Transfiguration Lesson 1: Ruddy Pumpkinheads!

It's a crisp Autumn afternoon at Hogwarts, but not just any afternoon. Today is Halloween! Students attending today's transfiguration lesson will find the classroom adorned with a few simple decorations. There are several paper pumpkins stuck to the walls, and a large jack-o-lantern sits on the professor's desk. As students walk past the desk, the jack-o-lantern lights up and cackles. Notice a pattern with the decorations? Could this be a sign of things to come, or is the professor simply obsessed with pumpkins?

Beside the cackling jack-o-lantern are three plastic skulls, and an identical trio of skulls sits on each student's desk. Even Professor Carton has gotten into the Halloween spirit (pun not intended!) with a costume of his own! He stands in his usual place at the front of the room, greeting each student with directions to NOT touch the plastic skulls yet.

OOC: Welcome to transfiguration! Please keep in mind that this is not the first IC lesson your students would've had with Professor Carton this term. Class will start in 18-22 hours HAS STARTED! ^_^

It had only been the night before that Nem had suddenly decided what they could do with themselves that Hallowe'en, and they were fairly impatient to put plans into motion. They'd briefly considered skipping at least their afternoon classes, but swiftly dismissed the idea, preferring not to bring unwelcome attention their way today. It had been business as usual instead, getting through lessons with nothing less than than their usual level of attention.

Nem was in their regular uniform when they turned up to Transfiguration; they knew about the costume thing, but were not invested enough in the idea to put any effort into that kind of kid stuff. Not really in the mood, either.

Which was the same reason Nem didn't speak at first as they entered the classroom, glancing at the decorations and the Milk Monitor's costume as they went to claim a seat in the back corner of the room, by the window. They pulled parchment, quill, and ink out of their bag, and also their textbook, dropping it onto their desk heavily so that it just clipped one of the plastic skulls and sent the lot clattering to the floor. "Oops." Nem looked up at the Milk Monitor, smiled apologetically. "Permission to collect my skulls, sir?" He'd said don't touch, and who was Nem to assume that didn't apply to casting spells too.

Ash entered the transfiguration classroom. Woah. That was a lot of pumpkins. "I see you like pumpkins, professor. Maybe you should get a pumpkin and put it on your head. And enchant it to glow eerily. That would look so cool." He was lucky he got a title. It was either the title or the name. He at least had some respect in her eyes. Just a little bit. That's why she gave him her gracious costume suggestion.

Ash took a spot next to Nem. She had kinda given up on hating them, and they were the only other student in the room besides. They were calm all the time, so maybe she should just let it be and go fight someone who it was fun to fight. "Hey Upstead." She nodded. "I'm gonna be a supervillain for Halloween later. It's a surprise though, so don't tell." Why was she gonna be a supervillain? Uhhhh, because it looked epic. Duh. That wasn't even a loaded comment. She actually was gonna be a supervillain for Halloween. They didn't look like they liked Halloween. Pity. Who didn't want to dress up and parade around eating candy and looking cool? Even Ash liked Halloween. "Do you think I would make a good supervillain? I'm worried that people won't be able to tell that I'm scary and tragic." It was mostly a joke, but she was also curious to hear their answer. Would they roll their eyes and ignore her? Would they respond? Would they say something confusing? Would they say something mean? Ash was drawn to Nemesis Upstead for some reason. They were fascinating, especially in their bored tolerance of her when she was pretty sure they thought she was a waste of time and space. How did they do that? She wished she could give off bored outsider energy like they did. She wished she could be so in control. She wanted to hear their answer.

Claudine had been undecided on if to dress up for this Halloween lesson. In the end, she’d whipped up a quick but neat costume and even transfigured her hair to short and black. Who was she dressed up as? Magenta Comstock, of course. Artists were so inspiring. Not to mention her shirt and slacks stained with paint were rather comfortable. There was a small paint brush sticking out of her shirt pocket as part to the get up.

“Hi, Professor. That’s a lot of pumpkins and skulls.” As for his attire, the Snakette wasn’t sure whom or what Carton was supposed to be so she proceeded further into the room. Claudine shot a glance at Ashley, half expecting to see her in a pirate costume. Seeing that the Ravenclaw was seated nearby to Upstead, Claudine headed in the opposite direction where she took a seat at the back of the class.

