was going to have to do a bit of cleaning while she waited for her cousin to arrive. Fixing her bag over her shoulder that held all the make-up kit inside as well as all of her other things, Lia brushed her hair back off her face. "Lets do this, Sir Frederik.." Not that he would be of any help. Pygmy Puffs typically weren't much help but they made wonderful companions. So good thing for cleaning charms! |

Ah. Ash was not sure if she wanted to talk or not. But since Saturn was so polite and all... "No, I was going to do some spellwork. I haven't started yet." Saturn was obviously looking for her. They probably would have had better luck with a physical description of Ash, but- they had found her. Here she was. "What's up?" |
SPOILER!!: Hellurrr, cousin! <3 Though he was quite proudly into doing makeup for others, Jude did not actually wear the things himself. Unless, of course, it was necessary for his dances. It had only been a few years since he discovered his natural talent for makeup artistry. Since then, the Puff had been so content and happy to help his cousins, sisters, mother, fellow dancers and Reagan’s co-actor buddies with it. Today, Dahlia needed that assist. He wasn’t sure what was the occasion she wanted to get all dressed up for but he wasn’t about to refuse. “What is little Sir Frederik helping with, Lia?” Jude chirped happily, having arrived at that moment. Oh darn! This place was dusty. Almost immediately a hearty sneeze escaped him. “ACHOO!” Ah geez. The last thing he needed was a sneeze attack. “Hope I didn’t startle you two.” Jude rubbed his nose vigorously. “And do you need me to help?”... even if Lia seemed to have things under control. |
Cousin! <3 Quote:
Oh, my! "Bless you! I have some tissues in my bag if you need one." Lia shook her head in response. "No, I think we're good here. You can go ahead and start setting things up if you want to?" That's why they had chosen this room, it was large and quiet with lots of space and tables to spread all of the make-up out on. There really wasn't any reason for her to get be asking Jude to help her today other than the simple fact that it was fun and he was amazing at it. |

To be honest. They did have a reason to search out Ash, but it didn't feel right going right into it. There was no rush, they'd hop into it when the timing was right. |
SPOILER!!: hi Saturn Ash stopped anyway. Like she said- well, thought to herself -she didn't like practicing near other people. She flopped on the carpet and... looked at the carpet. The carpet was cool. "I remember where everything is. And then I speedwalk if I need to go somewhere, and I run if I need to get away." It was... hard. There were too many stairs. She rolled onto her back. "This place needs elevators." Hey, at least all the running kept her in shape. Ash was bored of lying on the floor. What was she doing in here again? Oh right, she was practicing. Wait no she wasn't. Why wasn't she- oh it was because- why were they- oh right- "Do you require something? Or were you just here to chill?" Because right now, they were sitting and looking at her. Which was... not a usual reason to find her. They had come to find her, yes? "You walked all the way from the great hall?" There were... there were closer places to train. And Saturn had only just transferred in- she doubted they knew that this was a nice place to practice. And they said- so they were looking for her- hmmm. Ash sat next to Saturn and looked at them out the side of her eye. Fancy word: peripheral vision. "You came to find me. You walked up stairs and everything." Her voice betrayed her: she was maybe a little flattered. Nervous about Why they found her, but flattered nonetheless. Ash smiled. A little bit. |
SPOILER!!: Liiii <3 Jude had no intention of quitting with the fun he and Lia were having. “Of course he is! After all, Sir Frederik has the best nose here.” Or so he'd like to think. Did pygmy puffs have sensitive noses? Jude could not remember right then and decided that he’d have to consult his CoMC textbook later on. “May I have one, please?” You know, just in case his nose decided to start leaking. In the meanwhile, the Hufflepuff would just stand here for a bit, bracing himself should more sneezes come. Fortunately none did. “Did you bring these furniture here?’’ he asked curiously. As far as the fourth year could remember, this room had been empty. But he didn’t hesitate in setting out all of Lia’s makeup on a table. Good golly! She certainly had a lot. “Any particular look you’re going for, Li? Got a date?” |
