Because the seventh floor is the gateway to Hogwarts' biggest towers, you can expect to access quite a bit of the castle from here. The most notable areas that this corridor provides passage to are the Owlery, Astronomy Tower, Divination Tower, the common rooms for both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and, if you know where to look, the Room of Requirement. Sweeping views of the Quad below are available thanks to a series of large windows.
After stepping onto the seventh-floor corridor, a statue of Lachlan the Lanky immediately greets you. There really isn't anything overly special about him, but one can hide behind him and not be easily found if you're playing hide-and-go-seek or are just wanting to completely avoid someone. A renowned tapestry and numerous portraits, ranging from a mother and her baby, various wildlife animals, and the chivalrous Sir Cadogan adorn the walls. The latter portrait, should you ever need help getting around, is always eager to assist those who are, allegedly, in distress.
Margaret had a feeling she'd bee hiking up and down the stairs to the seventh floor and beyond as much this term as she had last term, even without needing to meet Blake at the Gryffindor common room. She had lots of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw friends, after all.
And an owl.
And astronomy classes, too, but that was different than taking that many stairs for fun and friendship. Today, for example, she was on her way to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Well, to wait outside the Ravenclaw common room. For Evan, probably, to ask him some questions about his study notes he'd given everyone before last term ended. She'd been so bored during her week at her mother's house that she'd actually studied.
Margaret had a feeling she'd bee hiking up and down the stairs to the seventh floor and beyond as much this term as she had last term, even without needing to meet Blake at the Gryffindor common room. She had lots of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw friends, after all.

The portraits on the seventh floor were weird.
The fifth year claw was just making her way back from snacking and doing some reading in the great hall. She was thinking about some trashy movie she had watch recently and getting a nice giggle from it. But back to the reading..sometimes its nicer there than the library and well there is food. Need to keep up if she wanted her grades to be near the top of the class again. It never really ends until summer starts sadly. It is always a surprise seeing someone from from Hufflepuff on the seventh floor by choice in Amabel's opinion. Even to meet someone up here the effort by itself makes you second guess the decision.
Which is why it was surprising to see Margaret outside the common room.
"What's going on?"
Amabel asked hugging a book to her chest.

Amabel asked hugging a book to her chest.
Given that it had been several decades A LONG TIME, since Leanne had been back inside the castle, one of the first places that the professor decided to check out was the Ravenclaw Common Room. Would she still have enough wits about her to be able to get into the common room? Did professors even need to answer a riddle? These were things she probably ought to have asked Kazmi, but she also didn't want to seem eager or anything. She was just curious if her initials (L.E.H.) would have still been etched into the four-poster bed? Or well, actually the furniture would have been replaced by now? Or maybe just the mattresses? What was Hogwarts policies on replacing furniture, anyway?
One thing that Leanne did not miss was these staircases, but at long last she made it to the corridor. It was really just like riding a bike in remembering where everything was.
Only, why was there a hufflepuff up here? She was well aware that the hufflepuff common room was by the kitchens.
"Is everything okay ladies?" She asked, genuinely concerned. She knew how teenage girls could be

And why was Margaret confused, imagine if Amabel was just walking around by the hufflepuff common room and saw her??? "i was just wondering if....."Yeah she didn't really even have much time to to say anything else much else think more on it before a Professor was here. Was Professor Mancini on the way to the common room also....or did something happen and Amabel needed to avoid the place. this fifth year definitely picked the wrong time to leave the great hall than.
"Um...hi Professor. Did something happen??"
Oh she was also ok. Should be obvious but guess she forgot to say that also.
"I was just going to ask Margaret if she wanted to come in the common room or whatever?"

Call it the protective older sibling in her, but Leanne Mancini had never been very good at minding her own business. It wasn't like these ladies were causing any mischief yet. So why had she even stopped to talk with them? She was on a mission to see the Ravenclaw common room for the first time in decades. The girls had nothing to do with her.
Also, the one in yellow was mildly angsty wasn't she? It'd been awhile since she'd been in a teenager, or even had teens of her own, so clearly she was out of her realm when it came to teenage angst. Also, she really wish students could wear nametags for the first week or two. It would make things a whole lot easier.
"That's an excellent question, why wouldn't it be okay?" she turned it back around, as she addressed the girl in blue. "No, nothing happened. I was just ... making professor rounds." That's what professors did, right? Made rounds to make sure kids stayed out of trouble? Yes? Because she couldn't very well admit to purposefully being right outside the ravenclaw common room.
Oh, so the one in yellow was named Margaret then? "Good idea. The Ravenclaw Common Room is a stunning room. Do you still answer a riddle for entrance?" Why was she still there? She should leave them be. They weren't do anything wrong.

Margaret probably wouldn't even notice if Amabel was hanging around the Hufflepuff common room. Or, if she did, she'd just assume she was hungry or something. It was close to the kitchens, after all. Plus, it seemed like people were down there all the time.
Mildly angsty was...not incorrect. She'd been having a bad day. She attempted a smile for Professor Mancini, then glanced back at Amabel. "No, that's okay, Amabel," she said. "I don't need to go to your common room."
She was curious about the Ravenclaw common room, sure, but didn't curiosity kill cats? She wasn't about to ask why Mancini was doing rounds, either. She'd never noticed professors doing rounds before. Though, she supposed...maybe they'd been doing it and she never noticed.
