There is a sign hanging outside the DADA classroom, under the rules and near the homework board.

"Attention Students! If you are interested in joining a Defense organization established by Professor Rae, please read the following:

Professor Rae will be meeting during the course of the term with students who would like to begin their Defense training. Subject matter will include a variety of spells and skill sets that are included in actual Auror training.

If you are interested, please PM the professor and she will add your name to the member list. Points will be given to those members who manage to practice and master these spells and skills, and at the end of the term, those who earn enough points will be rewarded with a medal and the title of Auror-in-Training."

Feesha tried pulling her wand out of her pocket on the left (since she was right handed) and she was able to do it pretty quick, although a little too quick that her wand went flying a few times at first, "Sorry!" But the more she practiced the better she got, "Hey I think I'm getting this!" Eventually she was getting really good! Feesha smiled at her progress!

Becca took her wand out of her neat bun and stuck it in her left pocket. She knew that she could be able to pull it out fast. She did it on the train going home last term. She was about to curse a girl but she left. She had done this also several times on her sisters. She giggled a little bit and grabbed her chest. She was hoping no one saw that she grabbed her chest. She pulled her wand out of her left pocket quickly and smiled. She wanted to be able to pull it out of her hair, but she just stayed with her left pocket for now.

"Yeah. I can live through it. I have been. It has been getting a little better. It is no big deal," Becca whispered back. Becca smiled at Feesha.

Feesha smiled back at Becca "ok then, I hope that you recover fully soon though" Then she continued with prcticing her quick removing wand task.

She was getting really good, her wand no longer went flying and she continued to get quicker with each try

*Lina found a spell that created a small loop inside the right sleeve of her robe. When she puts her wand in there it stays put, but with the flick of her hand, it comes out immediately. She practices the flick a couple of times, and misses catching the wand the first times. But after some tries, she manages to catch the wand and it appears as though the wand came out of nowhere. She smiles brightly* I think this is gonna work!

Jill looked up, and smiled at Jerri. She noticed Becca clutch her chest.
"Hey Becca, you ok?" Jill walked over, wondering if the Gryffindor remembered her. "Wanna have a quickdraw contest? To see how our quickdraws are coming out," she smiled playfully. "Would you like to referee?" Jill turned to the other Gryffindor standing next to Becca. "Hi, I'm Jill," she waved in introduction.

I've heard of this special belts for wizards; they can carry a wizard's potions, magic scrolls and even a magic wand! They are especially prepared and the wand cannot backfire because it's folded. The potions are securely tied to the belt and so are the scrolls: nothing can fall because there's sticking spells and such all over it.

Serena raises her hand..."Professor, my mom and dad gave me one of those wizard belts when I got accepted to Hogwarts! It works really well ... I had fun practicing with mine before term started ... see!!!" She holds up her belt for the class to get a good look. :sorcerer:

That is a good idea - to carry two wands. Better to be prepared.

Um... professor, how many points do we need to have to become an auror?

I have a specially designed robe that allows me to pick up my wand and use it in a time of one second. I just pull it out of of my left sleeve's specially designed wand case which is very quick to pull out and is very safe to use as well. (They can be found somewhere in Diagon Alley).

" See, we aren't becoming aurors, just winning an aurors-in-training tittle and medal for our effort - medals we will win if we get sufficient points. Go to the rules board to read more carefully if you have any doubts. But, again, the professors cannot make us Aurors, only make us be preppared to be one. The ministry is the one who has to give you the job... once you are grown up and have all your OLWs and NEWTs and every thing asked to be one " Nadia said quite humored.

"So, while waiting to have one of those belts I mentioned... I think I could use with robes-pockets... the only thing about it is that it would be kinda uncomformable, and not quite as fast... maybe we should create our own wand-carrying belts, with transfiguration, immitating one of those belts muggle police use - you know; the one which goes wrapped on the torso... somewhat they made it so that the muggle gun wouldn't fire up and hurt them, so we should use that same mechanism. Does some body know how they do it? I know there's like this gun-cover... maybe a magical wand-cover that stops spells for firing up, but that's too complicate a spll for is to know, so... " *melodramatically* "Have no choice: have to go back to the buying of this belt in Diagon Alley!!"

=P *overhears MadEye2004* "Did you really? Care to ease me the information? I might buy it as well. By the sound of it it's quite similar to the belt I was talking about just earlier so maybe they are bought in the same place (ooc: actually the magical scroll/wand/potion-carring belt is an invention from D&D, not mine )

Looks at her wand confidently and ponders on where to place it. Previously she kept it in her pocket but she decides to try something different this time. Dahlia holds her wand up high and pushes it through her hair..."perhaps with some practice..." she thinks and begins drawing her wand out and placing it back in several times. After a few more times, Dahlia ends up leaving it tightly wraped in a bun.

