 On a raised dais situated at the farthest point of the Great Hall stands a long table where the members of the Hogwarts staff sit and enjoy their meal while casting a watchful eye out on the four House tables. Each staff member has an assigned, cushioned chair to sit on throughout the duration of the feast, though the more notable out of them all is the throne-like golden chair in the centre reserved for the headmaster.
Keep in mind that you should not be wandering up to the staff table if you are not a staff member before Headmaster Trent has delivered his speech. Doing so will result in the last-minute loss of points or worse before you even made it on the Hogwarts Express. If you wish to speak with someone who is seated up here, you will have to wait until after the speech has been said and there is food and drink on all of the tables. Make sure to keep your visit brief though -- the staff were also waiting on the food to appear and are just as hungry as you.

If the man seemed a little extra eager tonight it was because he WAS. Merlin was he ever. The Headmaster had suffered through the miniature headaches throughout the term. It was done. His prison sentence was over, he thought he had a fair idea of where the....ahem....object he sought happened to be and when the morning came he was shipping the whole lot of them home and out of his hair.
Why were the students taking their own time to get here? Where was the staff? Did they not understand how truly ready he was to be rid of them?
He steepled his hands, his elbows resting against the table and his chin balanced in place while grey eyes locked on the large double doors.
Come on, come on.
He wanted to give his speech, send them to bed...and possibly wake them with a blow horn at dawn to ensure none missed the train. It was...very important that he saw none of them again until it became absolutely necessary.

Finneas Schmoe reporting for duty! And by duty, I mean food.
He made his wobbly way into the Great Hall, tipping his hat (he wasn't wearing a hat) (it was a fake hat) (an imaginary hat, if you will) at his Ravenclaws as he made his way to the dais. They had done an excellent job this year and though they did not win the House Cup, they did win his appreciation and awkward smile! And really, wasn't that the best prize of all?
Anyway, ANYWAY, AnYwAy.
His BRIGHT ORANGE robes flowed this way and that as he haphazardly navigated his way to the staff table and to his chair. "Good evening, someone is looking mighty eager," he uncomfortably hehe-ed as he smiled at Malachi and took his seat. "I hope we have sprouts this year." He mused, wiggling about and turning his attention to his fingernails. They needed to be inspected.
Perhaps getting knuckle deep in play-doh was ~not the move~ right before the Feast. He had washed his hands (#HYGIENE) of course, but you know the Doh. It likes to get all up in your business. You think Schmoe would know. But alas. Schmoe no.

William had ALSO thoroughly washed his hands, and they smelled very nice now, though he wasn't weird like Schmoe and hadn't given them a sniff or anything. He grunted in greeting to the Headmaster as he slipped into his seat and stifled a yawn. He'd been up EARLY this morning. Some puffskein had had babies recently, and they were already being rambunctious and rolling all over the place and getting their bits of fluffly fur everywhere....
It was an adorable nightmare, in other words.

Gabi had never been more ready for summer than she was now - and that was saying a lot considering the events of last term. She smiled at Schmoe and Williamson before taking her seat, glancing at Trent and giving him a smile as well even though she still felt a bit off being around him. He had just been so grumpy and moody this whole term.
"So, everyone have fun summer plans?" she asked with a small smile at the men who had already gathered, even though she really didn't care all that much. Mostly she wanted to break the silence without talking about sprouts like Schmoe was.

It was time already, Cassie just couldn't believe it. It felt like every year just went faster and faster. "Hellloooo everyone." She snapped happily as she made her way to the table. All the staff looked just lovely for the evening and the students were seeming to be in the best of spirits.
"Always a bitter sweet event, isn't it. Excited to head home but hard to say good bye to our seventh years." She looked out to her puff table with great pride in her badgers. "I think I might take some time to travel with the family this summer, what about you Gabi?"

Feeling rather proud, the brunette made her way over to her seat, waving at her fellow professors "hello, hello, hello" What a wonderful feeling this was.
Hearing Gabi's question, June smiled to herself - "I just plan to sit on the beach, bury my toes in the sand and not do anything"

As staff member after staff member arrived at the table, the Headmaster did little more than grunt in their general direction and keep his eyes on the doors. When the last of them arrived, he would get this show on the road, no waiting.
Recard’s smile was largely ignored, as were Kitridge and Flamsteed’s pep and zeal at the table. Schmoe was far enough down the table he did not even have to pretend to acknowledge him and Williamson had largely kept to himself as he should.
Was that the last of them?
It looked that way. Rather than wait and allow the students the chance to mingle and say their final farewells, the man knocked at his goblet to get everyone’s attention. He waited only long enough for them to settle before beginning.
“Good evening. Thank you all for getting to the Great Hall in reasonable time. It’s to be an early night for us all, the train will be here in the morning and I want you all rested for the long journey home. Let’s get to it then.”
While he still felt like it.
“Congratulations are in order for House Gryffindor. The House Cup is yours and I suppose you deserve it.” More waiting for applause. Circe this was tedious. “Further congratulations are in order for our new graduates. This is it. You’re out of here now. Good luck out there, some of you will need it.” If they whines about a few rogue dummies and some giant spiders, they were il-prepared for what the actual Wizarding world had to offer. In the time he’d begun observing them, they seemed more likely to cry than take action.
A sorry lot if ever there was one.
“The rest of you have more time to be prepared. I trust when you return in September, you’ll be better prepared to take in the instructions of your professors and learn something. I don’t have much else to say. Just eat and go to bed.”
He was over it all and ready to properly begin his search without these needy children in his ears and his office.