Well Happy Halloween. And what better way to spend this holiday than in Transfiguration class. Walking into the class she smiled softly seeing how the professor got into the holiday spirit with pumpkins and what not inside the room. "Happy Halloween Professor. Very nice costume!" She said with a smile as she walked by the desk. Hearing the jack 'o lantern cackle as she walked by she looked at it and smiled. Oh, she liked that. Don't know how the other students are going to take getting scared, but Aibhi enjoyed it. Anything horror or spooky related was all up Aibhi's alley. She loved everything about it. She can thank her mom for that. Hearing hte Professor's directions to not touch the skulls and she made sure to not touch any of them as she sat down and pulled her hair up once again in a messy bun and waited for the other students to enter the class. This was going to be so much fun.

Halloween was right around the corner and by that Blake meant it was today- must be the reason for the jack-o-lanterns and the skulls. Should make for and interesting lesson! It always did.

"Hello Professor, I like your costume." Blake added smiling and getting prepared for today's lesson.

Halloween was one of Kinsay's favorite days out of the entire year—but not for the reason that most people would assume. So it was with an extra bounce in her step that the littlest James made her way into the transfiguration classroom. Even if she didn't feel like being chipper sometimes, she made a big effort to be. It was especially important today, so she was making an extra effort to smile big, even though it looked a little out of place with her costume of choice.

Upon entering the room, she was a tiiiiiny bit disappointed to see that no one else had really made a big effort with their costumes. It made her feel all sorts of silly for going all out with hers. She gave her little pigtails a tug. Um.

..... Trying to push THOSE thoughts away, she made her way towards their professor. What was he supposed to be? She couldn't tell in the slightest. Maybe a pirate? Or .... some ancient opera singer? .... A prehistoric waiter? Kinsay felt it was best to pretend like she understood it completely, just so she didn't accidentally hurt his feelings. "Hi, Professor," she bounced in place eagerly, before lowering her voice to a whisper."It's Phoebe and Teddy's birthday today. Can we sing happy birthday when they get here?" It'd make them so happy, she was sure of it.

Remy was really looking forward to today's lesson, mostly because they were dressing up. She didn't really have a costume to wear, as such, despite usually preparing for such holidays. Instead, she arranged her clothes, make up and even sported a black wig to make up a gothic princess kinda look. Remy thought she looked 'the bomb' when in the dormitory. Walking down to class, however, she couldn't have felt more stupid.

Thankfully some of the other students were making some sort of effort, too.

Her face lit up at the decorated room. She liked Transfiguration anyway, but the professor had got some major plus points after putting this on. "Hello, Professor Carton." She greeted, before finding a seat near the front of the class. She scratched her itchy head as she sat (wig problems.)

Hey Ju 05-19-2021 08:56 PM

Scarlett was dressed as a MUMMY that day. Simple, classic, not too much work. PERFECT.

The wrappings made it slightly difficult to skip to class, but she TRIED anyway. It was why bits of the bandages were hanging off now, but she DIDN'T MIND one bit.

She was also not going to fix it.

And SO she entered the room and looked around. "Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!" She happily commented, smiling at the professor as her greeting. She looked around the room once again, this time to choose WHERE to SIT.

OOOHHHHH. What a good looking BOY!!!!!!!!!!

The first year made her way towards the Slytherin (Blake) and plopped down on the seat next to him, putting her belongings on the desk by the skulls and grinning at the guy. "Hi!" She greeted as she started to kick her legs under the desk. And she loooooked and looked at him.

Nice FACE!!

Quinn hadn't brought any nice costumes from home, so... he decided he would whip something up himself. He had some yarn and his knitting needles, markers, paper...and an idea.

After a couple days' preparation, Quinn came to class as a black cat. He wasn't in a full out costume: he colored some paper black and pink, cut them into triangles and stuck them together to make ears which he stuck in his hair with bobby pins (thanks for those, Eden); he used markers to draw whiskers on his face and color the tip of his nose pink; he knitted a black "tail" of sorts that hung off the back of his pants; and he dressed in a black shirt and black pants. It wasn't extravagant, but he was proud because he made it himself. "Afternoon, Professor."

Quinn looked around at the open seats. He would've sat by Ash, but she was sitting by Nem and he would not be sitting next to them. He didn't even understand why Ash was, truthfully. Quinn let his gaze linger on Nem for a beat—they had obviously done that on purpose, and Quinn didn't understand why they were so horrible for no reason. "Hm," he huffed, looking away before making his way to the back of the class. He plopped himself down in a seat next to Claudine. "Hey," he said, smiling a bit. If Nem was the reason Slytherins got a bad rap, then Claudine was the reason they got a good one.

