| | |  Fat Lady's Portrait
 If you're wandering around the seventh-floor corridor and you suddenly have the urge to cover your ears, you know you're steadily approaching the Fat Lady's portrait. While it isn't an uncommon fact that the vocal portrait guards the entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room, getting past the Fat Lady without the correct password is no easy feat. Her passion for tip-top security is just as great as her love for good food and drink.
Though the Fat Lady is very particular about who she allows to pass through the portrait hole, she really doesn't mind anyone hanging around in the corridor. At every opportune moment, she will insist that you stop to listen to her "amazing" singing voice or engage in very loud conversation about the latest gossip. Even the Gryffindors themselves have to put up with the antics of this loud and flamboyant woman -- sometimes she won't even let them inside their common room until she is satisfied with their response to her singing or finds the gossip juicy enough to go share with her friend Violet.
OOC: Please do not role-play for the Fat Lady.

One of the fun things about being a seventh year, according to one Morgan Finn McCarthy, was crossing things off his Hogwarts bucket list. It was a list of all the things he wanted to do before leaving school and one that he started writing last summer, yet it was by some miracle that he hadn't lost it as he was apt to do with loose papers such as homework.
He'd already crossed off some of his more adventurous items, but he was feeling like he was running out of time to complete everything. As Morgan wandered out of the common room, he pulled the torn and stained list from his pocket and unfolded it to see what he could do today. His eyes scanned the words, many of them crossed off, and landed on "Sing a duet with the Fat Lady," just as he stepped out into the corridor. Seemed easy enough, but... just how did that one get on there? Seemed like something Kale must have written.

Making his way back to the Gryffindor Common room, he found Morgan standing in front of the portrait, busy, reading. Was it another Hogwarts confession paper he found? "Hey," Noah said in greeting, tapping Morgan's back. "Everything alright?" he asked, glancing at the parchment in his hand, and then to the portrait of the Fat Lady, prompting a not so distant memory. "Was it just me the other day, or did the Fat Lady sing the 'Happy Birthday' in a very operatic way?"

"I don't remember specifically, but that sounds about right. She's always singing something or another." And he was sure he'd heard happy birthday at least a time or two in his educational career. "I'm just looking to get some things crossed off my Hogwarts bucket list," he added as an afterthought, waving the paper in his hand, since that was what he came out here for.

Noah eyed the paper again, and wondered what Morgan was up to. "Oooh, did I catch you red-handed or something? What are you planning, Mr. McCarthy?" he asked, eyes wandering back to the empty portrait of the Fat Lady.

"Sounds a little sus." Noah very well could have said date, according to Morgan, because it wasn't like he mentioned any names, so the secretive implication of his words did make it sound suspicious. But Morgan wasn't truly bothered as he wasn't all that nosy anyway.
"They'll get used to her. We did," Morgan replied with a shrug. Though technically Morgan didn't have to deal with her in his first year since he was at Beauxbatons that year, but he had no problem with the Fat Lady. He glanced back over at housemate again. "Red-handed? Nah, bro." That made it sound like he was doing something that maybe he shouldn't and was trying to get away with it. Not today, or at least not at the moment. "Just trying to see if the Fat Lady wants to sing a duet, but she seems to have better things to do." Granted, that one was one of his less exciting items, but it was something that he'd never have the chance to do again in a few months.

Boys usually don't pry on people's business, but Noah decided to be extra careful. Not because he didn't trust Morgan or his friends in general, but keeping the date secret seemed to be very important. The idea of Florrie being embarrassed dating him, crossed his mind (many times) since his dating (would normal people even call it a date?!) record wasn't exactly top-notch. It was more of...mindless getting together kind of thing. Ahem. But yes, this one with Florrie was serious business, and he wouldn't allow anything to wreck his plans. The missing wine was already a huge dent on his plan, but thanks to his quick thinking, that was amended in no time.
But he wasn't here to discuss his date, Noah was with Morgan because he wanted to pry on his business. He thought his friend was going to do something very naughty which was, by the way, not like Morgan at all, and he wanted to be part of whatever it is that he was planning. "Duet with the Fat Lady?" Noah repeated, suppressing a laugh, "If I were you, I'd call it a revenge, since she's kept me awake half of the time during my first year." the constant operatic singing drove him up against the wall, but just like what Morgan said, he got used to it. Eventually.
True, the Fat Lady seemed busy, but Noah wasn't one to give up without trying. "She could be somewhere around these other paintings, but maybe we can summon her." he said, looking around, and then back to Morgan. "You might want to cover your ears," he added, giving him a very naughty smile.
"Fat Lady, WHERE ARE YOUUHOOHOOHOO-HOOOOOO???" Okay, he may not be able to hit the high notes of that Mozart aria, but he was feeling every bit the Queen of the Night right now.
