HISTORY
Gabriela Monika Schaeffer--more commonly known as Gabi to her close friends--was born on Halloween to German immigrant parents in London, England. For the first few years of her life she bounced back and forth between Munich, Germany and London. Because of this constant moving, Gabi became fluent in both German and English. Finally, at the age of 8 they decided on permanently settling in Surrey.
At Hogwarts, Gabi was sorted into Slytherin and was one of the top students in her class, especially when it came to Charms. She dropped all the "useless" subjects as she referred to them, like Herbology and History of Magic, as soon as she could and focused on the wand-based classes like Charms, Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. After graduating, she moved to Germany and attended university. Following the completion of her first degree, she took a job in the Charms division of the German Ministry of Magic because there were no open positions in London at the time. She became head of her department after a few years and was able to learn more complex spells than she'd ever dreamed while working in Berlin. At this time she met her husband, Moritz Schultz, and married him just a few short months after dating him. They had a son together named Tucker, and Moritz sadly passed away a year after his son's birth.
Heartbroken, the newly widowed young mother made the rash decision to move back to London and quit her job in Berlin. She lived with her parents for a few years and was able to focus all her attention on raising Tucker before she decided it was time to get a job once more. She applied at the Ministry of Magic and got an entry level position on Level 3. Even though Gabi had always insisted on keeping her original last name, she changed her name to Schultz upon moving to London, which would have been her married name at the time she married Moritz. She also changed her son Tucker's last name in remembrance of her late husband.
After transferring to the open position of Magical Transportation Department Head, Gabi actually became a bit more relaxed and laid back in her new role. It probably helped that she became romantically involved with former Department Head Armen Recard. As things became more serious, Armen and Gabi made the decision to relocate to France. However, after a few months out of the office, she became restless and was determined to get her old job back while still commuting to the Ministry from her new home in France. After some snooping around and manipulating the emotions of certain curly haired department head, she found herself back in her old position.
Following her marriage to Armen, Gabriela decided to retire from the Ministry for good this time. At this time, she decided to return to school to pursue a second degree in History of Magic. While she had previously thought the subject dull, she became fascinated with magical history upon visiting Egypt on her honeymoon with Armen. This led to her becoming enamored with curse breaking as well, and upon completion of her Magical History degree, pursued a graduate degree in curse breaking and further study in history. Her relationship with Armen is strong, and he had no problems with her traveling for weeks at a time to go on curse breaking missions across Europe and Africa. However, after she became pregnant with her second child - which was a shock, as her one perfect child had always been enough for her - she retired from cursebreaking but helped the bank in the office, providing materials and doing research on future missions for wizards who would be entering the field.
After some time, Gabriela was given the chance to teach at a primary wizarding school teaching History of Magic. She realized her passion for this new interest in her life had come full circle. Many of her students found the subject 'boring' as she had in school - it became her goal to change that perception. Despite her sharp tongue, Gabi found a softness in her heart for young students and felt an immense responsibility to be a safe haven for them should they ever need it. The stars finally had aligned for her - and she was never more sure of where her career had taken her than when she found an opening as History of Magic Professor at Hogwarts. She applied and was offered the job, which she eagerly accepted. In addition, she took on the role of Healer - over the summer, she took 3 basic healer courses to assure she knew all the potions and spells needed to patch up scrapes, bumps and other ailments.
PERSONALITY
Gabi is often shrewd and cunning and able to manipulate people into doing what she wants, keeping her in line with the reputation of her old Hogwarts house. This personality trait has gotten her very far in life, even allowing her to convince former Department Head Cale Newell to give him her old position back and resign.
She can come off as snobbish and bitter if you catch her in the wrong mood, but after a while she tends to warm up to people and is much more pleasant than her first impression makes her out to be. She unknowingly tends to look down on people based on appearances but will quickly change her attitude after getting to know someone. So best not look sloppy when you come to class!
Gabi is also extremely intelligent and continues to study up on multiple subjects during her spare time, focusing mainly on history but also keeping up on new developments in charms and transfiguration. The importance of school is a trait she has instilled in her two children, which lead to Tucker becoming a professor at Ilvermorny following his university education. His interest in history (he himself is a History of Magic professor) was also a catalyst in renewing Gabi's interest in the subject.
However, tragedy struck when the Sorting Hat MISTAKENLY sorted her beloved son into HUFFLEPUFF. She immediately pulled him from school and filed a lawsuit against the Sorting Hat, which she eventually dropped. Even though Tucker did return for his third year, he followed his mother to France with Armen and transferred to Beauxbatons where he graduated. Her daughter, Emilie, with her second husband currently studies at Durmstrang, because she was interested in studying outside the country, and Gabi has always had a problem telling her youngest child no.
Don't worry, her attitude towards Hufflepuff has changed dramatically since her oldest child was sorted there. Watching her son grow up in to a charming, kind, loyal young man who would do anything for his friends and family convinced her that perhaps focusing on the ultimately meaningless sorting given to them at school was unnecessary. As the years have gone by, Gabi has become much more open minded, which she attributes to her time teaching. She is much more patient, understanding, and willing to compromise, and that is called GROWTH.
But don't be mistaken - if you get on her bad side, she will NOT hesitant to send you straight to detention, or give you a T on your assignment if she feels you aren't putting your best work forward. You best be paying attention, and you better not be late to class - she still has an attitude about her, and is not afraid to show it.
HOGWARTS TERMS
Term 54:

Teaching at Hogwarts was truly one of the last places Gabi expected herself to end up - and not only that, but as a HEALER as well! Still, despite how unexpected her new position was, she was thrilled to put her newfound love of history to good work. She planned her lessons for months, laying out her entire curriculum before she got to school and taking some healing classes to boot in order to prepare for her new role. Two of her favorite lessons this term consisted of historical lessons on two key figures in Wizarding history - Nicolas Flamel and Neville Longbottom.
As to be expected, her first term wasn't a cakewalk by any means. Portraits came to life and before she knew it, founders were walking around the school trying to start a coup d'etat against Trent and the school and return things to their "old" ways. The scariest moment for her came when Gryffindor actually STABBED the Care of Magical Creatures professor, forcing Gabi to put her minimal healer training in to overdrive in order to stabilize him for St. Mungos. Before things could get much more out of hand, the portraits were returned to their frames, and Gabi used her previous experience with charms to seal them in hopefully for good this time. Gabi plans to spend her summer planning her next year of lessons and taking another healing course to help sharpen her skills in that department - just in case someone gets stabbed again.
Term 55:

Gabi is no fool - after her first eventful term at Hogwarts, she didn't expect her second one to be any less challenging. However, she certainly didn't expect her life to be thrown in to utter chaos thanks to a magical weather phenomenon that only occurs every couple hundred years. The school was quite literally thrown into the past, and since they didn't belong there, they began to fade away into nothing. Gabi forgot all the intimate details of her personal life, like her husband's name, the fact that she had an adult son, and more. The mental toll of being so forgetful - especially for someone as organized as Gabi - was draining.
Thankfully, the school was able to be restored to its appropriate time, and magic returned (just in the nick of time, as her store of magical potions for healing - and her personal beauty routine - were running dangerously low!) and everyone was returned to their normal states.
Of course, despite disappearing into literal thin air, this didn't stop Gabi from steaming right through her curriculum for the term, despite many students forgetting things and deadlines. She focused on Newt Scamander this term, even having a long term assignment revolving around "Flat Newt" and his adventures at Hogwarts.
Term 56:

After the events of the previous term, Gabi was certain that nothing could be worse than nearly vanishing in to thin air. While no ones life was particularly at risk during the term, she was certainly pushed to her limits. The hospital wing was busier than ever, and she felt like she was getting absolutely no support from Headmaster Trent - which was extremely unlike him. As term progressed, it became obvious that the treasure they'd found on the grounds earlier in the term was the source of many problems, and Gabi was treating students for a disease she had ZERO experience in treating - ghostly possession. It was true that you had to stay on your toes at Hogwarts!
At the end of the term, the treasure was returned to Slyvester Hargraves, the ghostly spirit that had been causing chaos all term. However, Trent vanished the treasure before Slyvester could claim it, essentially vanishing Slyvester from the world as well. Gabi continued to remain suspicious of Trent's new demeanor as they went into the summer, and even though her family took a lovely trip to South Africa, she couldn't help but feel a nagging sort of thought in the back of her brain that things weren't going to return to normal when they got back to school.
Term 57:

The fourth term of Gabi's Hogwarts career was by far her most challenging. The Neo-Alliance had fully gotten their grasp on Hogwarts, and Gabi would be lying if she didn't say she was disappointed in herself for not realizing sooner that Trent had been replaced by Lucien Rosier. Still, in an effort to try and not rock the boat, Gabi continued onward. She patched up students without making a fuss as the Inquistorial Squad made their distain for muggleborns clear. The constant struggle of trying to put on a brave face for the children, as well as keep them from losing moral and doing something stupid, was exhausting. Try as she may, she was always being second guessed by Lucien, and eventually threatened by him that if she didn't keep up her act and fall in line with the Alliance.
The moment she had been waiting for finally came in April when the castle came under siege by the Order members who had finally figured out what was going on under Hogwarts' roof during the school year. She was able to help detain the Alliance members who attempted to storm the safe haven they'd set up for the younger students. She was able to use her former background in Charms for once and helped capture the rogue Azkaban prisoners, helping stop the Alliance and save the students from further torment.
Over the summer, despite attempts by Gabi to take classes on counseling and mental health to better support the students in the new term, she realized she had to focus on her OWN mental health. She stepped down as Healer to allow someone else to hold the position, having been too drained over the past few terms of near-death experiences to continue. However, she got a pleasant surprise when she was promoted to Deputy Headmistress, a position she accepted without a second thought!
Gabi took plenty of time over the summer to relax in France with Armen and Emilie, and to her pleasant surprise, her son Tucker, who had come home from traveling and settled permanently in London.

Claudine hails from a large family and shares the members' views on blood status. The reason for this is because of how she was raised and what was taught to her. Despite this, she would rarely point out that one of the reasons she was distant from others was because of their said blood status. Regardless of the status, Claudine prefers to be in her own company, purposely engaging in conversation only when necessary. She can usually be found sketching, a talent she discovered at the age of eight. Though she isn't as good at it as she wants to be, Claudine works hard to better herself.
It was during her fifth year that Claudine started to be more friendly and understanding with others. Alfred Gauthier Demaret was born on November 7, 2092 to Léopold and Kyra Demaret in Cannes, France. Named after his paternal great-grandfather Alfred Bouhier and his father's cousin Gauthier Demaret, he grew up in his family's ancestral home on the French Riviera. He was looked after by nannies and homeschooled by tutors, meaning he rarely saw his parents. As he grew distant from his immediate family, he grew incredibly close to his uncle Luca Williams. Alfie was a troublemaker (and still is), which often annoyed his parents. On one occasion, he nearly set the house on fire during an "experiment". On another, he jumped off the roof while holding an umbrella to see whether he would float; he didn't, but he escaped unscathed.
In summer 2104, Alfie received his letter to the French magical school of Beauxbatons. His parents wanted to send him there, while he wanted to go the Hogwarts. Personally, he thought that Beauxbatons was for snobs and elitists (no offence to his cousin Timothée, who is a Beauxbatons student). His parents tried to change his mind about going to Hogwarts under guises of "it's too far away" or "where will you stay during the summer?". They had a valid point, until his uncle Luca offered to take Alfie into his studio apartment in London. Léopold and Kyra reluctantly agreed for Alfie to move in with Luca. He moved in on July 16. In his new home, Alfie has to deal with his uncle Luca's girlfriends (he seems to have a new one every week) as well as the hustle and bustle of Central London. But it was much preferable to continuing to live with his parents and going to Beauxbatons; he wouldn't have it any other way.

Victoria “V” Gellar was raised an only child for the first seven years of her life, and thus she is more than a little spoiled and used to getting her own way. She gets her strong-willed nature from her mother and her creative problem-solving from her dad. Coming from two strong personalities, Victoria was bound to be one as well. She is a force to be reckoned with in a dispute, and she may have a short temper (that she is WORKING on slightly sometimes every third Sunday maybe).
She is very loyal, though, and will do almost anything for those she loves. Her grandmother, whom she was very close to, died right before her twin siblings were born, and losing her has caused Victoria to be a bit more spiritual than she otherwise might have been. Victoria was a happy accident, something her dad would never say to her directly but feels every day in his heart; she is the best accident to ever happen to him. Her mother might feel differently, but from the day V was born, she has been a daddy’s girl. Anton and Alix never married, but they gave Victoria her father’ surname. She has been coddled, adored, and loved ever since. She is not her mother’s first child, however, and Victoria is unaware of the implications of her mother’s past. Alix had Hazel and Noah Martin-Pryce before she was born, and Victoria, for the life of her, cannot understand why she has two totally cool older siblings who will never answer her letters or talk to her or ANYTHING.
She had lived a relatively easy, breezy life, going to pre-Hogwarts magical school and making a lot of friends...until, that is, her grandmother died. It devastated V, and she was left her grandmother’s yorkshire terrier to take care of. It’s why she is so attached at the hip to that dog, the only thing she has left of her grandmother. She thinks about her grandma all the time, and she tries to live life more like her.
And now she is ready for Hogwarts! Despite the news of the past year, Victoria is relatively ignorant to the goings on too deeply because her parents simply never discussed it with her. All she knows is that some bad people took over the world for a hot second and now all is well!