"My sister, she graduated years ago, taught me something over the summer and it's kinda cool." Eric plucked a piece of hair, concentrated and snapped his fingers. The piece of hair soon turned into his wand.

Well, my mother thought I might have this issue to deal with so she performed this little spell to my wand. When I say the word "bend" my wand becomes as flexible as rubber. Then I can put it anywhere rather easily. Sometimes I put it in the belt loops of my jeans. When I snap it, it returns to normal. It's quite handy, but I forgot what spell it was that she used, so I hope it doesn't wear off. :whisle:

Jill sat down.
"An Auror must be ready for anything," she thought. "I should get to quickdrawing in any situation, including sitting," Jill concluded. It was pretty difficult to quickdraw, not to mention uncomfortable, while sitting. Jill sat down, pushing her tricep to angle her wand so sitting would be comfortable. "Now how to quickdraw like this...?" Jill wondered. She smiled. She grabbed the bottom of her wand with the tips of her finger, and curved-shot it out into the open, closing her fingers and palm at the end to hold her wand firmly in place.
"Yay! I did it!" Jill brightened. "What if I'm lying down?" Jill immediately lay down. "Hmmm.." Jill pondered, then lit up. She whacked the bottom of her palm against the bottom of her wand, swinging her legs underneath her with enough momentum to bring her body to its feet. A few things happened: Jill tripped over her feet and landed back on the floor - hard - and her wand clattered uselessly a few feet beside her.
"Well, that didn't work," Jill reached over and grabbed her wand. "Ow, my bum..." she thought. "Let's do that again," Jill concentrated. Her wrist whacked against the butt of her wand as she shifted her weight forward, her feet jumping to the ground as her hand firmly gripped against her right side. Not sooner did Jill stand did her wand hand shoot straight, wand at the ready. Jill smiled.

"Woah, Jill that's cool! - you're getting there," Aschere grinned. Jill was right - it was impossible to get a wand out of your sleeve if you're sitting down.

ooc: believe me - I've ACTUALLY tried!

In every other way, up the sleeve seemed perfect. It was an absolutely inconspicious action - all you had to do was straighten the bend in your arm and let the wand slide out into your fingers behind your back if you wanted to take it out quietly. It could also shoot out in less than a second if you jerked your arm straight... if you practiced, which Aschere did a couple of times. After quite a few slips, she found that it was easier to let the wand shoot through your fingers, but to keep contact with it and tighten the grip at just the right moment.
Really having fun with her wand now, Aschere tried to think of a situation in which she'd need to access her wand quickly. Striding towards an imaginary mountain troll, she swung her arm down in an arc, and in a smooth movement brought it to point the wand between the troll's eyes. Minor problem being that the wand itself had shot across the classroom. Practice, practice...!

Jenna walked a few feet across the room apologizing to several people who had ducked out of the way as her wand sailed across the room.

" Sorry."Jenna said as she picked up her wand then continued to practice after a few more attempts she had managed to hold on to her wand and and was improving with her speed.

Professor Rae finished making her rounds, and claps her hands. "Alright students, that's enough for today. Thank you for your hard work, and I hope you got some good ideas. If you have any questions, you can owl me or come by my office."

ooc: After I lock this door... you can't post again on the ended lessons, which means if you did NOT do this lesson, then you just didn't. Don't worry. There will be another up soon... but I'm not saying when.

Professor Rae opened the door to the classroom, letting a few students inside with her. "I'm glad to see some of you returned!" she said warmly, as she pushed the desks against the far wall with a wave of her wand.

"Now, one of the first keys to being an Auror is that you must always be on the defensive. One of my favorite spells to use is Protego, the shield spell. Last term, my students did learn this spell, but I think we could all benefit from the practice. The incantation is PROTEGO, and it causes a temporary shield to block incoming objects and spells. A stronger spell, such as the Killing Curse, would still pass through it. There are also varying degrees of strength to the shield. A beginner like you all are will probably cause a shield that blocks only, although a more advanced wizard's shield would completely deflect the spell. Sometimes it shoots back at the caster."

"Find someone to work with and cast small, easy spells at to practice your Protego, but do NOT use any dangerous spells. I will be coming around and shooting Expelliarmus at those of you who don't have a partner." She moved off to begin working with students.
