| | Window Seat
Surrounding the Common Room are beautiful, arched windows. These windows are decorated with silk drapery and overlook the beautiful Hogwarts’ grounds. They also provide the perfect spot to find a muse, whether it take form in writing poetry, creating music, or painting. It’s the perfect place to let your Ravenclaw creativity thrive.
Along the window that overlooks the beautiful Scottish mountains, there’s a padded window seat. The padded seat is made comfortable with generous cushioning charms and is even heated during the winter months. We might be biased, but this space is definitely the best nook to get your reading done. Maybe you need a quiet corner to catch up on your studies or maybe you’re a few pages from completing your yearly reading goal. Whatever the occasion, may this little window seat serve your needs.
There are plenty of books on the shelves lining the room, so grab one that tickles your fancy and make yourself comfy.

| be curious, not judgmental There were lots of places within the castle and its grounds where Teddy could hide away for some privacy. That was what he desperately wanted, but he had considered the chance that someone would see him, follow him, note he was trying to avoid everyone, and make a big deal out of it. No. Instead, he decided he would, as he considered it, hide in plain sight - at least to his housemates. Staying in the common room meant only a fourth of the school could pass by, and tucking himself into the window seat with a book, journal, sheets of parchment, and various writing utensils scattered around him was a visual deterrent from anyone engaging with him, he reckoned.
It wasn't that he didn't want anyone talking to him - it was moreso that he didn't want to talk to anyone. He could listen, nod along, et cetera - but he didn't exactly have the emotional stability to talk about himself. To cover his bases in case someone did initiate conversation, he had his charms textbook beside him - he could make conversation about that - but for now, he was curled up in the window seat with a journal in his lap, a quill in hand, his writing flowing steadily.
He stopped writing to stare forlornly out the window out over the castle grounds. It was early afternoon; the grounds were fully blanketed in sunlight. He wanted to go into how being at Hogwarts without her felt scary, how he could hardly sleep, how disjointed every aspect of his life now felt - he was apart from his family, their friend group's dynamics had forcibly changed, and... it was becoming more and more apparent to Teddy that Tavie had been his security blanket. He felt that way about all of his core friends, but Tavie was... Tavie: irreplaceable, electric, and magical.
He struggled to find the right words to proceed with his letter without 1) making Tavie feel bad for not being there and 2) making himself cry. Neither of those were in the plan, if he could help it. |