Halloween was probably one of Gracelyn’s favorite holidays. Just because it was fun seeing people go all out with their costumes and stuff. It wasn’t quite that elaborate, but she had plans for her costume later for the party. She could’ve previewed it for Transfiguration class, but at the last second she decided not to. Instead, it was an entirely different look the Hufflepuff had gone for, giving the Transfiguration professor a grin as she’d entered the classroom.

“Happy Halloween, Professor Carton,” she added, taking a moment to try and figure out what or who he was supposed to be before tipping her hat and making her way over to an open seat. Skulls, hmm. Kind of fit the theme of the day, but it could’ve been pumpkins too. There had to be transfiguration spells related to pumpkins. The Muggle story of Cinderella couldn’t be that far off.

Cassirin 05-20-2021 01:22 AM

Phoebe was wearing a tiara ALL day. The perk of having a Halloween birthday is that she could get away with being out of uniform and it didn't seem all that weird. So a crown, her hair in long bouncing curls, sparkly tights and a dress to match, and the biggest smile. She was a birthday queen, and if anyone wanted to question the validity of her costume, they could pound dirt.

"Hello, Professor." Phoebe gave Professor Carton a wave and came to stand beside her sister. Skulls! How cheerful! How festive! "I'd hug you, Kiz, but you'll get blood on me and I have to wear these clothes all day. Aren't you an adorably gory menace?"

Chelliephone 05-20-2021 02:13 AM

Having had the largest sweet tooth in all the land, Evan secretly loved Halloween and didn't mind dressing up for it. Usually at home he would try to go full cosplay for one of his favorite animes, but.. honestly that felt like a lot for Hogwarts. So instead he opted for one of the ridiculous onesies his father insisted on buying them for family game nights. The cow was not his particular favorite look, but frankly it was comfortable and this was essentially like wearing pajamas to class.

So he was a happy camper.

Entering the classroom and admiring the decorations, though the cackle of the jack o lantern DID give the Ravenclaw a small jump as he offered his, "Hello Professor" and headed back towards a desk, eying the trios of skulls on desks as he went along before sliding into an open one.

He wondered if they should start a betting pool now on who would be the first to utter the words, Alas, poor Yorick and the thought made him give a soft snort of amusement.

Fireheart 05-20-2021 02:29 AM

Avalon had heavily debated the prospect of wearing a Halloween costume to Transfiguration today. On one hand, she didn't want to look like a complete fool if no one else took Professor Carton up on his offer. But on the other, it was the perfect opportunity to wear the latest dress she had been working on. It was orange, after all, and Avalon thought of the perfect way to jazz it up for Halloween.

She had ultimately decided on donning the outfit and adding a few magical alterations to make it come alive. The Ravenclaw was dressed as a monarch butterfly, complete with a black glittery dress and deep orange tulle. The skirt was adorned with paper butterflies, which Avalon had charmed to flutter their wings back and forth.

"Hi Professor Carton. Nice costume!" she said as she entered, not really thinking much of the pumpkin decorations. It was Halloween, after all. What she was more curious about was the professor's outfit. She had no clue who he was supposed to be, though she smiled at him all the same.

Avalon headed for the back of the room and took a seat near Claudine and Quinn. "You look pretty, Claudine. Short hair suits you," she greeted the Slytherin with a wave before turning to her housemate. "And I love your costume, Quinn. Don't let Shadow see you, though. He might think you're one of them," she added with a laugh, thinking of her own black cat.

Ollie was very excited to come to transfiguration class today. She had a witch outfit picked out. Of course, she still wore her school uniform, but she threw on an old witch hat and brought a fake, costume broom and cauldron with her to the lesson.

Upon entering the class she walked up to Professor Carton greeting him. "Good Afternoon Professor. I hope your Halloween had been well. I really like your costume!" She offered him a smile. She then held her cauldron up to him "Oh! I did bring treats, or tricks," She gave a wink, "for you! Close your eyes and reach inside." The Professor had nothing to worry about, Ollie only had candy in her cauldron.

She then walked over to the desk next to her friend Remy, careful not to touch the skulls laid out for them. "Hellooo, Remy! Happy Halloween to you!" She then reached her cauldron out to the girl "Close your eyes and reach in!"She was excited to see how her friend reacted.

COMING THROUGH *all the little open claims in here*

Aries was a jerk.

