| | |  Prefects' Compartment
 At the very front of the first passenger car, the prefects have their own compartment. It looks a little different in comparison to the others, allowing for a more open layout. The walls that separate the corridor from the compartments like the rest of the train do not apply here so anyone can walk about and talk to anyone freely. A wall with a door distinguishes this large open compartment from the rest of the normal compartments on the train.
If you are a prefect, this is the place for you to have your end-of-term student leader meeting, led by the Head Boy and Head Girl, and travel in in style. Don't get too comfortable though; remember that you still need to patrol the other cars on occasion, checking in on both your friends and new faces and making sure your peers in the back of the train haven't destroyed the place. If you are not a prefect, it is advised that you do not disturb those within this particular compartment unless you were personally invited or need immediate assistance.

It was her very last train ride to or from Hogwarts and Carsyn wasn't particularly sure she wanted to spend much time in the prefect's compartment. Did it even matter what would be discussed since she wouldn't be back in September and someone new would be holding this badge? Did it even matter if she didn't complete one last train patrol to check for PDA or other misdemeanors among her peers?
And yet her feet took her to the prefect's compartment regardless because it was where she'd been seated the last three terms and she at the very least felt some semblance of responsibility. To at least wish Aboli and Avalon best of luck in the remaining year(s) at Hogwarts. To chat with Archer, Claire, Lucas and her sister on their best memories of Hogwarts and wish them luck in their post-Hogwarts. Although at least in her sister's case, she knew it wasn't goodbye forever. She hoped it wouldn't be for Lucas either and that after three years of co-prefecting with him, they'd still keep in touch periodically.
She was first to arrive though it seemed, and she settled in for a spot next to the window, deciding even if she didn't stay there the whole train ride, she at least wanted to see the castle fade into the background one last time.

The train ride home had begun, and Aboli took her time getting to the prefects' compartment. For one, she was extra grumpy today, and she wanted an excuse to fuss at first years. Two.......she was looking for Curtis. She had not forgotten the note she had given him, but her heart also really wished to see Noah Nam, too.
Hmph.
She plopped down across from the seventh year and waved. "Hey Carsyn. You ready to be done with all of us, then? Rude. You should have failed on purpose to stay," she teased, her lips curling into a tiny smirk. At least her mood was grumpy and not SAD like last night. Grumpy at least had some passion to it. "And your sister, too, right?" They had a lot of graduating prefects! Merlin.

Curtis was here... I mean who didn't expect him to be here? Probably the entire Prefect clan, minus one. Oh, he got the note alright and it took some effort to not show that smirky, smirky smirk inside his head out on his face. He was cool, not an eager kind of guy... unless they wanted him to be. Ahem.
His hands were in his pocket as he had walked along to the compartment. He smelled good, looked good. Once he opened the door he saw Carsyn, she was alright. He remembered to not be on her bad side so she got a little smile.
"Hello," Curtis said simply before walking over to sit with Ms. Abby Sing aka hot stuff Aboli Song. Before withdrawing one of his hands to reveal a little flower, not stolen from the Greenhouses, ahem, to his fellow Snake Prefect. "You don't need this to look good, but you totally are as pretty." She had seemed not so happy earlier, and figured she needed a bit more than his attention make her feel better. Now what did she think of that? Was he going to get a reward or consequence for this gesture?

For one of the first times in forever, Avalon was absolutely exhausted for the train ride home. She typically spent her return trips chatting with her classmates and reflecting on the previous term, but this year, all she wanted to do was sleep. Perhaps being possessed by a ghost did that to you.
She plopped into a seat along with her fellow prefects, giving them all a sleepy wave. "Well, looks like we've all survived another one," Avalon said, sinking into her seat to get comfortable. The term had been memorable for sure — from her first ever detention to the ghost incident in the Forbidden Forest to OWLs.
"You doing okay, Carsyn?" she asked, noticing the wistful look on the Gryffindor's face. It was always difficult for the seventh years to leave Hogwarts behind. Avalon was not looking forward to that moment. Thankfully, she still had two more years to go. She was going to miss working with the Rose twins as prefects.

Carsyn looked over from her window when Aboli joined her and was almost mildly offended until she realized the Snake prefect had been teasing. "Hey. Just you wait until next year. You'll see." It's like, this whole bag of mixed emotions, to be honest. Like you spend Hogwarts wishing to be older to be able to do more things, but then once the time has come, you just don't know what to make of it. What if you fail?
The compartment door opened again to reveal someone who wasn't a prefect. Something normally would have had Carsyn on edge and feeling mildly defensive, but it was her last Hogwarts train ride ever and honestly, she wasn't bothered. Plus, he seemed to have been here for Aboli anyway, which made her wonder - where they an item? She offered him a brief smile, but mostly just decided to ignore his presence, which became easier at the arrival of the Ravenclaw Prefect addressing her.
"Me? Yea, I'm actually really great, Avalon. Like, it's just this feeling of nostalgia... that I know I'll never see the castle again... at least never from the point of view I'm in now." There was the opportunity to return as a Professor, although slim chances there. "Like, this feeling of completion but also anxiety of the unknown. It's both exhausting and relieving. Exhilarating. You just ... It's good. What about you? You survived a year of being a prefect and no little eagles gave you too much grief?" She cracked a smile at that, reminiscing about her first year as prefect. And her heart suddenly panged as she thought of Sandhu and wondered what the woman was doing with her retirement .... wait, she had retired, had she? Carsyn made a mental note to write her once she got settled with her post-hogwarts decisions.