Violet could be well dressed, because her family has money, but she could care less about clothes. She's mart, well-read, socially awkward, not a little rebellious, and intensely curious, and she wants to be a writer.
Violet's mother came from an old, Pure-Blood family which disowned her when she eloped with a Muggle. Violet was sent home to live with her grandfather when she was very young and barely remembers her parents. She grew up in the family's London home with her grandfather and three eccentric uncles. When she was seven, her mother's old school-friend, Jane Howard, came to be Violet's governess. Violet wasn't allowed to play with many children her own age growing up, and as a result, she's socially awkward.
She grew up intensely curious about her father, because her family refuses to ever speak of him, and because of this, she conceived an idealized picture of him. In what should have been her second year at Hogwarts, her father contacted her and persuaded her to run away with him to New York. There she found out her family had good reason to keep her away from her father and that he was a rather disreputable confidence man who seemed to mainly want Violet with him so she could use her magic to further his schemes. Violet's mother was no longer with her husband and Violet doesn't know where she is, or if she is even still alive. Miss Howard tracked Violet down in New York City before too much damage was done and brought her back home, but the governess was fired as a result of Violet's escapade.
Because Violet missed what should have been her second year at Hogwarts, she's now a year behind her class. During her second year at Hogwarts, she was temporarily possessed by a ghost and was embarrassed about it for a long time. During her third year, Hogwarts was taken over by the Neo-Alliance and Violet spent the latter part of the year locked in a room in the sub-dungeon, and the experience has made her suspicious, rebellious, and somewhat cynical.

Serena Baltazar-Dos Santos is an exact mixture of her parents. She can be serious and lack emotion like her father, but just like him, she is extremely loyal and only shows her warm side to those she deems worth it. Just like her mother, she is energetic and extremely curious with a thirst for adventure, and can also be insecure at times.
What she struggles with the most is her anger issues, which could be fueled quite easily and could make her come off as snarky and unfriendly. Because of these anger issues, it creates a lack of patience, something that has affected her relationship with her mother. Currently, they are both working on it through the help of a therapist.
Her dad is her role-model and her little brother is her test subject for experiments.

Serena was born into two old pure-blood families; the Baltazar and the Aguirre. Due to conflicts between her father, Seth, and his own family, the Aguirre, he took up his mother’s maiden name Dos Santos, deciding to honor her legacy through himself and his children. To this day, Serena doesn’t know any of this, just that her grandfather and uncles on her dad’s side are evil people who once hurt him. It’ll stay that way until she gets to a certain age when she must know the history behind it.
When she was born, her mother Peyton, played as a professional Quidditch player for the Falmouth Falcons. Seth and Peyton planned the pregnancy after years of living a quiet life. They immediately fell in love with the little redheaded baby. Peyton could not bear to part ways with Quidditch, so she juggled motherhood and the sport at the same time. Seth was immensely supportive and always present, but her absence affected Serena. The child grew closer to her dad and lacked a bond with her mother.
Later on, when her little brother, Xavier, was born, her mother decided to retire from the sport and focus on her children. This drove Serena with envy because she couldn’t understand why her mother chose to give up Quidditch when her brother was born and not when she was born. Thus, initiating her anger issues and rocky relationship with her mom.
Coming from a long line of professional Quidditch players and dark Potion Masters, Serena has grown up seeking challenges and loving to fly, as well as constantly researching and her hands hovering around a cauldron. As she grows into her abilities as a witch, she will learn there are two side to everything, and they aren’t always pretty.