An absolutely loving and affectionate JERK.

He could hardly see in this ridiculous costume his brother had entirely too easily convinced him to wear (Aries, of course, matching) and the only positive was that Atlas retained the full length of his arms. His brother, on the other hand, was really going for some method acting with his T-rex look...down to the roaring and rawring of his speech. But, if he was being honest, it was really nice to see his brother so enthusiastic and HIMSELF again...so if that meant a little self deprecation on this Gryffindor's end...then he would do it.

But absolutely only because Aries gave him no other choice and was incessant in their methods to get Atlas to gave. Absolutely not because Atlas would always see his brother as the only exception. Nope.

First problem walking into the classroom was that the inflated body of the dinosaur got stuck between the doorframe thanks to Atlas' angle of approach not being the greatest. After a brief hold up, he eventually was pushed through and into the classroom where his tail wrecked absolute havok, knocking into classmate, desk, and skull alike. "Sorry!" he groaned as it knocked over the skulls on one desk, turning towards the person to say the apology face to face...only to then knock over the skulls on ANOTHER desk thanks to the turn. Around and around Atlas spun, apologizing and knocking, knocking and apologizing as his inflatable tail went at the props like a beater's bat to a bludger. His tail even knocked into the cauldron of sweets the one Slytherin first year was holding up to the professor. More embarrassing, by far, was the knocking off the Jack-o-Lantern from Professor Carton's desk...

...and Atlas was afraid to look down to see if it had broken.

Well...he actually couldn't look down anyway. The costume wouldn't allow for it. Apparently one had to sacrifice limberness and dexterity in the name of entertainment this year.

"...sorry..."

It was all Aries' fault, in case anyone was wondering.

NiallNIP 05-20-2021 03:54 AM

I'm so sorry Quinn is screaming and I can't not post about it in this moment

Quinn reddened a bit at Avalon's compliment. "Thanks... I think it came out pretty well, considering I just kinda threw it together..."

Quinn trailed off as he saw some.... thing... trying to make its way through the door. What was...? Oh. Oh no. That was Atlas. Quinn's mouth creeped into a smile that he attempted to cover as Atlas attempted to make his way throughout the room carefully with the least degree of success that Quinn was pretty sure he had ever seen. He was already giggling from the first set of skulls Atlas managed to knock over, and the further he got into the classroom the bigger his laughter became. Quinn even got smacked in the face by the tail, but he was already doubled over in a fit of giggles and he didn't even care. The last straw was when Atlas knocked over the jack-o'-lantern, and Quinn fell out of his seat, face beet red, tears streaming from his face as he wheezed, barely breathing from laughing too hard. How long had it been since Quinn had a good laugh like this? Too long, apparently.

Samia 05-20-2021 11:23 AM

Lo and behold, Aries Flamsteed had arrived in his very extra costume. Unlike his brother though, he burst through the door - uncaring of where he got stuck or what fell over. He was like a ballerina in this costume - in his head anyway. Fortunately, the professor was also feeling the spirit of Halloween and was all dolled up.

The dino monster showed his appreciation by grinning wide at the man, but due to technical difficulties - t-rex's rawr face was all that anyone could see. "HAPPY HALLOWEEN, PROFESSOR" he quickly chirped before noticing the havoc his brother was causing.

"T-REX ON THE LOOSE!"

"Oh my god, Atlas - get a grip man!" he snickered before grabbing a hold of his brother's tail. "I GOT YOU"

Watson 05-20-2021 11:25 AM

Halloween always meant free candy right? Free candy that she’d have to consistently hide away from her older siblings (namely one who had the biggest SWEET TOOTH OF ALL).

She didn’t know what she was going to dress up as originally but after hours of brainstorming. Thank goodness her Eomma made her bring two costumes so that she had a choice. Her choice was between Stitch and a black cat so she opted to go as Stitch. It seemed more fun and chaotic.

So Lisa walked into class in a fuzzy bright blue Stitch onesie.

Best. decision. ever. She was so so so SO comfy.

Hello Professor!” she greeted. She stopped briefly when she saw items on the floor like Jack o’lanterns which made her wonder what could have possibly happened there. Huh. Maybe part of the effect?

Eh. She slipped into a seat next to cow Evan. Onesies for life!

Norman hadn’t been waiting long when the first student arrived. He was not at all surprised by the lack of costume or the lack of greeting from Upstead, but he still acknowledged the Slytherin. “Good afternoon, Mr. Upstead,” he greeted, his blue-green eyes following the kid to their seat just in time to see the plastic skulls clatter to the floor. He nodded, unmoved by the apologetic smile. “Yes.”

