Magical Creature Sanctuary The Magical Creature Sanctuary is an outdoor enclosure that looks like a park, full of green grass, rolling hills, interspersed trees, random benches and rocky outcroppings perfect for a bird or amphibian or person to sit and catch some sun. The sanctuary also contains a variety of creatures scattered about, ones that don't mind being outdoors during the Scottish fall and spring, and some of which also enjoy the winter. In the winter, many of these creatures will be brought into the barn, where students can continue looking after them, but some will be just fine still roaming around in the Sanctuary. Unlike the larger creatures in the pastures, these creatures can be generally trusted to mix with each other. |
Open! It was really no surprise that the very first chance she got, Dahlia found herself standing inside the Creature Sanctuary... again. This wasn't her first time here even though she had only been at Hogwarts a short time. It was the very first place she had nagged her brother to show her and she came here as much as she could. This was her 'happy place'. Or one of them, anyways. Just like the rest of her family, Lia was a creature lover. Having been born into a family that worked with them she had grown up around all types of creatures and knew TONS about them. The small first year had made it a point to visit a different group of creatures each time she came here. That way she could give them all of her attention and really get to know them. Today was the first time however that she was going to hopefully get to interact with a few of the Jarveys. Stopping up on a high hill, she set her bag down and pulled out her blanket which she laid down upon the grass. Plopping down on her blanket, she looked around and waited. Now where were those Jarveys? |

Tadhg heard about this place from his cousins, he was told that it was filled with several different creatures and a cool place to go. Tadhg was a creatures lover as well, due his father telling him so much about them, he came to love them. Although his favorite creatures were dragons, he also loved nifflers and Jarveys. He wondered if there was any of those in here, he was about to find out. Walking into the place he looked around his eyes in awe, now this was definitely going to be his place to escape and get away, that's if those meanies didn't take it away. They already took the owls away, what was next? He was getting really tried of these guys and the Headmaster, they needed to go back where they came from! This year was supposed to be fun, not like this, he didn't like it at all. Seeing a familiar bag, he smiled to himself and shook his head, he should've known she'll be here. Walking closer he flopped down beside her. "Hey Bubbles. " He said it loud enough so she'll hear him, but in a whisper so he didn't scare any of the creatures. " What creature are you waiting for? I wanted to see if any Jarveys were here, I want one but papa said that they're not always the friendliest." |

Tipping her head back and closing her eyes, she let the sunshine wash over her. Energizing her as best as it could. Unaware of anyone else as their quiet footsteps had been muffled by the grass, Lia jumped, her eyes snapping open and looking around when she heard a voice. Her heart instantly raced in her chest and her voice caught in her throat in panic. It took a full minute for her brain to realize what had been said to her, for the voice to match the face of the boy that was now sat at her side. "Don't do that..." she mumbled quietly, chewing the inside of her cheek. "You scared the heck out of me... I thought you were one of them..." She wouldn't be doing that again anytime soon. A moment of pure blissful content had been enough to make her lose focus of what was going on around her and given someone time to sneak up on her. Not good. Not good at all. "Jarveys. They're around here somewhere. I haven't seen any today though," she whispered, glancing around yet again. "I want one too but my mum always says no. She says to nearly everything we ask for." If it weren't for her mum saying no, their dad would probably let them have almost anything. |
He didn't mean to scare her, he felf bad about doing so when she looked so peaceful. "I'm sorry Bubbles, I didn't mean to scare you, I'm sorry." Although she was righr, maybe they needed Charms or a spell to let him know when something was coming or so? That would work, he knew some but didn't know if he was able to cast them. Looking around he frowned. "You don't think they're hiding do you? I mean after what happened with the owls, I don't blame them." He would be the same thing if he was a Jarvey or even a creature for that matter. "I'm sure they'll be here, just gotta wait." Looking over at her he nudge her gently. "Hey no frowning faces, it'll be okay Bubbles." Although he didn't know how but he was trying to stay positive. |