for Mansa and Val Karleigh had been feeling down lately - hurt by some words that perhaps did not have that intention, but had that result anyway. It was playing on some insecurities that were already simmering below the surface and now they had just about overflowed. Perhaps if she wore more makeup like Val or dyed her hair pink like Christy or wore her uniform skirts shorter like that one seventh year girl all the boys seemed to like... Intrusive thoughts filled her head. But what she really wanted was to be alone. To dance, not to overthink and be consumed by all the reasons she was not good enough. Ballet almost always made her feel better. She could get lost in the dance and only think about perfecting her turns and keeping her toes pointed correctly. And feel like a graceful swan. It was just too bad that the Room of Requirement was already occupied. It was her favorite place to dance. Though the Great Hall was sometimes good as well, especially when no one was there, Karleigh did not want to walk all the way down there when she was feeling this way. Instead, she looked for an empty room. Just a floor down and dressed in workout clothes, her hair tied up in a messy bun, Karleigh carried her pointe shoes as she walked down the corridor with her pygmy puff on her shoulder. She stopped in front of a door near one end of the corridor and poked her head inside. This place looked like it hadn't been used in years, and so hopefully. It wasn't very large, but it would do. Taking a seat on the floor near the fireplace, she changed her shoes into her pointe shoes and took out her pocket-sized music player to find something suitable. |
Quote:
"Karleigh!" She greeted her friend warmly with a bright smile. "Are you going to dance?? I can come back later, if you'd like!" Because it seemed like Karleigh was getting ready to ballet and she didn't want to disturb. |
Quote:
"Sure!" Reaching into her bag she pulled out a little pack of tissues and passed them to him. "Here you go." Allergies were the worst! "Nah-uh, all this stuff was already in here when we got here." The only thing she had done so far was clean up the dust. Why Jude's question made Lia turn the brightest shade of pink ever, she had no idea but it had. "A date?! No? Why?!" She already had a boyfriend who was her very best friend Tadhg since they were kids. "You can do whatever you like, I just thought it would be fun is all." Plus she liked getting all dressed up sometimes. |
Quote:
The fifth year was just lacing up her ballet shoes when she heard the door open and she looked up to see one of her dormmates there. "Oh hi, Val," she returned the greeting as well as the smile. "Well yes, actually, I did come in here to practice. But you don't have to leave!" She could still dance. She had danced for an audience plenty of times. Or not dance. But she wouldn't suggest she leave. "Did you come in here for something specific?" She was curious. |
SPOILER!!: Lia<3 Jude loved how he and Lia could be so silly. It was one of the reasons they always got along. Though… come to think of it, he got along with EVERYONE - family, friends, professors, acquaintances… Okay, maybe except Atlas Flamsteed. Jude didn’t think the Gryffindor liked him but this realisation didn’t bother Jude. “Is the good Sir Frederik here to have his makeup done as well?” the boy asked, swiping at his nose even if there was no phlegm. He’d just hang on to the tissue should his nose really need it. It was stuck in the back pocket of his pants. In all honesty, the fourth year didn’t see a reason why Lia should be blushing. Everyone knew she and Tadhg were an item. He peered over at her, pausing in setting out some rouge. “I’ll just chalk it up to you being a good cousin and allowing me to practice.” Chuckling, he added, “You can take a seat whenever you’re ready.” |
Quote:
"Have you been dancing for a long time??" |
Quote:
Leans her head close to Sir Frederik on her shoulder, falling silent for a minute while she 'listens' to him. "He says only if you're the one doing his makeup," she giggled. It was something that couldn't be helped. Tadhg had been her bestie since forever and they were dating for the longest time now and she still got butterflies in her belly when he was mentioned. "I'm an epic cousin, thank you very much." The teasing tone was still there as she took a seat across from where he was laying everything out on one of the tables. |
SPOILER!!: <3 At times? Really, Lia. Jude would have thought that you guys were siblings ALL of the time. But he loved you still… even if, you know, if you didn’t consider him a brother 100% of the times  “Sir Frederik is all about flattery today, I see.”Jude was teasing but he appreciated the puff’s confidence in him. "Okay, he’s going to be my second client!” Not really though because he wasn’t sure if all the pigments and whatnot which composed makeup would be healthy for the little creature. Jude chuckled. “That you are but shhh. Don’t let any other cousin hear you say that.” Merlin knew that so many of his cousins were at Hogwarts right now. “Okay, Lia. Close your eyes, it’s facemist time.” Because moisturising is always the best way to start. A spritz here and a spritz there… Jude watched as the mist lightly settled on every part of Lia’s face. “Not going to sneeze, are you? Let me know so I can get into a spray-free zone.” This Hufflepuff wanted none of your boogers landing on him, Lia! |
Quote:
"He is! He's always sweet though." It's no wonder everyone loved him as much as they do. Lia giggled. "I know he's going to look even more amazing once you finish with him... years younger for sure!." She knew her cousin wouldn't use real make-up on Sir Frederik but it was fun to pretend. A grin settled across her lips at his words. "Oh, the all know it's true!" No they didn't but she would happily tease them about it should it come down it. Bright sparkly blue eyes closed lightly right as gentle spritzing began. So far nothing made her want to sneeze BUT it did make her want to giggle. "Nope, we're all good!" |