It took Norman to recognize Blaze’s costume. He was always useless at Wizarding History! What he did recognize instantly was the use of transfiguration on her hair. “Hello, Miss Blaze,” he greeted. “Nice use of transfiguration!” As for his own costume, he wasn’t sure who he was supposed to be either! He’d just thrown together the least distracting costume he had.

Her face lit up at the decorated room. She liked Transfiguration anyway, but the professor had got some major plus points after putting this on. "Hello, Professor Carton." She greeted, before finding a seat near the front of the class. She scratched her itchy head as she sat (wig problems.)

While Norman recognized most of the costumes he saw so far, Gaeltheos’s had him stumped. Maybe a character from a muggle movie he hadn’t seen? He had nothing! “Hello, MIss Gaeltheos,” he replied with a small smile. The scratching did not go unnoticed and got a slight eyebrow raise. Hmm, must be the wig she was wearing.

Nice FACE!!

Norman kept a watchful eye on Mordaunt as she skipped into the room, half-expecting her to trip over the hanging bandages at any moment. Thank Merlin that didn’t happen! Her reaction to the decor got a smile from him. “Hello and thank you, Miss Mordaunt,” he replied, watching her take her seat. “Don’t let those bandages drag on the floor, please.” Safety first, kids!

Kingsley’s costume got an approving look. It looked obviously homemade, but Norman had to appreciate the effort that went into it. “Good afternoon, Mr. Kingsley,” he replied. “Did you knit that tail yourself?”

Abbott-Daniau’s grin was returned with a slight smile. “Hello, Miss Abbott-Daniau,” he greeted. “Happy Halloween to you too!” Had he had a hat, he would’ve tipped it to her in return, but he had to settle for a bow of the head instead.

Ah, here was the elder James girl dressed as a… princess? Queen? Could be either, given the tiara. Regardless, the costume got a smile from the professor. “Hello, Miss James,” he replied.

First a cowgirl, now a cow. Norman was sensing a pattern here. Was anyone going to turn up dressed as a horse? Only time would tell, he supposed. “Hello, Mr. Nam,” he greeted the Ravenclaw with a small smile.

To be honest, Norman had no idea who he was supposed to be either! It was more a period costume than a specific character. If anyone asked, he was going with “early 19th century gentleman”. Anyway, there was no mistaking Sinclair’s butterfly costume. “Hello, Miss Sinclair,” he replied. “Thank you! Nice use of magic on your butterflies!”

Wow, this one was certainly enthusiastic! Norman had to admire that. “Good afternoon, Miss Burke,” he replied, smiling. “It has, thank you.” He eyed the cauldron skeptically for a moment. Okay, he’d bite! He closed his eyes, but just as he reached into the cauldron...

"I GOT YOU"

… Norman heard the sounds of objects falling and student voices. His blue-green eyes snapped open to find the floor littered with fallen skulls among other things. The jack-o-lantern on his desk had been smashed, revealing the plastic skull that had up until that moment been contained inside… still lighting up and cackling. IN the midst of the chaos, he saw not one but two dinosaurs, one grabbing onto the other’s tail. It took him a moment to recognize the students inside the costume.

Oh, dear Merlin! It was all Norman could do not to facepalm at the chaos. He was beginning to regret the decision to allow costumes. “Both of you, hold still!” he instructed. The less they moved, the less mess they would make. “Mr. Flamsteed,” he said, addressing both boys, “Those are not school appropriate costumes. I trust you can see why…” He vaguely gestured at the mess. “You have two choices: go back to your dormitory and change into something else, or keep your dinosaur costumes and let me shrink the tails so they won’t hit anything else.”

While he waited for them to make up their minds, he went about cleaning the mess. He vanished the smashed pumpkin parts and levitated the still cackling skull back onto his desk. Then he attempted to return the other fallen skull and anything else that might’ve fallen to their proper place. As he did so, he noticed Kingsley red-faced and in tears. “Are you okay, Mr. Kingsley?” he asked, mildly concerned.

Thankfully, this costume was much less destructive! “Hello, Miss Nam,” Norman replied, smiling at the girl.