Lia nodded. "It's okay. I'm good now, no worries, yeah?" There was no sense in stressing over him giving her a bit of a startle. This wasn't the first time and it surely wasn't going to be the last time either. All that mattered right now was that it was him and not 'them'. She never wanted it to be 'them'. Hiding? That was a very good question. "They might be? They could also be sleeping or somewhere else." The sanctuary wasn't all that small. It had tons of places for the creatures to be. "Hm? I'm not frowning, I'm waiting for the creatures to come out and say hello," she replied, nudging him back lightly with her elbow. That and she was trying not to think about the Evil Headmaster and his Minions wandering around. |
Tadhg nodded. "I know, but if they really were them though, I don't want anything bad happening to you." He couldn't bear to see anything happen to her, she was his best friend and been for awhile now, and always will be. No it sure wouldn't knowing him, but if anyone knew that it was her. Nope he wasn't 'them' he was her best friend and her Tiger, a bit of a goofball she called him. Biting his lip he looked around, were they hiding or someplace else? He didn't blane them for being scared and hiding, he would do the same thing if he was them. " Maybe you're right, I'm sure we'll see some." The place was pretty big, he could see them running around. " Good, cause I don't like seeing you sad, we're going to get through this bubbles we got to. " |
"I understand that, Tad, really I do. Just like I don't want anything to happen to you." She would do what she could to keep both of them safe and out of harms way, as she would with her family and other friends. If they had to keep low profiles for the entirety of the term... well then that's what they would do. Hopefully it would be good enough. Dahlia nodded, turning her blue eyes to the boy beside her. "With how large and spacious this area is, we'll see something." It didn't even matter what. Right now a bird would make her smile. "I'm okay, it's easier to try to focus on other stuff. I don't want to keep talking about it." She had come to this spot to get away from the Impostor Headmaster and his Minions. "Only good thoughts and happiness while we're here, okay?" Now where were they all hiding? |
Tadhg was glad nothing happened to her while she was out here, with those hooded people and the Headmaster he was scared really scared. "Don't worry Lia, I'll be okay I promise. Of course he was a troublemaker, but he knew not to cross these guys, not when he seen what they can do. He would do anything to keep her safe and out of harms way, she was his best friend and they stick together. He could only hope that this term went by fast, he really wanted to go home and be safe wirh his family. His blue eyes looked around the place and smiled. "I bet we will, I mean look at the size of this place!" There had to be creatures around here somewhere right? Best to wait and find out. He was determined to find a creature just to make her smile, she looked so sad and scared. He nodded his head understanding what she meant, it was hard to think about other things when bad things keep happening, but he was trying his best. He smiled and nodded. "You got it Bubbles, now lets find us some creatures hm?" |
Hearing Tadhg promise that he would be okay should have been reassuring to her but really it only made her worry more. That was a promise, that while she knew was made with good intentions, she also knew he might not be able to keep. Being friends with him for as long as she has, Lia knew that he had a habit for getting himself into trouble. "You better or I'll have to hex you myself." Whether or not she would make good on that or not, well... only time would tell for sure. "My point exactly. There's lots of creatures that roam about freely here." If they would come out and interact with them, was the question. Dahlia smiled lightly at him. "Want to go for a walk? Maybe they're all just further down the hills?" Plus walking around would keep them something constructive to do then just sitting still all day long. |
He was going to try his best to be okay, he knew all too well not to promise anything, especially with everything going on. For the sake of her he was going to do his best to stay safe and out of trouble. Okay so he was a troublemaker, but he knew not to cross the Headmaster and his evil gang of croonies. "Hex me huh, should I be more scared of you or them?" With a slight smirk and in a teasing matter he laughed softly to himself. Looking around for some creatures, Tadhg bit his lip before nodding. "Good idea, I think we'll find some if we walk around " Besides if they were to get caught they weren't get caught just sitting around, they would have to find them. Plus what Lia said was right as well, but sometimes standing in lessons was a pain, he hated standing for a long period of time. It wasn't bad, but standing all lesson did hurt your legs after awhile if you didn't walk around, plus he was a bit lazy. |
