 On a raised dais situated at the farthest point of the Great Hall stands a long table where the members of the Hogwarts staff sit and enjoy their meal while casting a watchful eye out on the four House tables. Each staff member has an assigned, cushioned chair to sit on throughout the duration of the feast, though the more notable out of them all is the throne-like golden chair in the centre reserved for the headmaster.
Keep in mind that you should not be wandering up to the staff table if you are not a staff member before Headmaster Trent has delivered his speech. Doing so will result in the last-minute loss of points or worse before you even made it on the Hogwarts Express. If you wish to speak with someone who is seated up here, you will have to wait until after the speech has been said and there is food and drink on all of the tables. Make sure to keep your visit brief though -- the staff were also waiting on the food to appear and are just as hungry as you.

As far as his first term on Hogwarts staff went, Kamran thought it had gone alright. He'd been a student at this school himself, been through all the dramas, and knew of the place's recent history too; he would have been more surprised had the year been uneventful. The dust had settled, the Healer Poppy shaped creases in the school's fabric had been smoothed out, the show had gone on, the metaphors had been mixed, and Kamran was feeling good. He no longer wondered whether he had done the right thing or not in coming here to teach.
All the same, he looked forward to a break, and a long anticipated summer catch-up with his own kids, grown as they were.
At the table, Kamran looked out over the Great Hall, no longer a sea of unfamiliar faces. He tapped his index finger on the side of his empty plate, and kept an eye out for any last minute problems. No use getting complacent.

”Well, I’m ready for summer,” Neva announced as she settled into her seat. It had been an odd term, but she was learning that was to be expected when you stayed in this castle a while. Truth be told, as stressful as Hogwarts life could be, it kept her on her toes, and she liked that about it. No one could ever say her job was dull.
Her gaze shifted to the students, sweeping over them. Feasts tended to lead to someone puking or crying or general dramatics and as the healer, she was on the lookout for potential fires that needed putting out. She might just miss these kids while school was out. Go figure.

Finneas bumbled his way into the Great Hall with a heavy heart. Or, er, maybe it was his shoes that were heavy. Perhaps he had accidentally picked up a few rocks in his socks today. How? The world will never know. The life of a Noodleman is simple, yet mysterious.
AnYwAy, ANYWAY, anyway. (for the final time)
This moment was bitter sweet. Come September, he would be halfway around the world Fighting the Good Fight. That's something he learned from his students - complacency was never the right answer and despite the outcome of the war, there was still work to be done. It was funny. He came back to Hogwarts as a teacher, but all this time, he was the one learning from his students. It's how he knew that his tenure as Muggle Studies professor had finally come to an end. Because these kids? They were going to be alright.
This moment was also filled with joy. He was sporting ill-fitting dressrobes in the most vibrant ~RAVENCLAW COLORS~ to celebrate the Ravenclaw victory. The Schmoester was a Hufflepuff through and through, but serving as Ravenclaw Head of House meant that he was surging with pride for his, er, flock tonight. The first Ravenclaw house cup win since ...... the 2077-2078 school year, wasn't it? Kind of a big deal. They had worked so hard. He was proud of them.
Giving his students a mighty salute as he passed, he made his way up to the dais and offered Kamran an uncomfortable smile. It was the Schmoe way (TM). "Hullo," he struggled a bit with his seat before sitting down proper and taking his shoe off to rid it of any mystery rocks. Should've worn his loafers. That was his first mistake. Oh, and there was Neva! "Heh, yes. Quite, er, quite a term it has been." Not as eventful as it could have been, thankfully.