Norman glanced at his watch and saw it was exactly 1:00 on the dot, time to begin the lesson. With a wave of his wand, he closed the door - closed but not locked. “Good afternoon and happy Halloween,” he addressed the class as a whole. “Nice costumes, everyone!” Or everyone who was wearing one anyway. “Let’s get started with a discussion, shall we?”

He paused a few moments to allow time for the students to turn their full attention to him. “It’s often said that there’s no room for creativity in Transfiguration,” he continued. “Why do you think people believe this? Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?”

Seeing the mess made by the dinosaur twins, Dia was glad she'd decided not to dress up for Halloween (also, she wasn't sure her costume would've been considered appros anyway). She was laughing at the chaos, though. It was funny and those who disagreed needed to find a sense of humor.

The first question.......um, could they offer their opinion without fearing for their grade? Because she pretty much did agree with that statement but explaining why without offending Professor Carton was nigh on impossible. Like, it was going to take some word salading, basically. "Er...." she started, looking uncomfortable. "Maybe because the field of Transfiguration has shone no outward signs of advancement in many years, so people naturally assume that any creativity that was there has died out?" Ooops, so much for not offending the professor! "Sorry, sir."

Emm was present. Present, in costume and you know what else? Ready for the lesson. Transfiguration was her favourite class, it was one of the only ones she felt like she wasn’t miserably behind on and the only one she felt she really had something to prove in. The Gryffindor had BIG plans and needed to make sure she set the ground work early on. It was important to her that Professor Carton knew how competent she was, how proficient, how up to whatever task.

Now that she was a third year, she absolutely needed the man taking her seriously so not just any answer would do.

Where she could say anything off the top of her head in other classes, Emm REALLY thought about this, wanting to be as perfect as possible without a textbook—wasn’t so impressive if you were just reading.

That’s not why, Professor.” Emm said, rolling her eyes at that Wolff girl. The answer was so ridiculous, real ridiculous. The most ridiculous, and she would know. Emmerson gave ridiculous answers ALL the time, sometimes on purpose. “It’s because like with potions, transfiguration is an exact science. There’s formulas and laws you have to follow. You can’t just do things willy nilly and expect them to turn out right because it takes precision. Some people think because there’s all those rules you have to follow, you can’t still be creative but that’s only because they don’t know the rules enough or understand the subject enough to follow them and still be creative.”

Duh.

wednesday 05-20-2021 03:38 PM

Ollie was very glad the professor decided to reach in. He had made out with a canary cream, HA! That was the trick *wink*

Ollie listened to the third year's answer before adding on her own two cents. "It's like science! You can alter a formula to fit your needs but there are a limited number of ways you can do that, and not only that then there is only one thing you can use that formula for. That's just like transfiguration. " She thought for a moment, not fully satisfied with that answer. "Plus, people just think that it's boring and hard. No one has fun with things they don't find interesting." That was Ollie though. She found transfiguration wayyy interesting.

Fixing the bow in her hair to her snow white costume she sat back in her seat in class listening at Carton started his lesson. The question he asked was pretty interesting in her opinion. She never really thought about it before, but now she started to think. No room for creativity in Transfiguration...? She thought about it for a moment before raising her hand a bit to answer. "Well, with Transfiguration...it's more...precise than other things. With transfiguration, things and features have to be precise. Right on the dot. It's like following a certain formula with transfiguration. You get one thing wrong and the whole thing just doesn't work or look like what you are trying to perceive to others."

Been here the entire time! <3

Dahlia had been here all along in her costume that had taken her quite awhile to put together but she had manged it with a little help from a sibling or two. Honestly she hadn't even known what she was going to be or if she even planned on dressing up this year buuuuuut after a bit of back and forth debating with the bestie they had come up with they BEST costumes ever.

The bit of chaos that had been the Flamsteed dinos, had allowed her to slip into the room pretty much unnoticed but still very much on time. A warm polite greeting had been given to Professor Carton. A curious glance was given to Quinn when she had to step around him to get to a seat but she assumed he was on the floor laughing because of the dino duo? Who also got a quick grin from her because well.. who didn't love dinosaurs?!

Was quietly looking around at everyone in their costumes as the lesson began. Now where was the matching part to her costume? AKA, the bestie? He should be here by now. SIGH. That boy better not be late to class.

Shifting in her seat to face the front of the room, blue eyes on the professor. She raised her hand. "Isn't it really difficult to create a transfiguration spell? Like Emmerson said about it being an exact science?," Lia paused for a moment before continuing. "You have to be exact with what you are doing. If anything is off the entire outcome of the spell could be disastrous."