"Yup," Dahlia nodded, her hair falling in her face when she did. "Me of course. I always keep a promise." Promises were meant to be kept. Liking hexing a friend for getting themselves into unnecessary trouble. Lia wasn't a harsh or cruel girl, so it was pretty obvious that she was differently just talking. The worst she would probably ever do to him was transfigure him into a creature or something... not that she even knew how to do that yet. Without another moments hesitation, Lia was up on her feet, offering Tadhg her hand to pull him up. "Let's go. Maybe a jarvey will come out and join us." Or any creature would do. All she wanted was to have a little bit of fun right now. |
Lauging softly he tugged the hair that fallen in her eyes behind her ear. "Well... then, I better behave then shouldn't I?" He promise to behave and not speak out like he normally does, he was lucky he didn't get into trouble wnen he spole out in DADA. Tadhg didn't want to know what she was capable of, there's alot of hexes out there. Tadhg never broken a promise to her and wasn't going to now, not to his best friend. Taking her hand he gotten up looking around the place for a few minutes. "Lets hope so, I sure would like to see one orna creature for thar matter!" He knew that they had to be scared after everything, honestly he didn't blame them. |
"It would be for the best," she agreed, grinning at him as he tucked her hair behind her ear for her. Lia never minded when he touched her hair, in fact she could sit for hours on end if someone was playing with her hair. "Last thing we need if you running your mouth and me getting into trouble trying to shut you up." It would happen. Keeping those she cared about out of trouble was something she was somewhat good at... well sometimes. Unless she was the one dragging them into trouble. Not that she ever did that... Dahlia didn't waste any time at all heading in a random direction once Tadhg was on his feet. If she was tugging him along, she hadn't noticed, nor had she really noticed that she hadn't let his hand go either. "We'll see them. Just keep your eyes open for them." Now that they were walking together and no longer talking about... mean people, Lia was in a much better mood. They had barely gone a few steps and she was already bounce, skipping as she normally did when she was in a very good mood. Oh, and there was definite humming which he could totally hear and very likely recognize if he paid attention. |
Laughing shaking his head, he looked at her knowing that she meant business. He knew how she was when people touched hee hair, he was the same way when his mum touched it. He wished she was here to do it, sure did calm him down whenever he was upset. "Hm... that's true, definitely see that happening." It was the true, cause it happened more then a few times at their old school. She always kept him out of trouble or most of the time, sometimes it was already too late. He didn't mind the tugging, he been best friends with her lokg enough to just go with the flow. He didn't mind cause he did the same thing at times, so he wasn't complaining by any means. Nodding his head he kept looking around the place keeping his eyes peel on any creatures. He was in a lot better mood now, just him and his best friend looking for Jarveys or creatures. Laughing at her happiness he shook his head, that was the happy and bubbly Bubbles he knew! He definitely was paying attention, he couldn't help but not to smile at it. "Bubbles look, I think I seena white one." Nods where he think he sees one not wanting to scare it. |
She nodded. "Yeah, so I'd rather it not happen." At all. If she could avoid it for the entire seven years of Hogwarts, that would be great. Mainly this year though, having detention this year was not at all ideal. "So just do your best to keep quiet around them." The Neo-Alliance and Not Headmaster. Dahlia continued to gently tug him along as she walked. It was by no means intentional so she was glad he wasn't complaining about it. Many times her excitement tended to get the best of her. "What?" she looked over at him when she heard his laughter. There was nothing funny over here, only her being her happy little self for the moment. At the mention of a white Jarvey, Lia froze in her tracks, blue eyes following the nod of Tadhg's head gesture. Ooooh! There it was! She could see it peeking out from behind some bushes. A bright smile formed on her lips and she gave a few happy little bounces on her toes. "Hi, there." Only speaking loud enough for the Jarvey to hear her and hopefully not scare it away. |