SPOILER!!: Cousin dearest <3 Jude highly agreed with Lia: Sir Frederik was indeed sweet. And gentle. Perhaps the creature he would have wanted if he hadn’t Ned, it might have been a pygmy puff. They were so flouffy and soft and cuddly. As it was, Jude was completely happy to have Ned as his familiar. His sweet little baby with its chewed off ear. He chuckled again. “I am sure Sir Frederik would appreciate that,’’ came his remark along with an inclination of his head in the puff’s direction. And now, the fourth year was going to continue his absolute best work for an absolutely wonderful cousin. “Excellent!’’ That was the first step down already. “So, is fourth year treating you okay? And the new professors?’’ Jude liked to make conversation while he worked and such was his intention as he searched for the primer. There it was! And it smelt like watermelon, the Hufflepuff was reminded once the cover was removed and the aroma began drifting into the air. Primer, he knew, helped with keeping the makeup even on the face. Meaning that the makeup wouldn’t get rubbed off if the skin became oily. Gently so as to not startle Lia with any of his movements, he began to apply the primer. |
Quote:
Lia carefully removed Sir Frederik from her shoulder and set him down on her lap so she could cuddle him gently now. "It's been going really well I think, nothing to complain about really. I miss our other professors but I like these ones too." It was always the initial change that was the hardest. When Jude reached for the primer, Lia once more went quite so that he could get back to work, not wanting to talk again until he finished this part at least. |
Miss V Serena was in a mood. Not too long ago she received an owl from her parents, detailing the reasons why they weren't setting her free from her punishment. She was grounded for Christmas and the summer. Serena almost regretted 'borrowing' her neighbor's hippogriff. Almost. In the letter her dad also reminded her to keep up with her training. She might be grounded during her summer break, but training was still happening. Something Serena was happy about. Quidditch on the other hand, was still up in the air. She had a feeling her mum would eventually give in because Quidditch was like breathing to her; to all Baltazars. THAT's what got her in the worst of moods and she felt like unleashing some energy. She stuffed some apples in her bag and headed up to a spare room she's seen empty. After peeking in to make sure it was empty, she slipped inside and charmed some apples to stick to the wall. Target practice. Her favorite. Standing on the opposite wall of the apples, Serena drew her wand out, took her dueling stance and cast, "Bombarda!" BOOM went the apple. |
Quote:
Today, though, Serena had mentioned earlier she might go blow stuff up later. V hadn’t taken that literally until she went to FIND said roommate and couldn’t find her, so here she was, walking around the castle like a buffoon, listening for the sounds of a well-placed bombarda. And look! There it was. V heard Serena’s voice in one of the empty rooms, it resembled an office more than a classroom, and slipped inside. “Thought I’d find you somewhere…blowing up stuff,” she said, eyeing the remnants of that poor apple. “Can I join you?” She asked before whipping out her wand herself. “I’ve been actually able to do allllll the new spells this year. I guess you could say I am more confident,” she gave Serena a little smile. “You okay?” You know, since the ….exploding apples and all. |
Quote:
Oops. V was a clever person, though, and found Serena in no time. The redhead had her wand pointed at another apple when she heard her friend's voice. "Bombarda!" she cast before turning to V; the apple blown to bits. "You know me," she said with a small, forced smile. She was slightly surprised that V wanted to join her. She wasn't the exploding type of person Serena knew. Welcoming the company, she stepped a little to the side. "Sure. Take your pick." There were more than enough apples glued to the walls around the room. "You've improved in casting, that's for sure." Serena remembered teary-eyed V. Insecure and sassy. She more confident now AND STILL sassy. Serena shrugged at the question, as if she being in a mood wasn't important. "I got a letter from my parents. I'm grounded for Christmas AND summer." UGH. She hated this. |
Quote:
And Victoria was definitely still a little insecure, but she was improving. Slowly but surely. She aimed her wand at one of the nearest apples stuck to a wall. “BOMBARDA!’ She cried, her spell very nearly missing the apple - thankfully, it didn’t, and the apple burst apart. “Um. What if I miss the apple and hit the wall? An apple is kind of a small target,” she said nervously as she twirled her wand a little. It clattered to the ground when she gave it an extra look OOOOMFY twirl and she didn’t properly catch it and shot a stream of STEAMING hot water toward the ceiling. V could tell it was hot water because of the sizzle sound. “Oops….” So there was improvement, and V was going to focus solely on that. Not her shortcomings. RIGHT. RIGHT. “Why are you ALREADY grounded? Does that mean you can’t come over? Or that I can’t come visit you? I could sneak in, you know,” she grinned a little. |