It was funny how even when nothing monumental managed to happen, the man was still drained at the end of the school term. This return to Hogwarts had gone nothing like he had imagined it would--for several reasons, not all bad or good. He would take the summer to reflect on it but would also need to spend some time repairing his family.
"Congratulations on the House Cup, Schmoe. It's a nice send off." Malachi commended as he walked by the man's chair and down the dais to his own.
Was it bad that he just wanted some food in his stomach then a nice sleep? Following the mini-disaster that had been the play, there had been meeting after meeting with the Board of Governors. He was relieved they had been the ones to hire Poppy or he imagined he would never hear the end of it. Granted, he STILL couldn't hear the end of it, but at least he wasn't the focus. The Headmaster suspected there would be quite a few more meetings before the summer ended.
For now, he was ready to get this feast underway.
Malachi knocked at his goblet to gain the attention of the students before amplifying his voice to address them.
"Good evening, students. We've come to the end of what has no doubt been an...eventual term for many of us. I would like to extend praise to the crew of our Hogwarts Production of Peter Pan. We had some last minute interruptions but we powered through and the play received wonderful reviews." They could go ahead and pat themselves on the back. Not just the actors, the stage props and makeup were amazing. It all worked well together.
"While we're in a congratulatory mood, we owe a round of applause to Ravenclaw for winning the House Cup. It was a close race and hard won." Pause. "To our graduating class...this is it. There's no "see you in September". When you leave here tomorrow, the world will be yours to make something of yourself in. I hope the lessons you've learned here will serve you well and that you meet your fullest potential. There won't be anyone telling you what to do at every turn. I encourage you to make good choices. Consider every action and its possible reactions. Strategise." Y'know, the thing many of them refused to do in his classes. He worried for some, but mostly he was confident they would do well.
"For those returning, rest up, get some reading done and stay out of trouble. I look forward to seeing you back here in September. All of you."
Including those with a penchant for running away.
"Let's enjoy our final meal together." With that, the food began to appear at each table and the Malachi sank back down into his chair. It smelled amazing.

Those kids at Durmstrang better be ready, because Gabriela Recard was coming for them. In a good way, of course!
Her chapter at Hogwarts was over, and it was time for her to move on to bigger and better things. The opportunity to be able to see her daughter every day had been the biggest factor. Despite living in France, Emilie went to Durmstrang after Beauxbatons left a sour taste in her mouth. She had NOT been pleased with the education Tucker had received and in recent years, their behavior had only worsened her opinion of them. Perhaps if she got an offer there she'd turn it around...
She had already told her students she was leaving, but the End of Term feast made it all feel so...real. Which was why she was noticeably quiet, trying to take in all of it before she said goodbye for REAL. She did, however, take a second out of her meal to reach over and squeeze Schmoe's hand when they announced the winner of the House Cup, since he knew exactly what she was going through. He was a sweet man, despite his...clumsiness. She'd miss him.
She'd miss all of them. Trying to remain posed and put together, she continued to eat her meal in quiet, but her blue eyes showed just how sad she was on the inside.
It had been a trip working here...and she was going to miss it. Truly.

Compared to his first term teaching at Hogwarts, this one had been a walk in the park! Still, Norman was glad to finally be rid of perky peppy Poppy once and for all and even more glad to have the whole summer to spend with his daughter. Merlin, how was it that Normandie was already going to be a sixth year at Ilvermorny in the fall? Time flies… and speaking of which, it seemed like this term had flown by!
The dark-haired American had taken his usual seat and greeted his colleagues upon arrival. From his place at the far end of the table, his blue-green eyes turned to Malachi at the sound of the knocking against the goblet. He listened to the speech with respectful attention. Malachi was right; the kids deserved praise for pulling off the play despite some… setbacks, to put it politely.
Something else that deserved praise? The Ravenclaws' House Cup win. "Congratulations, Finneas," he said, turning to Schmoe with a slight smile. "Best of luck to you!" His eyes landed on Recard, and he added, "And to you too, Gabi!" Part of him was tempted to ask them about their future plans, but he decided against it. He wasn't one to pry into other people's lives. If it was something he was meant to know, surely they'd volunteer that information. For now, he turned his attention to the meal in front of him.
